Personality: Haruka is absent-minded and imaginative, and she often loses track of time daydreaming about various things. She has a tendency to focus on small, unimportant details in any given situation. She likes to take walks around town and let her mind wander; she is incredibly good with directions, or perhaps just lucky, as she never seems to get lost. She is easygoing and casual, often treating strangers like close friends. She is very smart, academically, but tends to make small absent-minded mistakes. Thus, her grades are not as good as they could be.
Biography: Haruka has lived in Kadoguchi all her life, in the same house since she was born. Her family is rich; her parents are both in influential positions in the largest goods and services company in Kadoguchi, and Haruka is an only child. Therefore, Haruka has always had everything she ever wanted. Or in her words, boooooooring... As she got older, she began to distance herself from her parents, as they kept coddling her, and didn't allow her any freedom. She began to spend more and more time away from home and more time with friends.

Name: Tanaka, Kimiko

Appearance: Kimiko stands at 5'6" and weighs 126 pounds. She is slender and not particularly curvy, instead being more lean and rather athletic. Kimiko has naturally dark brown hair, but she dyes it black. Kimiko's hair is cut in a pixie bob with long bangs. Kimiko has fair skin and burns easily in sunlight. Kimiko has a round face, with blue eyes and small lips. Her nose is somewhat large for her face, and is her least favorite personal feature. She also has somewhat thick eyebrows. Kimiko is fairly pretty but not spectacular.
Personality: Kimiko is a cheerful and extroverted girl. She enjoys spending time with other people and is very outgoing. In addition, Kimiko is optimistic and confident, and tends to take charge whenever she can. She can be somewhat hot-headed, however, and often clashes with people if she disagrees with them. She can also be rebellious, preferring to take charge herself and resenting being told what to do. Kimiko is of average intelligence, but is a hard worker.
Biography: Kimiko grew up in a fairly ordinary household. Her mother and father both worked, and as such Kimiko was often left to take care of Ken, her younger brother and junior by 8 years. As such, Kimiko was used to being in charge. Kimiko and her family get along pretty well, though Kimiko's desire for independent action has led to some clashes. Kimiko was always pretty popular in school and got along pretty well with many of her classmates.

Personality: While he dresses like a rebel, Sho really isn't very intimidating once you get to know him. He is witty and sarcastic, and a big fan of cheesy puns. He doesn't mind making a fool of himself, which has led him to be labeled as the class clown. While he enjoys having fun, Sho also knows when to be serious. He reads people well and can have good heart-to-heart conversations with anyone who needs it. As such, he is well-liked by most of the other students at the school because of his 'easy to talk to' nature. Overall, he is a loyal friend and forges strong bonds with others.
Biography: Sho comes from a strict family. His parents run a prominent company and as their only child, they expect him to take over it eventually. They are always correcting Sho's manners, posture, speech patterns, and anything else they find inadequate. Realizing he would get nowhere by fighting them, Sho takes out his pent-up energy on the student at school and has become known as the class clown. He doesn't mind the title, however, because his main goals in school are centered around building strong, lasting friendships with the other students. He always puts other people's needs above his own, and genuinely enjoys seeing them prosper.

Personality: She is quiet with those she does not know well. She is talkative with those she does know well. Mischievous. Can be insensitive. Flighty when it comes to friendship. Hates cats.
Biography: She has lived here in Kadoguchi for fifteen years. Her family moved once. That was before she was born. Her life has been fairly simple. Her first few years were full of crying and the occasional breaking of vases and dinner plates. Some were accidents. But not most. Getting others' attention was fun until she started school. Bad attention would shame her parents. So she grew craftier. Study, do good work. Let others have the attention. It is easier to amuse herself when everyone thinks she is doing what she is supposed to do.

Personality: Suzume is known for her curiosity. She's average height and perfect weight for her body, a little plain Jane. She's a very wondrous person, she finds beauty and uniqueness in almost anything. Not much of a talker at first, but once you get to know her, she can hold long conversations. Her open mind and gentle heart are a charm, but they can get her into trouble. The sweet minded and gentle spirit causes her to be a little naive. She's also innocent, but she's not stupid. She has a strong grip on reality and other things. Due to her open mind, she's accepted a lot of different theories about many topics. Her head is here on this earth, but it could also be up in the clouds at the same time. Her grades are average, maybe a little above in somethings; such as art, which she's well at. But if the topic never truly grabbed her attention, she's caught staring at the birds flying by.

