Character Sheet - Sir Beowulf

Name:
Corporal Warren McFalsky

Appearance / Description:
At first glance, your local Warren McFalsky might not appear to be much of a threat. He isn't the tallest, while he also isn't the shortest, standing at a rough height of five feet and eleven inches and weighing in at one hundred and sixety-four pounds. Oddly enough, for a tech enthusiast like him, he doesn't wear glasses. His eyes are a dark maroon color, and his hair is rather short and brown. When not wearing the green fatigues of an army personnel, Warren usually prefers to go with a black shirt and pants, not giving enough of a damn to choose something fancy. He's rather young, only twenty-five years of age. Still, Warren went through boot camp like any other soldier out there, and has more muscle on him than you might expect.

Call Sign:
Warren, despite his obvious lamentations, is called 'Virgin' mostly due to him being the youngest and newest addition to the squad of spec-ops. Warren really isn't an actual virgin, even he's got a few tricks up his sleeve.

Age:
Twenty-Five.

Gender:
Male.

Personnel Description:
Most would describe Warren as a 'Happy-Go-Lucky' kind of guy. He's rather optimistic, even in the worst of situations. He enjoys joking around, and has a bit of an off humor. Once a man goes into a war, the ol' pie to the face and banana peels don't really do the trick. He'll laugh about most things, a dead person shitting themselves, the irony of a man who's head was busted open by a medkit. Still, its not like he doesn't care, its just that civvies tend to get in the way of things, and shit hits the fan if you involve them. Warren is best at ease when he is using his electronics.

Whether its an old '97 Windows or a state of the art gismo like H.O.W.A.R.D, he knows how to use them all. Back in school, most kids would come to him if they needed assistance with computers, and he was a champ at it. Almost got suspended a few times for hacking into the network. Still, in an apocalyptic situation like the one now, Warren might quickly find himself useless. Sure, he's good with a gun and is fit, but he doesn't know his way around explosives or how to pull shrapnel out of a body. Still, he's willing to improvise easily on the field, able to scrap a microwave or an engine to fix up his equipment.

Backstory Description:
Warren was born in a small town in Ohio. Yeah, not really original, eh? Still, his story isn't completely botched. Warren's father was a high-ranking military member. Unfortunately, said father died during the Iraq War. He didn't get completely over that. Still, back in the 90s or so, Warren got by pretty well. His family was middle-classed, and he went to a pretty good school. Since he was so technically inclined, everyone came to him with their problems. More often than not, he just installed Adobe Reader to fix it. He also almost got suspended a few times, but Warren's father managed to persuade the school that he wouldn't cause anymore problems. Really, what's wrong with making the school speakers play out hardcore metal music? Really, they were just overreacting.

Taking a cue from his father, and a cue from the technological advances the military had, Warren jumped into BT at the age of 18. It was a major challenge keeping up, as he never really had done much physical activity, even if he wasn't overweight. Still, he didn't flunk out, and managed to pass like all the other cadets. Still, he was the only one who paid attention to their more computer orientated tasks. As such, he was designated platoon tech specialist. During the 'War on Terrorism' he aided in at least fourteen unmanned aerial drone strikes. The attacks still send shivers down his spine, as civilian casualties were high. Overall, Warren was just high enough on the totem pole, and had decent connections due to his father, to join The Division, and was a rather late addition as well.

Equipment

Inventory:

  • A rather large and bulky transmitter/receiver radio that rests on his back. You can pretty much use it to call command from anywhere.

  • Enough rations and a water supply to last a week.

  • Other than that, mostly standard military equipment, knife, torch, rucksack, etc.

  • A rather advanced tool kit and equipment, heavy solders, wrenches, etc.

Unique Item:

Weapons:
As a primary weapon, Warren prefers to use an M14 Designated Marksman Rifle. It might not have the spray and pray attitude of the M16 that other grunts use, but it still packs a punch and has a longer range than others. The rifle uses 7.62mm rounds, and he usually carries up to ten twenty round magazines. As for a sidearm, Warren uses an M1911 Pistol that uses .45 ACP ammunition. He carries up to five magazines that carry seven rounds on him normally.

