Well actually that's a great concept for the thread. Keilaudrin is a coastal country and Mullen itself is on the coast so there's plenty of trade going through the city. Any prominent merchant would have a reason to be in town.

I see.

I'm still trying to figure out a backstory and stuff.

Well, the world's left kind of vague so that we can work with just about anything, back-story wise.

Perhaps...

A merchant from the mountains that has set up shop in Keilaudrin?

Works for me, that adds a branch of culture we currently don't have a character representing.

I think I will bail out, maybe. It's just too much to read for me and I can't keep my characters in track of the story.

Well, I definitely hope you choose to stay. It's been a lot of conversing that you might really not be obligated to read through. If you'd like me to quote the last post that was directed to you, with Wallace, from within all that text I'd be glad to.

"Why, yes, actually. a tournament will begin some time during the celebration of the coronation, tomorrow. I consider it to be a waste of resources but I am told it is vital for morale that our knights be allowed to bash each other to pieces in the circle." He shrugged his shoulders and held his palms up. "It's out of my hands, and it does make for quite the revenue. I am told in previous years that admittance and associated sales have covered the winner's purse in its entirety. And I assure you, if you're interested, the winner's purse is quite a sum this year." His smile seemed glued to his face at this point, because it didn't leave throughout his discourse on tournaments. Tursgud definitely seemed, at least to Wallace, to be the sort of person to show up a tournament. That was fine, they needed a few fighters in the capital, didn't they?

Although since then, we've advanced forward to the next day now that all the introduction is over, that's my most recent post in the IC. Everything is kind of a blank slate right now, start anywhere do anything kind of setup.

Sorry if the thread got a little confusing to follow, kind of poor form on my part for not using a line and title to break between characters, even if they are just NPCs at the moment.

Name: Jon Easten
Age: 22
Gender: Male

Race: Human

Armor and clothing: Jon Easten wears only a thin chainmail shirt, under a hardened leather, sleevless jerkin. He also wears hardened leather kneepads. Over all his armor, he wears a blue wool three buttoned cloak, that stops right above the knees.

Appearance: Jon stands at about 6'3'' and weighs 180lbs, and has cropped blond hair, with alert green eyes. Jon has a rather boyish features, with a man's face. Dimples, a boyish smile, and constant clean shaven face gives off the vibe of a young man, but the stern way his face is shaped contradicts his facial features.

Weapons: None, as Jon can not afford any.

Personality: Jon is a very driven indivdual. Everything about his life is about becoming successful. Jon is driven by a competive urge that most people of his social status never experience. When not being competive, Jon is a somewhat shy person, who will only give the most generic answers to questions.

History: Jon grew up to a potatoe farmer outside of Keilaudrin, and spent his younger years working the field day and night. Jon's mother died giving birth to him, leaving him the only son to the poor potatoe farmer. As Jon grew up, his father became sicker and sicker until he eventually passed away. Uncontent with life as a potatoe farmer, and desiring more out of his life, Jon sold the entire farm, and all his possessions, in order to buy enough equipment to start tournament crawling. The King's coronation celebration was the perfect chance for him to debut himself, having entered himself in the jousting and melee portions of the tournament.

Name: Hadryn of House Buckshorn
Age: 35
Gender: Male

Race: Human

Appearance/Clothing:
Hadryn

Weapons:
- His two sabres are his primary weapons
- He keeps a dagger on his belt

Personality:
Hadryn is an enthusiastic man. When in combat he will often play to a crowd or just showbolt depending on how much danger he is in. In other situations though he can act very different. For instance if he were stealing from a house he would act exactly the opposite as he would in front of a crowd. He'd take every precuation so that it could not be traced back to him and so that he would be in as little danger as possible.
History:
Hadryn was born far north of Keilaudrin, in a desert city known as Thymane. The city largely survived through it's thriving trade routes and bustling slave trade. He grew up without a family. A largely used custom within Thymane was to stop having children after you had 2 and to abandon any after that in order to survive in the harsh conditions of the desert. As a result, Hadryn has to steal to survive. He became a very adept thief as time went on and soon began to ransack houses in the night and sell whatever he had stolen to vendors during the morning. He was eventually caught though in an event that would change his life. He was pickpocketing from a traveller passing through when the traveller whipped around and threw him into an alley. The traveller explained that he was a part of an infamous rogues guild and he was scouting out the area for possible hits. He had noticed Hadryn thieving in the night and had purposely set himself up so that Hadryn would pickpocket him and so that the guild could recruit Hadryn and hone his skills. Hadryn gladly accepted the chance to actually sleep under a roof that wasn't poorly constructed. The man became his mentor, he trained him in the art of thievery along with training him in the art of blade. He took his masters house name on as per his masters request a few years into his training.

His master let him go at age 18 and Hadryn did what any boy of that age would do, pack up and leave for the south. The trading business was an old man's game and Hadryn was tired of the same old architecture he saw in every city up north. He became a well-known swordsman throughout his years in the south and joined many fighters guilds along with becoming an assassin for a short while before retiring back to thievery. He has recently travelled west to Keilaudrin for a tournament being held.

Is Hadryn participating in the tournament, or just watching? So far the three events are Archery, Jousting, and Melee.

Participating, does he have to participate in all three events or are they seperate tournaments in themselves?

They are separate events. You can chose to just do melee, just do joust, or just do archery, or any combination of the three.
