She had to keep herslef awake, she kept mentally repeating, they still needed to get to the tattoo shop...man, she might even fall asleep in the middle of the tattoo at this rate.

She blinked, looking over but not moving as she heard the familiar buzz of a tatooing machine. She smiled in a kind of loopy sort of amused. A priest giving a tattoo.
Well, guess they wouldn't need to go to that tattoo shop after all, and she was grateful for it. Her shoulder twitched slightly when he started in on her new ink, and it was an uncomfortable experience but she was so tired it was just easier to ignore it. Instead she tiredly gazed on him, tracing his scars with her eyes.

Her look shifted to Connor when he started moving again, and as he took her hand she couldn't help but wonder if many years later, when she was in a hospital bed, if he would hold her hand there too. The question didn't stay long- of course he would.

"you can sleep now"

Oh, that sounded so good...but something else was weighing on her tired mind. She smiled a little.

"but I'm finally here...can't I get a blessing?" she of course was teasing him, but it was also important to her. She had been gone from the sanctity of the church for over three centuries. It was about time that she returned properly.

Connor laughed, looking to Father Furthull, "What do you say, Father? A blessing for Elizabeth?" He said, looking up, seeing the Priest had quick hands, and a keen eye, nearly finished with the tattooing. The priest paused a minute, looking up, "The lord is always willing to bless his servants. He merely uses tools such as me and my flock"

Connor chuckled, amused at that, "And gets you to lead secret lives as semi-hunters, providing holy water and exorcisms to those that need it" Connor sobered quite quickly, saying, "Thank you, for letting me use your trap. For the tattooing. I didn't have anywhere else to go, and...Elizabeth..." He ran a hand through his hair, embarrassed.

The Priest waved a hand, and returned to the tattooing, soon finishing it, "Love is a powerful emotion, and one that is beneifical. You should be glad. Now, I can do the blessing, if you like" Connor nodded, scooping up the Holy water Furthill had brought along, and shoving it in a pocket. It was in a water bottle, and Connor gave an amused chuckle as he saw that it was clearly marked "holy water" He helped Elizabeth up

When Furthill was done with the tattoo, Elizabeth silently slipped her arm the rest of the way out of the sleeve. The ink would need to set, and all that stuff. She didn't catch much of the following conversation. She could only feel the pure joy that pumped itself through her body. She could never go back to her house in England with her family, but she can now be in a church and receive blessings from her Lord. Anytime, anyplace could feel like home as long as she could go to the house of her Lord.

She was in thought when connor started helping her up and she gave as much of her remaining strength she could so as to make it not a one sided ordeal. Once up, she intertwined their fingers and leaned against him both as a form of expressing love and because she doubted she could stand on her own.

And she fell asleep (more like passed out from sheer exhaustion) about half way through the blessing, but she looked happy and at peace.

Connor gave Elizabeth's hand a squeeze when she intertwined their fingers, giving her a easy smile. He was quite happy to let her lean on him, and he wrapped am around around her waist to take her weight, and give her support as the Priest gave a blessing to her, even as she fell asleep.

"Thank you, Father" He said softly, not wanting to wake Elizabeth. He scooped her up into his arms, and said, "You don't know how much that meant to her. If you ever need anything, you have my number" He headed back outside, to the car, setting Elizabeth down in the Passenger seat, he laid the chair back slightly, and placed the pillow behind her head, buckling her seat belt on. He smiled, and kissed her on the forehead, before heading over to the drivers side. He chucked the holy water in the back with his duffel, before starting up the car.

He headed out the town, content that there was nothing else supernatural there, and headed back towards home. He knew it would take a few days to get back, but being on the road there was a big step back. Connor would glance over to Elizabeth every now and then, but he was content to drive, and would, given half the chance, drive till nightfall.

He wouldn't have to.

Elizabeth slept hard and deep, and didn't move at all save for breathing. Roughly four hours later, bringing them into late morning or early noon...she finally stirred, bringing her hand up to clutch the pillow, still smiling. A moment later, her stomach growled and she sat up with a yawn.

