I have been playing a lot of Call of Warhammer (excellent mod for Medieval 2: TTW) and it have brought back my love for Warhammer Fantasy Battles universe and I would enjoy doing some RP in that world. I have noticed that there is quite a few WH40k RPs, but its less science and more fantasy counterpart is kind of overlooked here and I think it´s a shame. There is a lot of opportunities for roleplay in this world, we could be mercenaries fighting in Kislev against Chaos invasion, treasure hunters seeking riches in goblin and skaven infested mines, witch-hunters weeding out chaos cults... possibilites are endless.
Sooo, anyone interested?

Already trying to join 2 warhammer 40k RP's, why not add a fantasy one.
I'm game. Reading your post reminded me of Warhammer Mark of Chaos, some good times...

Always preferred fantasy to 40k, but we'll see how things go I guess.

We could do the wtich hunter thing. Stumbling upon a particular cult and following down the rabbit hole the uncover that this cult is impossibly, frighteningly powerful and deep in the empire. Go all over the Empire form capitol to small villages and hidden cult shrines and altars in deep caves and forests. The only downside I can think of would be the limited race palate. Humans, Maybe high elves or dwarves would care the most about the potential of the growing number of human cults. wood elves as rare, They wouldn't really give two shits about anyone or anything outside their forests.

But if we want to diversify and allow a greater option of races to play and enemies to fight, a Mercenary company is always an option. We don't have to be just in Kilsev though we can certainly be paid to go there for a while. But we can also travel and build a name for ourselves.
I don't know. Personally I think I want a good witch hunter roleplay. that mood may change in time but for now.

Last minute thought. We can be a troop of high elves scouting out a possible Druuchii Military invasion force or something. I don't know that idea needs refinement and is pretty half baked. I just thought it had potential.

I don't know I like the horror/mystery/intrigue/action/investigation combo that the witch hunter roleplay promises.

I like the mercenary company idea, honestly. Maybe if we had them set up in the Border Princes? Since that's always a good place to be a mercenary. XD

I've always liked the idea of being an empire soldier, having to fight hand to hand against these towering warriors of chaos and monsters. We could maybe be a retinue of empire soldiers accompanying a priest, some inspiration coming from one of the best cut scenes ever, the start of Mark of Chaos. Anyone seen that?
I personally think it would be interesting, being soldiers who have to work together to take down a warrior of chaos, with all the comradery that it brings.

This is it

Well I like both ideas. Witch-hunters and mercenaries. We could combine those two ideas. Maybe some prominent and pious (zealous) Sigmarite and witch-hunter decided to have his own little crusade against enemies within Empire and for that reason he assembled a group of same minded individuals + paid some freelancers to have some extra muscles.
As for races I think that only humans and dwarfs would be really possible maybe with halflings from Moot.I am not that sure about HElfs, person playng that char would have to have a good reason to be with group.

Ya the elves in this game are real pricks. The high elves think that the humans are to stupid to fight chaos. And the wood elves don't care. And the dwarves will let everybody burn in the end if it means their holds get to stay standing.

Something like that. HElves are snobish pricks, but they are still kind of badass. Wood elves are bunch of insane sadistic hippies and DElves are just evil (but they have Malus Darkblade so some points for that). So not much a choice for RP like this.
Dwarf are different sort. They have their districts in cities and have close ties with humans and if they take oath, they are going to do it, no matter what.

But first they have to have a damn good reason to take that oath. And they don't give such oaths to those outside their race lightly. And while ya they do have their district in the capitol. Most cities don't have a 'dwarven district' as much as they just have a few dwarves who realized 'hey, I can make good money in human lands because their craftsmanship sucks' Most dwarves still look down on humans as beneath them and unable to understand or comprehend anything of real importance like oaths and basic dwarven technology so they don't even bother trying.

ya you get some dwarves who aren't pricks. And there definatly is a decent amount of them. But most are just as elitist as the elves really.

They maybe look down on humans, but Empire is still their greatest allie. They work with empire more then elves do. There are dwarfs who oversee mining operations, some teach in Nuln academy and so on. They might be pretty rare, but they are still much more casual sight than elf is.

Ah, you're one of those. Whips and tight leather clothing, aye?
Anyway, can't really decide who I want to be. Either a HE or Dwarf.

Well I think the last few posts by Dorkblade were about us not being able to pick high elves or wood elves. So I guess that limits your options.
