Derek lead the group through some thick brush, he used his spear as a walking stick. The air was hot and humid, sweat dripped down Derek's face. They walked in silence for a few minutes until Derek stopped. "Do you think we could stop here?" There was a wide open grassy field, and a little stream beside it. "We can build a shelter and get some water over there" Derek pointed out.

Brandy looked around the clearing, taking a step forward till she was next to Derek. "It's perfect." She said. In her mind she was thinking about everything. A water source. The beach isn't too far away. Trees were all around them and plently of herbs and plant-life was nearby. Seriously, perfect.

Alli followed her group from behind, until they stopped to choose the grassy field as their camp. Hmmm, I guess it won't be as bad as I thought it would be she placed her bag on to a grassy spot and dusted her hands from the dirt. Swiping the sweat on her neck with her shirt, she took her bottle of water and took a good drink out of it.
Facing her members, "I can go get some scraps of wood to start a fire tonight" she suggested.

"It'll work." he said as he looked ad the trees. He walked over to one, and climbed it. He sat on a branch and looked over the island, checking places he'd want to see later. He saw a few broken down tribes-buildings, lots of trees, and large hill, etc. "Are any of you good at hunting?" he shouted down to them. He knew they'd need food, eventually, and he knew they'd need to kill the animals to do that, but he woudn't be able to do it himself. If any of them were good at hunting, he could make a bird call and attract some birds.

"No idea... there's some plants and fruits isn't there?" Sinclair held his bag to his stomach and sat down.

"I hunt all the time with my dad, I can try to hunt some boar, i saw some poop while we were walking here." Derek's grip around the spear tightened. Derek carefully made his way up the tree that Randy was on. "I feel like Tarzan right now" Derek chuckled, one hand holding a spear, the other holding onto a branch. Derek spotted movement in a nearby bush, he quietly slid down the tree. Derek got low to the ground, he could hear rustling. Derek threw his spear the bush, a loud noise came from the bush. Derek ran over and pulled the spear out, it was covered in blood. "I hope you guys are hungry for bacon."

"I hate bacon, sorry. But there's trees! What's not to love about trees?!" Sinclair yelped out.

"Becon will work..." he said while gagging a bit. Sure, he loved the animals, but he wasn't a vegan or anything. He'd eat them if he had to. "Anyways, I know lots of bird calls, and when I call, it normally tends to attract birds. I was thinking I could call, and you could kill them with your spear. We'd have plenty of food from birds." he suggested to Derek. He looked over to Sinclair. "Trees are awesome! Especially if they're high up, if they're low, they're not as much fun." he said.

Alli headed towards the tree, looking for some decent sized chunks of wood. After gathering an armful of them, she struggled her way back to the camp and dropped them onto the ground. After catching her breath, "Will this be enough?" She asked leaning, placing her hands on top of her knees.

Brandy was, while this was going on, walking around the field with her herbs book looking at all the different plants. When she saw a new plant she would add a rough sketch of it and then would write down it's characteristics. "Hmm, interesting." She said quietly to herself kneeling by a plant near the water. It's roots seen and dug deeply into the earth under the water. "A water-type plant. Doesn't need to be fully submerged of course. Can probably be submerged fully or not be submerged and still function perfectly." She mumbled while writing that down as part of a hypothesis.

She could hear the others discussing food and although she wasn't verbally speaking she could still hear the conversation. And they all seemed to have that under control. She glanced behind her when Alli came back with wood for the fire. "Should be enough." She said softly to herself. In her head she was thinking about the fire and it seemed to be the perfect amount to make a highly functioning fire.

Derek picked up the heavy boar, the blood dripped onto his shirt. "I'm going to start skinning this guy, i would look away if i had a weak stomach" Derek walked further from the camp, he didn't want other animals smelling the blood. He took out his knife and started cutting away at the boar. After about 10 minutes, Derek was covered in blood, but he had slices of meat to start cooking. Derek wiped the sweat off his forehead, blood smeared his face, "Gross" Derek placed the raw meat on a piece of wood, he then handed it to Alli. "I can help start the fire, i just need to rinse off first" Derek walked over to Brandy he took off his shirt and started to wash himself in the creek.

Brandy had looked away when Derek mentioned skinning the boar. She didn't have a weak stomach, actually she loved horror movies and such. So, it was not really a huge 'OMG' thing for her. She didn't really mind it. And when he walked over and took off his shirt and began cleaning himself she paid close attention to the plant and to see if it reacted. She'd already tested the plant to see how sensitive it was. The stems were actually quite sensitive to touch, almost breaking under the slightest pressure.

She then noticed that with the disturbance of the water the leaves of the plant turned a darker shade. She eagerly and quickly wrote that down in notebook. "Interesting." She said quietly. She kept her eyes on the plant, water and Derek to see if anything he did affected the plant any more then it already has. It seemed as if it didn't. After writing down a few more notes she then began looking in the water for any plant life in the water she may not have seen before.

"Alright" Ali responded, receiving the meat on top of the wood. With her other hand she fanned herself with the paper she got for the scavenger hunt, to cool her face off from the heat. The last thing she wanted was to get a heat stroke. She looked around to see what the other members were doing.

Randy saw Derek start skinning it, and when he took off some of the skin, he gagged, and ran away from the camp. He threw up in an open part of the prairie. He groaned and walked back to the camp. "I have a bit of a weak stomach, and the poor animals..." he said, while leaning on his knees. He sighed and looked away while Derek finished cutting it up, and saw the pieces roasting on the fire. He was going to have to eat that, or maybe... He shrugged and walked over to Brandy. "Find any non-lethal berries?" he asked. Maybe he wouldn't have to eat the bacon. He wasn't a vegetarian, but he found it uncomfortable to eat meat. He could if needed, but since there was berries, he might be able to eat those instead.

Brandy looked at him with understanding eyes. Poor guy. She saw him run out of camp. She thought a second before nodding moving her eyes to the far right of the field. "Yes, actually. Over there," She started, as she pointed at the far right. "There are 2 berries. Blue and Purple ones. Do not eat the Purple ones, they have toxic outer layers that will kill you within minutes of being within your body. Eat the blue ones, they are actually very good."

She'd heard of the purple berries before. They are very lethal, she remembered reading about them. The blue ones, she actually ate before and they are delicious. Taste amazing in pies.

Derek finished rinsing off, he put his blue shirt back on. He patted Randy on the back, seeing him throw up made Derek feel really bad. "Sorry about that dude." Derek walked over to the berries and picked a handful of blue ones, he handed them to Randy. Derek nodded at Randy and Brandy, he walked over to Alli and helped her get the fire started.

"Thanks." he said in response to both of them, thankingly taking the handful of blue berries. He smiled and put them in the empty Trail Mix bag. He sat down near the fire, and ate a berry. "Hmm, these are delicious!" he said while eating one. "Better than any meat I've ever eaten..." he muttered the last part.

"Jesus..." Sinclair pulled his notebook and pen back out. "What do we want this shelter to look like and what would its features be?"

Alli setted the wood up like a teepee and placed dry grass in the inside, she had read somewhere that these stuff could get on fire quickly. "Now we just need something to start the fire and I'm guessing no one brought a lighter with them." Turning around she grabbed a few pieces of wood, handing it to Derek. "You think you could start a fire with these? Like the things you watch on tv?" She asked hopefully.

Derek smiled at Alli, "I can try" Derek started rubbing the two pieces together quickly, after a few minutes the wood started smoking. Derek blew gently on the coal and threw it into the dry grass. A small fire started, Derek's face lit up. "Yes!" Derek grinned.
