The road down to the hospital was a tricky one to stick to. It curved wildly left and right, interloping its way through a thickening forest. The last of the sun’s dying rays were finding it difficult to illuminate the way ahead, and Chad flicked on the full beam. The bright pale light emitted from the front of his dad’s SUV slaughtered the sense of foreboding that the dark crevices of the tree line projected with keen ire. With no shadows lurking at him from every angle, the road almost seemed serene – a time capsule, preserved by nature’s warm caress.

“Alright boys and girls,” called Chad, turning his head to face his companions, “I’m tellin’ you, my big brother over in Afghanistan came here when he was our age, and he said it scared the shit out of him.” He paused, and crimped an awkward smile, “was also where he first got laid, oddly enough, but hey ho!’

The SUV hit a bump in the road with force, but the car’s modern suspension system crippled what would have been a violent shake into an almost soothing bounce. He looked back, cursing for not paying better attention, and proceeded to drive with a bit more caution. He could see the top of the hospital silhouetted in the background, rising up over the trees with a menacing arrogance.

“Yup, there she is boys and girls, St. Helen’s Hopsital for the Criminally Insane,” he chuckled, “the scariest place in the U.S of A. Don’t know much about it, just that a lot of people got ‘deaded’ about a million years ago.”

Full beamed lights from behind consumed the SUV’s rear-view mirror; Chad squinted. “Fucking Hell Jackie, turn your God damn lights down girl,” he muttered to himself.

He slowed the SUV down to a mild 20 as he approached what appeared to be the hospital’s perimeter fence. Huge concrete blocks had been planted on the roadway, in a futile attempt by the police to prevent exactly what Chad and his friends were up to tonight. Tall crisscrossing wire flanked either side of the blocks, and stretched out into the heavy undergrowth of the forest. Up ahead, St. Helen’s stood in all her horrific glory.

It was a large white structure, with two parts protruding from either end. The ground was made up of ancient and cracked concrete that no doubt once denoted its car parking facility. Stacks of old wooden pallets were scattered around, and a few rusted metal drums complimented them. As Chad slowed the SUV to a standstill, he looked up at the darkness of the countless empty windows and balconies. Sure was a big place.

“Chad Airlines thanks you for not bitching at him for the way he drives for the duration of the journey, you are now at your destination,” said Chad, turning back to his friends with his usual stupid grin. “Please proceed by foot to the PARTY OF THE CENTURY!”

Clambering out of the driver’s side, Chad pulled a cigarette out of his jacket and plugged it in his mouth. Smoking wasn’t great for his athletic interests, but he always figured he could get away with a few years of the dirty habit before it hit him. Between then and now, he was all up for looking just that much cooler – especially with so many fine looking girls in his company.

Popping the boot, he grabbed a crate of Budweiser and then stood waiting for his friends to join him. “We goin’ in or what?”

"I suppose, don't offer me any beer though." Chel got out of the car through the door and looked up at the hospital. "They say the criminally insane rioted here... So perfect place to spend long and tedious nights!

Fuyu pho out of the car. Like usual she was the shortest one there. Fuyu hoped that no one would call her short. If someone find they would get a ruler to the chest, because Fuyu is too short to hit their face.

John pulled up and parked his Elantra behind Chad's SUV. He got out of his car and shut the door. He pulled his miniature flashlight out of his pocket and turned it on, the white light cutting through the darkness. John walked up to the others where he looked up at the Hospital. "God damn that place looks creepy," he said. "How the hell did you come up with this idea Chad," John asked, looking at the mastermind of this whole night.

It wasn't that comfortable in Janine's car... well, her parents car. The air condition was broken, the whole insides of the vehicle smelled of a shitty brand her father had and the seats weren't cleaned in long time, if ever. The only actual luxury was the speakers installed inside, which provided quite a good bass... too bad if you weren't on the same level with the taste of music with Janine, she didn't care less as she kept the KMFDM beats going so loud the car behind them could probably hear the after effects of it.