She looked out the window for a bit before looking at him. Her shoulder still stung slightly, reminding her of all the events that had gone down in just one half of a day. "morning." she said, a bit cheerfully. She gently touched his hand before starting to readjust everything. Now awake, she slid the pillow back onto her lap. "Truckstop or town anywhere nearby?" she asked with another yawn. "Somethings we can do...but I have to at least eat" she smiled, "we never had our breakfast."

Connor had focused on his driving the last few hours, because it was better hen focusing on other things that he could not control right them. He went into the same state of mind as he had when chanting in Latin, using the driving as a focus point to push everything else away, and had a sense of calm neutral air around him.

It was better then focusing on Lust's effect.

He blinked, broken out of his stupor as Elizabeth spoke, looking over to her, he gave her a smile. "There's a truck stop just up ahead" He said, looking at the time, seeing that four hours had passed. He blinked again, somewhat shocked at that. "How are you feeling?" He asked, as he pulled into the truck stop, parking, and stopping the car. As he waited for an answer, he let out his senses, searching for any supernatural beings nearby, but couldn't sense anything.

She smiled as she heard there was a truck stop. She hoped there was an inn too...maybe not to sleep for the night but it'd be nice to have a bed, she found herself thinking.

"I am feeling much better...and happy..and peaceful." she said as she started looking out the window. She almost felt like she didn't care what happened right now...not because she was waiting to die again...but because she was completely happy at the moment. For the most part, there could be a couple things better at that point. Like food and....

She looked back at him, starting to remember what the demon had done in her body, and she became a bit concerned for how he was dealing with it. "How are you feeling? and no hiding any of it."

Connor smiled as she said she was feeling better. That pleased him greatly, and he reached over to take her hand in his. He wanted the simple contact, seeing as that was probably all they could do right then. Not that he minded, and he was content.

At least until she asked how he was feeling.

He sighed as it seemed to come rushing back, everything the demon had done and said. shes probably infertile, and Connor rubbed the back of his neck with his free hand. "I'm okay" he said, giving her a smile that he hoped was reassuring. He really was okay, Connor didn't need kids, he had never even thought to have anyone in his life, and now he had Elizabeth, so why should he be greedy?

"Really, I am" he said, getting out the car after a minute, and going over to her side, opening the door "I'm just glad you're okay. That I could get the demon out of you"

She didn't quite remember up to the point that Connor had. It was still kind of blurry but she remembered the demon using his powers a lot, and the priest from before.

She didn't know much about Connor's ability to take things in stride, but she knew that it would be somewhat disturbing for her to see him being...well, not him.
She felt like she needed to know more and not just that he was going to say that he was 'okay'.

She stepped out of the car as he opened it and walked up close to him, hugging him at the waist and going in for a deep kiss. There was a little bit of lustful hunger there but not as much as there was last night. Mostly because of her time sleeping, and that she didn't want to get her hope up too much right at that moment, or it would keep bothering her until they did stop to have some more fun.

"I'm not asking if you're okay," she muttered, still a bit concerned, "I'm asking how you're feeling"

Connor wrapped his arms around her as she hugged him, and returned her kiss, holding her close. The effects of Lust the Deadly sin reared up, and he had to force himself to have some self control, that they were in a parking lot, and not somewhere private. How he wished they were somewhere private.

"I feel fine" He said softly, "If a bit...hungry" Hungry seemed better then saying something like horny or such. "I was more worried that I wouldn't be able to do anything...I'm happy, Elizabeth. Because You're with me"

That was the truth. If she didn't remember what the demon had said, then Connor didn't want to bring it up now, not when they were on the road, and somewhere public. Better when they were back at the farm. "I just feel like I should have expected something like that to happen...especially after figuring out the Deadly Sins were out and about..." He said, sighing softly

She could feel his want through his kiss, and it also brought hers out a bit more. Dealing with the demon must have been tough on him. A fuzzy recollection of him standing in front of her with a book in hand, and him having a sort of expressionless face came to mind. She wondered how ,much will power he had left, but she wasn't going to trest that out here. She smiled a little and kissed him again, only quickly this time.