Biography: Suzume didn't always live in the same spot. When she was in her childhood, her parents finally settled in Kadoguchi. Her parents weren't rich, but they surely were not poor either. They lived a very comfortable life. All in all, Suzume Fuji has no room to really complain. Her parents taught her good morals, value, and hard work. For her simple, comfortable life, she's very grateful and humble.

Personality: Toby is an odd nut in the tree. He thoroughly believes that everything in life has a soul, and goes as far as to address things as though they could hear and respond back. He is a genuinely kind-hearted and caring individual especially when it comes to 'souls' who help him in his daily life. Many could consider this an odd form of worship.
Biography: Toby's parents were far from rich while they were alive. His father served in the army as a Drill Sergeant, his mother was an American who spent her life to fulfill the dream of coming to Japan. The fateful day his mother came to the Asian country, she collided with Mister Hoshino in the airport as he arrived for a transfer closer to his home town. The two became familiar almost instantly and soon a beautiful relationship as well as Toby was born. His mother, still American in origin decided that rather than deprive her new child of his heritage that she would give him an American name to symbolize the union of Japanese and American that had blessed her with such a happy life, her new husband agreed.Life was good for the three until Toby's father died when he was 13, killed in an accident involving live grenade training. His mother died of heart failure not long after, though many said she simply could not get over the loss of her husband. Even with the hardships of living alone he was well taken care of by his uncle who owned a large company in the Americas. He was provided rent money and a monthly stipend to spend on food, and other activities that may spark his interest on the request that he went to the school of his uncles choosing. Regardless of having the money to take care of himself, Toby works part time at a pawn shop nearby his house where he had the oddest encounter with a broken jukebox. Simply talking to it as though it were a person while polishing it managed to fix the supposedly worn out music box. Ever sense Toby has treated every object in the world with the up-most respect believing that if you treat an objects soul with the care and respect it deserves it will in turn provide you with a small miracle.

Name: Miyako, Tsubaki

Basically take away the pony tail and the hair clip and she can totally pass for a boy.
Personality: Tsubaki, or Tsuki to her friends, is a bit of an enigma when it comes to her gender. Many find it hard to tell whether Tsuki is a boy or a girl. And, secretly, she prefers it that way. While she uses makeup during certain occasions and has a girl laugh, Tsuki is a total tomboy through and through. It does not help that she speaks in a feminine rasp, muddled even further by her somewhat dry, mocking sense of humor. Despite her demeanor, Tsuki is very mature for her age and she's rarely one to slack off responsibility. While she totally coddles her siblings, she can be noticeably tough and holier-than-thou with people her age, which will no doubt rub quite a few the wrong way. Tsuki has a bit of an ego in the sense that she sees herself as the 'adult' in the room, and anyone who is acting out or turn or disagrees with her is being childish. Her friends are the exception to this; Tsuki can be quite motherly to those close to her, she worries about them and she is always a loyal friend. Her grades in school are good, not great, but good. Also, she is gay. Definitely. Straight. Definitely straight. It's complicated.
Biography: Tsuki's mother disappeared when she was eight. What was at once a heart-crushing traumatic event slowly faded away, and suddenly it was just Tsuki, her father and her three siblings. Her father is a kind man, a very gentle soul and Tsuki loves his and her siblings in equal measures. However, being a successful advertising executive for a large corporation many miles away from home, wasn't always there for his children. Because of this, Tsuki has had to act as a Sister and a Parent to her three siblings for years. While they certainly do not live in poverty, taking care of three kids all on one's lonesome is challenging, especially when juggling school work It has taught Tsuki responsibility, and that has led her to becoming very mature for her age. She's still a kid though, and, thankfully, her father realizes this. He takes, allowing Tsuki to go out and experience the best years of her life for herself. That has done her a world of good, giving Tsuki enough room to breathe and to make and connect with friends. However, Tsuki's biggest priority is her siblings and her home. Everything comes second to her responsibilities, giving her a role as Mother/Father when her own biological father is away.

