What gave you the idea that they were scrapping Meta Knight? I admit I haven't been keeping up-to-date on the Smash Bros news recently but if you can show me what made you think that then I might be able to tell you whether or not I think that's an accurate assumption. Just based on what I've seen so far, that seems rather unlikely. Firstly the character roster is just based on who's been revealed so far, so I can't see them needing to scrap too many characters in order to fit the new ones in. Secondly, they've already shown that they're more than capable of balancing out overpowered or otherwise over-advantaged characters (ie: getting rid of Pit's insane recovery move that made it nigh impossible to make him fall off the stage and die), and really that they're just paying a lot of attention to detail in regards to how the characters will play and how balanced they'll all be in general - so it strikes me as odd that they'd completely get rid of him just due to the criticism of him being overpowered.Oh, and let's not forget that Sakurai, creator and director of Smash Bros, was also the creator of the Kirby franchise - and he's shown a lot of love to characters like Kirby and Dedede already, so I feel like it would take a lot to convince him to take Meta Knight off the roster.

Meta Knight is such a broken character he's been outright banned from Smash tournaments, if he returns it's most likely going to come with a multitude of tweaks.
