that list a thousand horrible side-effects that are all so much worse than whatever they're trying to treat in the first place. The best part is that they always say it in such a calm, soothing voice. Like that sort of voice works well for selling the product I guess but then when that same voice also says "also, you may experience heart attacks, stroke, thoughts of suicide, comas or death" like it's just this small little thing you don't need to worry about, the ad suddenly becomes a lot less compelling. XD

Edit: Just noticed the typo in the thread title. This is why I shouldn't post and watch TV at the same time.

Now that you mention it, they do kind of sound like that most of the time. It's as if they're making a conscious decision to make the potentially deadly side effects sound as trivial as possible.

Well, they're making money. Who cares if someone dies because of that chemical that was cheaper than the one needed for the cure in the first place? Its money, so we should all be happy.

Subliminal messages....

They're for hypochondriacs to get meds for something they don't need, which will in turn make them get other meds to remedy the problems caused by the other meds.

Pharmaceutical companies make a killing off of this crap.

Even Cold and Allergy medication isn't worth a shit. All it does is mask the symptoms.

Many people would call me crazy because I have sworn off medicine forever.

I would like to remind them that A.) It tastes horrible so I will most likely vomit. And B.) I could get a heart attack and cancer while I'm suffering from a stroke and diabetes while thinking about suicide (I would like to point out that this won't be a symptom from the medicine but rather me just wanting to end the nonsense) while also in a coma.

I should also mention that this is all happening in heavy machinery. Woops.

Also, how fast and happy they sound, most of the times it's like they don't even have spaces between words.

Okay, yes, but isn't that the point? I'd much rather be able to function on some level than be leaking out of my eyes and nose so bad I can't actually see or breathe? Obviously it doesn't actually get rid of my allergies, but it does dampen the symptoms enough that I can, you know, actually do stuff?

Your allergies might not be bad, but the death from the medicine, while enduring implosive diarrhea in a coma, will be. .

My allergies get very bad. I will risk death and kidney failure if it means that I can breathe.

I remember when there were cigarette ads on TV and in magazines. Then they yanked them out of concern for the public. Just to have them replaced with prescription drug ads.

Eh, I don't think that's such a bad thing. At least the prescription drug ads openly acknowledge all the health risks, taking the time to spend more than half the commercial listing them, while the only good thing they say about their product is "this may help your depression/anxiety/whatever it is you have".

And that in itself means they're only appealing to a small audience anyway. Unlike cigarette ads which can target virtually anyone, each prescription drug is only designed to treat one ailment, and statistically speaking, most of the people watching won't have whatever it is they're trying to help with. *shrugs*

What the hell is implosive diarrhea? Does it just collapse into a fucking singularity in your colon? Is it the same as constipation? I'm just rife with questions.

Cigarettes should have been advertised to help anxiety and to be appetite suppressents.

It's

That's explosive, not implosive. Although that site seems to verify that it is, indeed, a singularity forming in your colon.