Talents:
If you've got a machine in front of you, Warren is who you call to operate it. Want reconnaissance? Send in Harold, as the robot can get in quick and fast, not calling much attention to itself as it goes. Hell, the thing doesn't even make much noise. The most it makes is a slight whirring sound. Other than that, Warren is a decent shot. Not exactly Marksman quality, but he'll hit the target eight out of ten times. When it comes to other skills, don't prop a bomb in front of him and expect him to de-arm it. Warren and explosives don't go well together, and he's more likely to throw up if you bring in someone who's missing an arm and a leg.

Addition Information:
His favorite type of cake is carrot cake.

WIP

Name: James Wolff

Appearance:

Call Sign: Warbound

Age: 29

Gender: Male

Personnel Description:
James is a relatively easy to talk to person, and is usually open to have long discussions. But, be sure not to distract him when he's in a bad mood or focused. He is the type of person who can give him complete attention to a job, and in those moments he will only respond with only a word or two. Still, even when he's focused, he is a considerate person and the decisions that he makes involves the whole picture. Thus, even when it seems like he's only focused on accomplishing the mission, he is actually thinking about how to make sure his team will be safe the entire time as well, and observing the area for changing conditions that may help or hurt him, the mission, and his team.

Backstory Description:
James joined the army through its ROTC program and officially joined as a 2nd Lt. at the age of 21. However, during his time in ROTC, James took numerous supplementary classes such as "Future Warfare", and others in the US MIlitary Academy. Thus, at least on paper, he was one of the most competent new officers from this class of ROTC recruits. When he was deployed in Afghanistan, his officers noted how he seemed excessively concerned and almost downright paranoid. James had been concerned of numerous security issues that he saw. For example, the US guards weren't taking precaution when checking IDs. In fact, whenever natives came to the base with an ID, the US soldiers would barely take a look to make sure that the person who gave the ID was the same as the picture on the ID. Thus, James had been complaining to his officers that it was very possible that an insurgent could obtain someone else's ID, and just practically drive in. James' officers ignored his warnings and said that the insurgents didn't have the capability of obtaining IDs. A few months later, a suicide bomber had driven a car filled with explosives into the base after given access with a fake ID. There was US 7 casualties in the incident and at least 20 Iraqi casualties.

It was from that episode that someone higher up noticed reports that had James' warnings. This higher up happened to be a Colonel and the officer in charge of the US Asymmetric Warfare Group, a special mission group that specialized in observing, identifying potential threats, and coming up with solutions to make the US military less open to such a threat whether it is through giving special training to units fighting against insurgents, or coming up with short term policy changes that the government should take. It was here that James truly excelled and fit in. He had been taught about numerous threats to the US and had been among a small, elite group of people who sought to make things like dirty bombs, IEDs, and other unconventional weapons and tactics less effective against the US. However, all those years that he worked there, every soldier in the unit knew about the threats of a EMP or a biological attack on the US, and how unprepared the US was against such attacks. However, the US government was unwilling to make the changes that the unit suggested due to a lot of red tape, and concerns about elections. The only solace that they could find was that Bush had passed Directive 51, which was a small change in the right direction. Still, it a change in the right direction. It was in 2010 that James was attached to the Division as an adviser, and although not officially a part of the group, he has still been an active part in it.

Inventory:
(Everything you see in the picture)
MICH Helmet with head lamp
8x 30 round STANAG Magazines
3x 15 round 9x19mm magazines
Hydration Pack
Universal Battery Charger
M50 Joint Service General Purpose Mask
2x M67 Fragmentation Grenades
2x M18 Smoke Grenades
2x M84 Stun Grenades
3 Signal Flares
First Aid Kit

Unique Item:
Portable Chemistry Set - This set is usually meant to allow soldiers to obtain and test samples and see if there is a presence of some harmful chemical or pathogen. But, it also serves as a decent base to do other chemically related... experiments.

Weapons:
HK416 Carbine Variant
Beretta M9

Talents:
James isn't an amazing shot, or anything like that. What he is good at though is assessing battlefield conditions, and exploiting weakness that he sees. So, its not uncommon to lose track of James in the middle of battles since he's already went off in a wide flank. He adopts his very mobile, aggressive, close quarter fighting style from the insurgents that he fought and studied. Thus, he is a prime example of how maneuver warfare can be applied on a tactical scale. Also, as a member of AWG, he is a pretty good teacher in military tactics. He is also capable of handling explosives, chemicals, and other dangerous things. Also, he is a passing field medic, but getting attention from an actual corpsman or doctor is obviously better.

