So this is an RP idea I was considering doing before the site went down, and it even sort of developed itself into a different idea, but that's a story for another time. For now, lets focus on the task at hand, describing this RP.
So, the universe itself is a slightly in the future Earth, where in this world super natural creatures (like werewolves and vampires) exist, but there are very few in number. The stories that tell of were beasts and vampires fighting, while they might've held some water in the past, are no longer accurate being that there are so few of them, they have banded together to not only survive, but keep their presence hidden from the normal world.
How do they do this? Well, the supernatural beings have setup towns that they call "outposts" all over the world. These outposts relay information to one another about possible threats, and also trade goods and services to other outposts. They sustain themselves this way, while keeping the charade of being an ordinary, small rural towns.
So, it's not a very complicated background, and for the beginning of the RP, the plot will be very simple as well. This is an rp that is going to have to thrive on the capabilities of the RP'ers so act out their characters well, because the beginning of this RP is going to be heavily interaction based. All the characters are going to either be supernatural creatures, supernaturally trained humans (mages for example), or have some hand in the supernatural world (humans that know about super natural creatures, but are friendly), and the meat of the RP itself is how the characters themselves interact with one another. Of course there will be occasional conflicts, like maybe reiligious organization from olden times trying to eradicate supernaturals show up, or maybe even demons or angels wishing to release their wrath upon the world attack, I don't know, I haven't gotten that far because the conflict will mainly be driven by characters that have strong characters and personal conflicts that they bring others into.
So, now that I have established what I want this rp to be about, it's time to address one of the big things I've adapted into my RPs.
There will be a limited number of RP'ers that I will be accepting, and a limited amount of characters that each RP'er can have. I am going to say for now, only 6 RP'ers will be accepted, and only 2 characters per Rp'er. This of course isn't going to be the standard for the whole duration of the RP. As the RP grows and expands, we might need more people, or more characters related to the orignal cast (like children). Also, this ain't first come first serve, I'm waiting until I get enough interest, but once I have enough interest, I will post a character sheet template for you guys to fill out. If you're interested when I have the CS out, I want you to post a CS with your "main" character, and based of these characters (if we get more than 6 people interested) I will choose 6 RP'ers from the CS's handed in.
Now some more basic stuff:
1. Mythos: A lot of super natural creatures have a bunch of different mythos, origins, weaknesses, etc. So, when CS's are made, there will be a section that has "mythos" and this is basically to explain how your species works. Vampires for example, their mythos might be like "weak to sunlight, garlic, silver, etc." or something like that. Basically it sets the ground rules of what your character can and can't do, what their strong and weak against, and all that jazz.
2. Posting: So, be able to post at least twice, three times a week. I don't mind "slow" rp's, but any less posting then this with a group of this size would end up in the death of the rp. Don't bother posting your interest if you don't think you can keep to this schedule.
3. Posting Rounds: So how posting itself will work, is it will be in rounds. I'll make a post, then once everyone else involved has posted, I will post again to signal a new round of posting. This keeps people from falling behind if an rp gets going. We've all been there where you joined an rp, left or went to bed or something, and then came back to find 5+ pages of rp that you need to catch up on.
So, if you're still interested, let me know, and post any questions you have here.