Janine was just tapping the steering wheel with her index, keeping two hands on it... she learned how to push the pedals and steer the wheel, but she didn't have much else going on, since she couldn't afford to get actual license to herself. "Aight, so which of you pansies are going to shit your pants tonight first?" Janine half shouted, turning her head a little to see the others. "Heard the place is quite sick... we can probably find some teeth or bones for sure." she said... well, honestly she didn't know anything about the place. She wasn't one to care about history.

Turning her head forward she could see the SUV in front doing a little bump, not managing to react before hitting the bump as well, which made the car shake so much Janine almost smacked her head on the steering wheel. She forced her back straight, grunting something under her breath as she took the focus back onto the driving, narrowing her eyes ever so little...

Janine slowed down the car bit later than the SUV in front, getting quite close to bumping the back of it, before just steering past it, parking next of the SUV, slowly grabbing the keys to turn the car off. "Aight chumps, out." Janine said, turning to the others before letting herself out, slamming the door behind her.

As she stepped outside, she just grinned at Chad. "See? I told you I can drive." she said.

"Well Wallace, buddy ole pal, I was so sick of us hanging out in your mom's uterus that I thought we'd try somewhere a little nicer," said Chad with a smirk. "Besides, how often is it that you get to spend the night in an abandoned hospital?"

Turning to Jackie, Chad wanted to tell her that he believed strongly she shouldn't be let near a car, but then he always found it hard to be mean to girls. Instead he cocked a smile, "you sure did girly, you sure did. Just remember the car in front can't see shit when you've got your full beams on from about two yards away."

Chad looked at his "army" as it started to assemble. It was quite a varied group, and though he was not close friends with all of them, he knew most of their names. Word must've got out pretty quickly after he had made a few initial calls about tonight's plans.

"Alright, last one inside is a raging gay lord!" Chad said with emphasised stupidity, and then leaped one of the concrete blocks and made a sprint for what he thought was the hospital's lobby.

Saoirse emerged from Jackie's small car, the door creaking slightly as she slammed it. She rolled her eyes at the abandoned building and sighed before leaning on the car, arms crossed among her chest. Typical scary hospital appearance, she thought to herself. She'd seen scarier lookin' hospitals... through the show Ghost Adventures. Personally, she thought the Linda Vista Hospital took the cake, watching the episode multiple times a few hours ago to compare. She stuck a hand in her pocket and pulled out a baby blue LED flashlight, pushing the button over and over to make sure it worked.

In the process of doing that, she shouted over to their 'ringleader', Chad, "Please don't tell me we're gonna act like little ghost hunters. I don't wanna look like an idiot asking questions to some ghost with a shitty, clichèd past, 'ight?" Siri stuffed the flashlight in her pocket, then pulled out her iPhone. She was the least prepared, only bringing two items, but she honestly didn't think any supernatural things would happen. She believed in all that crap, but never wanted to experience it first-hand. So she convinced herself that this place was just a stupid lie.

Fuyu headed into the building following Chad. She looked at the group,they were a ragtag group of weirdos, but that didn't matter.

Leah sighed as she stepped out of the vehicle. She stuffed her hands into her pockets before looking around her. Her eyes stopped on the looming building. "Ugh, why am I here?" She mumbled under her breath. Oh yeah! She had nothing to do. And she was not going to play Dungeons & Dragons again. She's been playing it for 24 hours straight. She then looked at all her other friends before settling her eyes on Chad. It was his bright idea after all.

She then noticed him run for the building and decided 'Whatever'. She was not running unless she had to. Because of Chad? Nope. So, she began walking calmly into the building after Chad. Her strides long as she walked with confidence and purpose.

"Homophobia, suits you..." Chel said to Chad, quite irritated, before dashing after him. "This will probably be more than a night, if we follow tropes!"

Janine was almost amused by the sight of the guys charging into the yard and to the lobby, as she walked to the trunk of the car and opened it up. "Oh don't worry Apple, they get tired of it at some point." Janine said to Saoirse, leaning her head over the opened trunk to just make sure she was even around and Janine just wasn't talking to herself. As she grabbed the grocery bag she had stuffed her drinks for the night, she slammed the trunk shut and locked it, yanking the door few times to make sure it kept close.