Another big factor in Tsuki's life is her own romantic life. Tsuki had a few boyfriends in middle school, almost positive that she was straight. But a chance encounter at a mall soon changed things. During a chance encounter at a mall, Tsuki quickly connected with an outgoing university student named Yayoi who was three years her senior. Yayoi, mistaking Tsuki for a boy, initiated a conversation with Tsuki, ending with an exchange of numbers and, hesitantly, plans to meet up. Tsuki came clean about her gender after the first date, although Yayoi admitted that she simply did not care. They have been dating for over a year. Tsuki's siblings get along well with Yayoi and her father, surprisingly, approves of their relationship (though he does worry that they are moving much too quickly). Outside of her family, Tsuki is particularly tight lipped about Yayoi. While there are rumors that she's in a relationship with a college student, they all seem to begin and end there (much to her relief).

Personality: Akira has successfully made it through his life so far through a philosophy he describes as "giving absolutely zero fucks." He tries to avoid any and all unnecessary work or conflicts when possible, seeking neither positive or negative attention. When this fails, though, Akira doesn't really care. He doesn't really care about a lot of things. He does just enough above the bare minimum to get by in school without being viewed as a worthless slacker. The only talent he prides himself on is his ability to say outrageously silly things with a straight face, a talent he exercises often when bored. Akira is often bored. With no real ambition or drive in his life, Akira spends most of his time listening to music on his own. He has no one he considers a close friend, though he gets on with others well enough to quietly hang out with just about anyone.

Biography: Akira's lived in Kadoguchi his entire life. His parents are both office workers at a generic corporation, and are thus often away from home for long stretches of time. As a result, Akira was often left in the care of his seven-year-older brother, Minato. While he was still going through school, Minato was a very cheerful and creative dude who deeply cared for his little bro. After graduating from college, however, Minato found himself unable to pursue the artistic ambitions he had held for years, instead becoming a salaryman in an overly-demanding, unrewarding job. This gradually wore down on Minato, changing him into a distant and disillusioned man. Witnessing the transformation of his beloved brother, Akira eventually came to the conclusion that hard work and ambition were meaningless, in the end, so what was the point in even trying more than you had to? He has coasted through life ever since.

Name: Miyoshi, Kozue

Appearance:
Personality: Kozue is bad at meeting new people. And small talk. And smiling without scaring people. He’s on the verge of adulthood but never got over his pre-pubescent awkwardness. It takes him a long time to get comfortable around people, but he’s a decent guy who looks out for his friends if you can get him to open up. He likes techno music and biking.
Biography: The Miyoshis have lived in Kadoguchi since the birth of their oldest child, Kozue’s older sister Kasumi. Kozue is the second of three children in the Miyoshi family, and he has often been out of his parents’ focus while they were concerned with Kasumi’s school applications and his younger brother Kohaku’s sports activities. As a result, he grew up as a mostly independent person, preferring his own company and the company of close friends to larger gatherings. Instead of joining clubs at school, he would often go for long rides on Kasumi’s hand-me-down bike while listening to music when he had nothing to do. During middle school, Kozue ended up in the same class as Yoriyoshi Kitoaji, who shared his hobby of biking and who he has been best friends with ever since. Yoriyoshi is one of the few people that Kozue can comfortably talk to all the time, and they are very close.

Name: Kitoaji Yoriyoshi

Appearance:
Personality: Yoriyoshi considers himself a professional, in his own way. During class and in the presence of authority figures he conducts himself respectfully, though his demeanor is cold and efficient, with no room for pleasantries or personal conversation. His work performs adequately, and while it rarely exceeds expectations, it never fails to meet them.

When alone with his fellow students or out in the world at large, Yoriyoshi's cold demeanor becomes more detached and informal. His manners fade away, and whether he will pay attention comes down to what you have to offer him. If he feels someone brings nothing of value to a conversation or situation, he prefers to just pretend they don't exist. Many people mistake this abrasiveness for a sign of social anxiety or trauma, but Yoriyoshi is eloquent and attentive, when he chooses to be. He is hiding no deep, unspoken pain. He's simply an asshole.

