Dear Performer,
After reviewing auditions, we are pleased to say you have been chosen to join our Trainee program. It is an honor to help cultivate your skills as an entertainer. Amenity (AM) Entertainment will provide optimal conditions for you to flourish under. Whether you're located beside the corporate building or one of our subsidiary offices, housing will be free of charge during the training process. Dormitories are based alongside offices, so contracted performers occupy them as well. Enjoy a diverse set of dorm mates and Well-seasoned staff. After meeting you, we're confident there won't be any issues! Our tight-nit, family like organization places high value on our performers being exemplary citizens.
Based on your personality and musical tastes, specially selected coaches will work with you throughout the week to ensure you're ready to enter the industry. You'll benefit from top of the line recording equipment only available within our recording studios. Your first single's success determines how long you stay with us after debut.Training lasts anywhere from six months to four years. We looks forward to spending that time with you, and hope to extend our relationship into the future.

Name: Sung-min Choi
Age: 36
Gender: Male
Appearance: An Asian man approaching middle age, with a large nose and glasses. His eyes are brown, and his facial features are very angular. He keeps his black hair slicked back, and dresses in business clothes even when not at work. He is slightly taller than average, and fairly skinny.
Act: Staff
Position: Artist and Repertoire, occasionally studio pianist
Personality: Sung-Min rarely seems happy, although he is never particularly rude. He is disciplined and highly trustworthy, and does not like it when others aren't, and likes to worked methodically. His outlook on life is generally cynical and pessimistic, and places little faith in the promises of people he does not know well.
History: Sung-min's family always had high expectations for him. His father was highly respected in his community, a successful businessman who had emigrated to America with little more than the clothes on his back. When Sung-min displayed talent for playing piano at a young age, his family enrolled him in lessons and encouraged him to practice obsessively. He dealt with the pressures well, becoming an excellent piano player and performing well in school.
Few outside the family knew about their persistent problems. His father struggled with alcoholism, but was able to hide it from the outside world for a long time. Even though Sung-Min loved his father, it became increasingly hard for the family to hold together and maintain their image. During his senior year of high school, his father alcoholism got bad enough that his mother filed for divorce. The stress of the divorce had a severe impact of Sung-Min's academic performance which led to him failing several classes.
Because of his poor performance, Sung-Min was unable to enter college, and ended up working menial jobs for several years after college. During this time, he kept practicing piano and writing his own compositions, hoping to some day make a career in classical music. He also got involved in the local music scene, working as session musician for below market rates. This experience allowed him to build some connections with the local music industry, and get some recognition. Eventually, he found a job with a small classical record label, helping to find new music and manage the logistics of recording. He loved his work, it allowed him to discover groundbreaking music and help them share it with the world. The label specialized in newer works and young performers, attempting to differentiate themselves from the old industry giants. Sung-Min even got to record some of his own compositions, though they were not commercially successful.
The label's approach was not a runaway success, and the budget was often tight. Eventually, things got so bad that they were forced to close, leaving him jobless again. After searching for a while, he found a job as in Artists and Repertoire at Amenity, thanks to his discipline and eye for musical talent. He doesn't particularly like his job, but it pays the bills. As an A&R man, he is known for being very punctual, and for emphasizing that it is important for artists to maintain a good public image.

Appearance: Her appearance is clean, without a single hair sticking out of place. She is half Korean and is an average height for women in that part of the world. Being business oriented, her hair is always tied up into a gray bun. In her youth, she was stick-thin but has gained weight over time.
Personality: She is a stern woman who will not tolerate disrespect, especially from those younger than her. Her life revolves around work because she never started a family. All of the entertainers who work with her know she’s a perfectionist. It’s rumored that she once kept a group in the studio for three days straight to perfect a track.
History: Hwa Young moved to the United States when she was 18 to attend college. Her father was an American soldier, so it made financial sense. The move was hard; she had a difficult time adjusting to American customs. Initially, she planned on living in South Korea after obtaining a sound engineer degree, but was offered an internship at a small company a month before graduating. After finding out she wasn't able to have children she decided to accept the offer. Over the course of sixteen years, she was promoted to being a sound engineer, and was responsible for recording several hits. The C.E.O. of Amenity Entertainment befriended her during this time. When she was 42, the company disbanded because of a scandal. Amenity entertainment offered her a position several months later.
RP Center
As a member of this RP, you can choose to be a solo act or form a group with other members. Staff positions are available as well. Groups cannot have more than five members to keep things from becoming chaotic. If possible, I’d like to have a girl and boy group accompanied by one or two solo acts. If this proves difficult to manage, sister threads can be made specifically for group interaction. Seeing as this starts off in the “trainee phase,” I’d like to incorporate weekly assignments. They don’t have to be complicated, and should be fun (not at all like actual class work)! Whichever group/solo act does best by the time debut comes around will be the most famous. We can keep a weekly poll to change act popularity. This idea is still forming, so it may or may not be implemented. Please share your thoughts and feel free to offer assignment ideas if you’d like to join. I’m new to the site, so constructive criticism is very welcome!
Your character/characters have just been scouted by Amenity (AM) Entertainment, a fictional record label. It's one of the most popular entertainment companies around the globe. Thousands of hopefuls audition each year. The trainees are worked to the bone, but the company produces top notch performers who sell thousands of albums each year. In the cut-throat world of entertainment, will your character be a flourishing success, or make friends, perhaps even enemies with the wrong people?
Note: At the moment, I'd like groups to be formed using different people's characters. I'm trying to see which setup works better: one person controlling a group, or multiple people.