She waves off his self pity and grabbed his hand, shutting her door. "We don't have to worry about that anymore, more on lets get some food. And then...we can find someplace private...for an hour or two." she said that a little quieter. She paused to look over the truckstop, hoping that it had an inn or something.

Connor groaned to himself as she broke the second kiss, shaking slightly as he tried to maintain control of himself. He nodded, knowing food would be good for both of then, the missed breakfast making itself known as his stomach tumbled with actual hunger. But he did look around as well, spying a pay by the hour motel.

He smiled, intertwining his fingers with Elizabeth's, heading to the little restaurant that was most likely open twenty four hours for truckers. He grabbed then a table in the back, where he could watch the exits, and keep his back to a wall. Just in case. The menu was basic, but Connor would never complain about it. Mainly because they had hamburgers.

It was a nice little place, but Connor also knew that many such places like this catered to hunters as well as truckers, and that if you needed information, most likely such a place would have it. the hunter community was wide spread and close knit. As a waitress came over, one of two, he saw her gaze linger on the tattoo still exposed on Elizabeth's shoulder, and acknowledgement sprang into her eyes.

"What can I get you both?"

Elizabeth noted he he acted after she kissed him last, before he grabbed her hand. She noted it and grew a bit worried. Connor might not last much longer, she told herself, so eat and then get to the inn. she nodded slightly to herself at the simple and solid plan.

She followed him in and let him pick the seat. For someone who hadn't had the time to slip her weapons into place, she was pretty relaxed, allowing Connor to be the vigilant one.

When the waitress came over, she also noticed the lingering gaze but payed no real attention to it as she scanned the menu. All of this, the entire menu, was now an open book of possibilities...but once her eyes reached it, she already knew what she was going to order.

"Hamburger please." she said looking up with a small smile. "Medium rare, with water and lemon as a drink."

Having been around people and their eating habits, she knew how to order...apparently medium rare was the best way to have a burger...though she personally had no idea what it actually meant.

Connor smiled, and said, "A hamburger too, with Coke as a drink" if he was going to have to continue to drive, he wanted caffeine in his system. The waitress nodded, and Connor waited until she was gone to say "I bet hunters have been here before, and that this little pit stop is good for hunters. The waitress recognised the tattoo" he said, smiling slightly.

He leaned back in his chair, shifting slightly, thinking and taking in a few deep breaths, setting aside their menus for the waitress to pick up later. "There's a few of these sorts of places around-people that know of the supernatural, but don't want to be actively fitting them. They help out any way they can. Or people who have lost someone, and don't want to see others lose people. Its a good way to have help. Most likely, they have stocks of guns, ammo, holy water, things that can help" He handed the menu's over to the waitress, and took their drinks from her.

"I'll be right back with your burgers" She said, heading back to te kitchen

She nodded a bit as Connor started talking the first time, noting him shifting and deep breathing. Inside, she felt a little guilty herself. But she knew that she hadn't known that there were demons about when she got taken over...no...she wasn't feeling guilty about that. Thinking on it a bit more, she felt guilty that she had let him win. muffled words came to her memory...they were spoken not long after her will was overwhelmed. She had felt comforted by them at the time...but now she wasn't sure what they were anymore. She also didn't feel right asking Connor, something told her it wouldn't turn out well.

She sipped at her water as she listened to him, taking a moment to squeeze the lemon into the water. "It's also good for traveling vampires." she explained quietly. "In the back of the building, or on truckers' trucks...but there's none now.'

Connor pondered that, and nodded, "I suppose that's so" He said,"And this is a truck stop, so there's probably more normal people then there is hunters and supernatural passing through here" He shrugged, "We can't stop it all from happening, no matter how much we want to"

Connor grimaced slightly, looking at his own hands, for he at least had a way of curing vampires, but how could he do so? He'd kill himself trying to do so. And the only problem was, the vampires would kill him to get his blood. It was like being stuck between a rock and a hard place.

