I used to find this shit funny but somehow gifs stopped being funny to me, and started being corny and dated and shit. The non-sequitor weirdo ones are still semi-ok, but I feel like the age of the gif has passed.

I don't quite understand the sentiment here. Gifs, in and of themselves, are not funny. They're just moving pictures. It's the content that should make them funny. Just seems an awful lot like saying "I used to find stand-up comedians funny, but not anymore." There's such a broad spectrum of things that saying something like that just comes off as vague and sort of pretentious.

EDIT: That wasn't meant to be instigatory by the way, hope it didn't come of that way.

It did come off that way, but don't worry I didn't take it personally. :)

That sounds like a ton of subjective opinion. Then again, we're talking about comedy, which is pretty much as subjective as it gets, so maybe we should just agree to disagree on this one.

I'm confused at what point you thought it wasn't subjective opinion, or did that just seem like the thing to say since people retort with that a lot online?

I personally do not find them funny, and I'm saying this as a guy who capped out a PB album with gifs, saved them wherever I could, and would spend an hour searching for the right one to react with because Id idn't organize shit.

The only thing I'd say about it other than my opinion is it seems like I'm not the only one since they've started to fall out of use within the last year or so. It's pretty much facebook-tier humor at this point, imo.