So SirBeowulf up there showed this RP to me, and I figured "why not." So, here's a character, feel free to accept or deny it at your leisure.

Name:
Miranda Crosley

Call Sign:
Red, after her unorthodox hair, and favorite color.

Appearance/Description:
At 5'6" and 120 pounds Red isn't any bigger than an average woman her age. Actually, she is almost exactly average size. Her build is similarly average, if a bit thin, but underneath her clothes she is rather toned. She wouldn't be in the military if she wasn't. Her namesake hair is a somewhat strange dull red color and her eyes are brown. She wears her hair short for practicality reasons, only going down to her neck. She also seems to constantly have a rather focused expression on her face at all times which, to someone that doesn't know her, makes her look slightly angry.

Age:
29

Gender:
Female.

Personnel Description:
Red's personality can be best described as "deadpan." In almost every situation she tends to keep a straight face, rarely letting out more than a light chuckle or an angry grunt. That's not to say she's unemotional, it's just that she doesn't show it very much. She tends to come off as aloof due to this, but on the contrary she tends to be very meddlesome, since she always seems to feel that she has a say in arguments, even in ones not involving her. She also speaks very plainly, and has a tendency for sarcasm, even in times where it would be out of place. However, she is slightly odd to talk to, due to always leaving an extra half-second pause before she speaks. It's not large, but it's noticeable, and mildly awkward.

Backstory Description:
Miranda was actually born in the UK, and lived in a rather urban area. She lived there most of her childhood, until she was about 14 or so, when her parents moved to the U.S. with her. All throughout school, in both countries, she was always a star athlete, whether it be the track team or the swimming team. It wasn't until the time she moved to the U.S. that she got an interest in guns when her grandfather (that had been in the U.S. his whole life, and was an army veteran) took her shooting. She loved it - the calm, silent afternoons spent hunting the forest, the louder evening spent at firing ranges. She had almost grown up from that point on with a rifle in her hands, and she had, overall, a wonderful childhood. Except for her grades in school, which hovered around straight D's.

Her poor grades locked her out of almost every college save for community ones, and she never had any interest in them anyway. Rather, as soon as she graduated at 18 she took her grandfather's advice and went into the army. Her years as an athlete in highschool, as well as all the shooting really payed off. She excelled in it, and as a regular soldier was sent on several missions overseas, her calm demeanor a boon on the frontlines, both to her and the other soldiers who always looked to her as a rock of stability while they and everyone else were panicking.

She managed to gain the interest those looking for well-trained soldiers and ended up on the Division as a Designated Marksmen, the same role she always excelled at.

Inventory:
A decently-sized military rucksack containing rations for a week, batteries, a flashlight, and other generic military tools, such as a knife.
A weapon cleaning kit.
2 Fragmentation grenades.
1 HE grenade.
2 Smoke grenades.
1 Signal Flare (the red smoke kind, not the flare gun kind)

Unique Item:

Weapons:
-M110 SASS (Semi-Automatic Sniper System, a 7.62×51mm NATO rifle. 20-round magazine.)
-8 extra magazines.

-MP7 (A small, compact HK 4.6×30mm SMG. 20-round magazine.)
-6 extra magazines.

Talents:
Red's an absolute crackshot with her rifle, able to hit a target a quarter-mile away with about 90% accuracy; she is also extremely cool under fire, to the point where she people tend to vastly underestimate a problem she might be in simply because she sounds so relaxed. An example would be one time where she sent a message to her squadmates via radio that she was under "mild supression" and when they got there they found her hiding behind the ruins of a house's wall with a .50 cal machine gunner shooting more bullets into it than should be necessary for one person.

Unfortunately, her reaction time isn't great. Her calm attitude makes her odd in conversations, since there's almost always a small delay before she starts speaking, since she thinks through almost everything she says and does carefully. This means that if she has the advantage in a firefight, or has enough time to gather her thoughts, she's deadly, but if caught off-guard she has a tendency to either freeze up or dive for the nearest cover, hoping she can hide behind it long enough to just think.

She is also rather poor in hand-to-hand combat because of this as well, but that's why she has her MP7. In an actual fist-fight, she tends to behave about as well as someone that only vaguely understands military CQC discipline and tends to horribly botch it, unless the other fighter is as equally unskilled.

