*One Second After*
A nuclear missile is launched from a cargo vessel in the Gulf of Mexico and detonated miles above the surface in the Mid-West. There is very little fallout due to the missile detonation at a high altitude but the nuclear bast causes a massive EMP wave that completely shuts down the power grid across the United States. In the ensuing weeks death becomes a constant companion. People on medications for heart disease and diabetes as well as others begin to die. Anyone that had a pace maker is already dead. Gangs of convicts and other low lifes begin looting at will.
Characters will have to adjust to the new, harsh realities of their circumstances. They will need to learn to survive and defend themselves. Character's first post will begin the day of the EMP wave. In the early afternoon every electronic device including cars quit working unless it is a pre-1985 model. Not all of the characters will know or understand what is going on, and not everyone starts with a gun or something like that. I literally want to start this out with your character going through their regular day to day routine whether they're a janitor or an attorney etc. I'd like to try to keep this as real as possible.
This is set around Lake Hartwell in South Carolina, near the South Carolina & Georgia border.
RULES:
1. Always have fun
2. This is supposed to be realistic not everyone is going to know or realize what happened, so panic or freak or whatever.
3. Because this is realistic not everyone will be former military, survivalists or preppers. (Will grant this on case by case basis)
4. Don't be afraid to give your character real life problems like diabetes etc. with the grid down medicines will be hard to come by and could lead to some interesting plots down the road.
5. If you do develop a relationship with another character take the bedroom stuff to PM, I don't want to smut up what could be a great story.
6. Not everyone is in High School or Teenagers, please don't torture me this way.
7. Pick a job, This is set in a small town near the interstate, in the mountains, if you enjoy politics be the mayor or sheriff etc.
8. If you have any questions talk to me, This can be a great RP if we work together.
9. Don't post until your CS has been approved
10. Your first post will begin before the EMP hits and then how you initially react to it.
Please Remember No one is going to know what happened, I want to slowly reveal this through RP as our characters try to figure it out. So please do not start your first post with, "Dude my car won't start it's an EMP."