It was at that time Janine took the first look of the actual hospital and its size. It was quite impressive, since the town they lived in wasn't really as big as this hospital would seem to make. "...Guess we better get in there before we lose the sight of those guys completely. Last thing I want to do tonight is being on search patrol whole night long." she said, before walking casually for the hospital and to the lobby, the clinging of the bottle in the plastic bag covering the sound of her footsteps in the dark.

Manson stepped out of John's car, pushing the door shut. He looked at the hospital and a grin spread across his face "Ooh, creepy," he said whilst pulling out his phone to take a pic. He rotated it sideways and extended his arms away from his face. As he took the pic he realized that the battery was only at thirty percent. Meh, whatever. I'll charge it when I get home, He thought to himself. He shoved his phone back into his pocket, hearing some of the stitching rip. Dangit, not again!

He looked up to see Chad assessing everyone before yelling, "Alright, last one inside is a raging gay lord!" before leaping over a concrete block and making a dash to the hospital. He decided to ignore his pocket and race after them, aiming for what must be a hospital lobby. A smile stretched across his face, he felt great. "This is gonna be bad ass!" he said, pumping a fist into the air.

"... Yeah, sneaking into an abandoned hospital where people have had sex. Seems like a great idea!" Chel replied."Honestly why did you think this was a good idea?"

Chad was happily throwing himself over stacks of pallets, weaving between rusted drums and peering up at the oppressing mass of the structure when he heard Chel utter something downright bizarre. He stopped, and frowned at him in a state of deep confusion.

"Doesn't that question answer itself, dude?" He asked.

Something rattled ahead; the sound of metal clattering against metal. Chad shot a glance towards the hospital, and fumbled for his flash light. With a click, a bright white beam cast itself from the lens and illuminated the several glass windows of St. Helen's lobby. The two large doors were rattling against the chain that held them together. For the first time, Chad felt a feeling of unease, and a shiver climbed its way up his spine. With a slight tremble, he shone the torch from left to right, and studied the menacing shadows. Not wanting to lose face, he promptly shrugged.

"Sure is creepy, this is gonna be fun," he half lied, and walked steadily towards the rattling doors. "Odd, I don't feel a breeze strong enough to be moving these fellahs."

Just as he went to place his hand on them, they abruptly stopped moving. He was jolted by their inaction, and then released a long sighing whistle. "Alright, now that was a little creepy, must've been er a current or something coming from inside."

Though the door had been firmly locked by the chains, the panes in the woodwork had been smashed through long ago. With feigned courage, he ducked low and entered.

John shook his head and smirked at Chad's explanation. When Chad began running in John followed behind, his flashlight waving madly as he ran. He didn't know what this night had in store but he couldn't wait to find out. As long as no one went Exorcist. He didn't do evil ghosts that possessed people. Or serial killers. But he didn't expect Jason to pop out of a hospital room.

Fugu ran in, not bothering to duck. I guess there are some good sides to being sho- Fuyu interrupted her own thought, loathing herself for almost calling her short.

Leah saw the whole thing and to be honest? She was a healthy-ish dose of freaked out. But, she didn't dare show it. When Chad entered to creepy room while ducking, she was conflicted. In her panicked mind she was thinking 'I should go with him. To make sure he's okay' but another part of her was thinking 'Eh, he should be fine. Just stay here....near the exit'. But, she was wayy too much of a good person to just let him go alone. But, after all, Fugu just ran after him. So maybe it was safe. 'Maybe not.' A voice in her head said filled with doubt. She ignored it for now. So, against her better judgement, she ducked and followed after him. Following after Chad.....when was that ever a good idea? Look at where she is now!

Chel followed in the others footsteps and slid feet first under the wood panels. "Wow! You didn't even have to duck!" Chel smiled at Fuyu, not intending any offense.

Fuyu's hands curled around the ruler as Chel said those words.
"Don't call me short!" She shouted as she swung the ruler at him.

Chel leapt back, but still managed to get hit on the collar. He let out a half sigh half scream. "It was a compliment! Jesus!"