"So we just do what we can" He said, his voice soft, then shrugged. "And we hope that something or someone there helping us, unseen" That was probably the closest he had ever come in his life to admitting he believed in a higher power. But what else would have protected the teenage werewolf. prevented her from bitten and turning another?

He smiled, relaxing and looking up as the waitress came, and he smiled, ready to virtually swallow the burger in one swallow, feeling half starved, and he chuckled at himself.

She was excited as the burgers came and were set in front of them. This one seemed bigger than the ones she had seen Connor eat before. Which was good, because she was incredibly hungry. Even so her hunger could wait for a few more words, as she was glad that Connor made some sort of reference to believing in God...well, since that day at the church. She reached over and put her hand on one of his, smiling at him.

"He is watching. If he were not, I feel I would never have met you. " she took a moment to reflect on how much she had fallen in love since then. "and he also answers prayers....but for miracles, God works in halves. You must do your share of work. I met you and you invited me to find the medallion...but I had to accept and fight against my nature..."

She looked around, letting go of his hand and glancing at her burger, "Besides...i believe with a little more work, we can create a large miracle of our own." she finished, smiling. She then picked up her burger and began to eat it, hardly being able to hold ack how good it was when she did. She blushed slightly and tried to ignore a couple interested peoples' glances.

Connor nodded, and watched her smiling as she bit into the burger, wondering himself what a large Miracle would be. The end of supernatural kind? But then, there some good things, like the faerie, who helped with things like plants, drinkable water and an end to them, might mean an end to the human race, to earth. He chuckled as Elizabeth blushed, and said loudly to others around "what? Haven't you ever had a burger so good, you just can't hold back? Bah, you just don't understand us burger enthusiasts" he picked up his own burger, bitting in to it, and right then, it was probably the best thing he had ever tasted, having not had breakfast.

He had soon finished it, and wiped his fingers on a napkin. He was still for a minute, as he pondered the gusto with which he had eaten his burger, and only after he was certain there was nothing supernatural about it, that it was Gluttony or Greed of the Deadly sins effecting him, but rather his own love for burgers, he relaxed. He smiled, finishing off his coke.

"I don't know if it was some Devine intervention or something. I just did what I felt was right, not killing you when I first saw you. I think...the hunt for the medallion just gave me a chance to...well give me hope that not everything had to be set in stone, that I didn't have to kill to be a hunter"

She had also inhaled her burger, and even licked her lips and fingers. She still had a mostly full glass of water. She pulled it over and sipped at it. If she wasn't so worried about Connor, she would have ordered another one. No doubt the cooks were pleased at how much they seemed to enjoy their fare.

She shook her head at Connor's lack of faith. "I got tired of being as i was, so i helped people in an attempt to retain my inner huamnity. You and I both know that if it had been Marl, or a passing hunter...or if you had found me any later...I would be dead." she sighed at that, "And you were sent because you both were capable of seeing me behind what I was...and you were planning to go find the medallion. " she smiled happily and sipped at her water quickly before talking again, not letting him get a word in. "When we met...You were dead inside, and I was losing my humanity. I don't think it is the work of coincidence that a dead thing losing their humanity and a human thinking they were dead inside met and made such a perfect fit...Now look at us Connor...I've gotten my only wish granted, and you can't tell me that you didn't feel the best that you've felt in more than four years. Especially after last night."

She smiled slightly and sipped her water again.

Connor sighed, because he couldn't really argue with that. It didn't mean that he truly believed, but something had brought Marl to him, had saved him, had prevented him from becoming a vampire, and given him the cure he needed to make Elizabeth human again. Who was he to say that it wasn't god? So he nodded, "Right, right" He said with amusement and nodded. He chuckled, and said, "Did you want some desert?" He asked, to simply change the conversation slightly, not wanting to get into a whole debate about god and divine intervention.

He shifted his empty plate, wondering if they could order some burgers to go, and leaned against the table. He knew they should go soon, his face at least might draw unwanted attention, and he knew he'd have to do something about that soon. He had a hacker friend who might help, might get the heat off people looking for someone with a similar description to him. Even if this was a hunter establishment, it was best to stay on the down low.