Addition Information:
For some ungodly reason, she actually likes the taste of the military-provided MRE's, despite them being universally considered terrible.

Name
Irina Babish

Call Sign
"Big Guy"

Appearance Description

Irina's Chinese heritage leaves her a bit robbed in the height category: she's only five feet tall flat. She hasn't let that hold her back, though: she may be short, but she makes up for it in strength. She's weight lifted since the age of 12, and her stint in the marines has left her strong and muscular: 125 pounds is a bit heavy for someone of her height, but one can tell by looking at her that the extra weight is muscle, not flab.

Irina has a bit of a punk thing going on with her hair: she recently shaved down the sides and spends a few minutes every morning spraying it to keep her chin-length bangs out of her face. Hey head is a bit tall, with a sharp jaw and wide chin. Her very-dark-brown eyes match her hair and narrow eyebrows, and underneath her round nose she has a very narrow mouth..

Age
26

Gender
Female

Personnel Description
Irina is an extremely self-confidant individual. She has an odd machismo that can lead to some interesting situations, especially if one triggers her equally elevated sense of competition. She's not especially intelligent, though she's by no means dumb; she managed to get a degree with a minor and manage good grades, after all. She's just not the type to seem particularly intelligent.
Irina has a friendly competitive sort of friendship. She enjoys doing things with people rather than sitting around or talking. She's affectionate in a physical manner, though she hasn't injured enough of her friends to really be considered dangerous. If she really really likes someone, though, she has a very tsundere way of showing it.

Backstory Description
Irina doesn't remember anything of the life she lived before coming to America. She was adopted from a Russian orphanage by a non-wed lesbian couple from New York at the age of 3. No one in the Chinese refugee camp near the town where she was found had claimed responsibility for her.
She didn't end up with too-odd a childhood, all things considered. Her mothers did a spot-on job of raising her and allowed her a lot of freedom: when she expressed unusual interest in "boy" sports they did nothing to stop her, even encouraging her and paying for her football and boxing lessons. They managed to largely shield her from the public opinion about their relationship, though she did end up in the principle's office a few times from breaking a few less-tactful students' faces. She wasn't a stellar student, but she was good at what she put her mind to: her sports. At 12 she began weight lifting when her football coach suggested that she was too weak for the sport.
For all that her parents were able to provide, they didn't have the money to get her to college. That was fine with her: she had been planning on entering the military, anyway. The Marines, specifically. She went right from JROTC to her dream job, and in four years managed to not die in the conflict in Iraq, and made it back to reap the benefits, namely a free pass to college to get her degree in Electrical Engineering while staying on the reserves. Part of her "job" as the reserves was to stay ready as a Order 51 agent, so when everything goes downhill, she's one of those who gets to try to right things.
Inventory
-- Heavy armor, including integrated standard equipment (HUD, radio, gas mask) housed within the helmet. This armor is rated for greater than level 4 threats: it was specifically designed to allow a soldier to continue operation after sustaining multiple shots to the abdomen or head from an AK47. The armor consists of a inner layer of Dragonskin body armor, on top of which are level 4 ceramic plates around the torso, neck, and legs. Finally another layer of even-thicker kevlar-wrapped metal plates lies over all of that. It is capped off with a bullet-resistant helmet: to provide maximum protection, the helmet has no glass, instead using a virtual reality system combined with cameras to provide vision. This conveniently removes the necessity of a separate HUD as it is integrated into the helmet. The full suit is about 120 pounds.
-- Camel-back water backpack. It's hard to take off the helmet to stay hydrated, so Irina uses a camel back to avoid that little annoyance.
-- Extra rounds for her shotgun; extra magazines and loose ammo for her pistol.

Unique Item
Raytheon XOS 2 updated to be workable in non-tethered form.

The XOS 2 is an exoskeleton that allows a soldier to lift a considerably-greater load and carry equipment without placing the weight upon the soldier herself. This allows not only the ability to carry heavier things, but also less fatigue for a soldier who would otherwise be burdened down by dragging the average 90-pound equipment load of a rifle infantryman.

Weapons
-- Kel-tec KSG
-- FN Five-Seven

Talents
-- Formal Marine training
-- Recently-acquired bachelors in Electrical Engineering with a minor in Economics (for all the good that will do them)
-- Can clean and jerk almost 2 times her weight

He told his men to get out of the town, by going in each building, that would lead to the hills nearby. The men followed Javier as if he was the captain and they got out of the town with only two dead, it was good for someone that didn't train to become a captain. Appearance Description: Thomas isn't fat nor skinny. He is probably the perfect weight for his height, being 6' tall and weighing around 165lb. He has obviously kept himself fit and tends to look younger than his actual age. Or at least he did before everything hit the fan and grooming was a little easier. He has chocolate brown hair in which he keeps reasonably short (when such a thing is an option), somewhat thick eyebrows and usually some stubble. By far the most noticeable things about his face though are his distinctively crooked nose and his grey eyes that are seemingly always filled with determination. As a finishing note he has no tattoos and only a few minor scars. His clothing is currently the same as in the picture provided above.

Name: Thomas Hunt
Call Sign: Taurus
Age: 35
Gender: Male

Personnel Description: Thomas is foremost an extremely tough individual. The S.A.S instilled in him the traits of doggedness and bravery and to this day those characteristics define who he is, or at the very least who he tries to be. He is a kind man who doesn't believe in things such as the end justifies the means. The years have taught him that in most circumstances it is impossible to know what the end is, so how can one justify what they do not know. He carries this hard learned lesson with him and does his best to help people when he can for after years of living in grey areas morally he has learned to love simple things. Helping someone will always be helping someone. Though even that isn't always that simple. So yeah, when it comes to Thomas simple is a theme you will see often. If it can be achieved without getting complicated in any way he is all the happier, though he will still work just as hard if the mission is complicated, he just wont do it with quite as much happiness. Finally Thomas is something of a morale machine. He can seemingly make light of any situation and in his line of work that damn well means something.

History: Thomas grew up in the East End of London. The capital of England. He wasn't built for his upbringing funnily enough. Even as a kid Thomas was brave, kind, determined and most shockingly, often happy. Pretty much the exact opposite of most everyone he knew. His dad just didn't care. He was permanently jaded and always mentally and emotionally distant, as were most of Thomas' friends although they at least had some youthful enthusiasm. It was not at all a happy upbringing but Thomas found joy and brotherhood whenever and wherever he possibly could. In friends at first, then in a gang and finally in the armed forces.

He wasn't at all happy as a teenage gangster. Like already mentioned, he simply wasn't built for the lifestyle. He was brave and strong, but not at all cold or ruthless. Mostly though he was too loyal. If he had stayed in his gang he would have been betrayed and imprisoned or dead in no time. That is likely a matter of fact. To escape from the depression of city life though Thomas joined the British army at seventeen, looking to go into The Rifles; infantry. He struggled through being disciplined by another, it was something he had never experienced before and soon he found great joy in the lifestyle. He was a natural with a rifle and came out as the second best marksman in training. He was always one of the fastest when they ran also and he generally made an all around great soldier and occasional leader.

So, with soldiering being a lifestyle he genuinely enjoyed and with no other imagined path to follow Thomas decided to throw himself fully into soldiering. Four years into his initial six he decided to try out for the Special Air Service; Britain's famed special forces. The training was the hardest thing Thomas had ever done in his life and to this day if one was to ask him such a question he would still answer the same. It was brutal. Designed so that no matter how fit, strong or determined you are it will always wear you down so that you're near physically dead. He persevered though and after five weeks of physical and mental torture he earned his beret.

After more than ten years serving in a Counter Terrorism squad in The Regiment, mainly as an Assaulter, Thomas was recruited into The Division by his former Captain. Finally willing to semi-retire Thomas agreed to settle down as what was basically a sleeper agent. That is how he ended up in New York.

Inventory:
Extra Magazines (Ammo – 5.45x39mm and 9mm)
Gas Mask
Three Bottles of Water
Six Energy Bars
Three Meals Ready to Eat
Five Cans of Dog Food

Unique Companion: Grunt is a multi-purpose war dog and Thomas' best friend. Grunt can detect enemy ambushes, find food and supplies and sniff out and track down missing companions, if they are at a reasonable distance at least. He also can act as a sentry when needed and given time in a place and with people can even act as a messenger. Of course Grunt is also quite a dangerous dog when it comes to enemies but Thomas is extremely protective of him, treating him like half a soldier, half a son. Aside from in circumstances so rare one should pray they never happen he will not put the dog in any danger he deems unnecessary.