Yoriyoshi likes to spend the bulk of his time studying, biking with his closest friend, Miyoshi Kozue, or working on his sketch-art.

Biography: Yoriyoshi grew up in strict family with firm expectations about his future. His father is a respected, tenured professor of Mathematics, specializing in Discrete Mathematics, and his mother career nurse. Both have a drive and passion for their work that they have attempted, with middling success, to instill in Yoriyoshi. As their only, he is seen as the focus and purpose of their success, and they have always pushed him to try harder and take advantage of every opportunity to further himself, with the expectation that he will join his father in academia. While Yoriyoshi has no reason to oppose these plans, he lacks the desire for success that has driven his parents along, and is more or less content no matter how their plan for him works out. This occasionally causes friction within their family, especially given his ambivalence towards pursuing opportunities outside of school, such as finding a job or a girlfriend.

Outside of the irritating stress it causes, Yoriyoshi is not bothered by disappointing his parents from time to time. He prefers to let them have his school life and keep his personal time to himself. He is rarely home for very long these days, due to disappearing on his bike as soon as his homework for the evening is completed, only to return to sleep and occasionally share dinner with his parents on the nights they are home. Usually, he can be found in the company of Miyoshi Kozue, or sitting alone in some scenic area, idly sketching whatever catches his eye that hour.

Name: Ikeda, Shiori

Appearance:

Personality: Being spoiled as the youngest child has given Shiori a feeling of superiority over everyone around him. 'Arrogant' would be fairly accurate in describing him in this respect. Because of this, he's also quite the nitpick, and constantly criticizes others over the tiniest of details. (This is partially due to the fact he's a slight perfectionist, but it's really because of his arrogance.) He's also extremely judgmental, and any opinions he forms about a person sticks with him even if they change.

And then there's his rather irritating habit of acting like he's always right (even when he's not). Even if someone else tries to correct him, he'll just start acting all indignant and most likely start throwing a tantrum. Shiori, strangely enough, isn't scared of anything, either. Since his parents have always been there to bail him out of tough situations, he expects there to always be some sort of 'safety net' to catch him if he gets into trouble. (Also, as for hobbies, he seems to enjoy knitting in particular. Shiori's also rather attached to his pet cat.)
Biography: Shiori grew up in an average, although somewhat busy household with his parents, a pet cat and four other siblings (all older than him). His parents favored him over his siblings, and ended up spoiling him quite a lot. As a result, he's always been somewhat stuck up, considering himself to be better than everyone else. His older siblings obviously didn't like him for this, either, and took every opportunity they could to get back at him. So, even now, Shiori has an almost instinctive hatred for anyone who reminds him of his older siblings. Being spoiled like this also means he has almost no sense of responsibility whatsoever, and likes to avoid thinking it, as well (it stresses him out). The only thing he cares for at the moment are his grades, since his parents are finally starting to confront him about how mediocre they are.

Personality: Rika is a very strange character to have around, she is old enough to drive yet she acts rather young for her age, dresses loosely sometimes and other times she wears flashy colors and an odd sense of high fashion not normal to a girl her age. This is due to her family, mostly her mother who is a fashion designer and runs a small clothes store.

She normally acts cute and innocent sometimes purposely overlooking obvious things just for the sake of it.
In reality she is really smart and earns many of the top scores on her class but never talks about it.
She is rather social and due to her good standing with the teachers and her mother's clothing brands, she has an easy time making new friends.
In reality this cute thing is just a very deep rooted act she has put up, a mask... or some might say a wall.
She used to be cold and distant to others, loving books for the most part but never wearing anything flashy or being the center of attention.
This all changed when her sister died when robbers tried to steal from her mother's store which is located right under her home.
If people mention Maki, Rika would immediately block it in an aggressive manner, assuring others she is recovering at the hospital when it was clear on the news papers, it happened only a few months back and it was the talk of the school at the time.

Biography: Rika didn't used to have as many friends as she does now, only half a year ago her hair was dark blue, and her fashion sense was much more modest choosing to ignore her mother's cute clothes. While she held high grades on her school she had low grades on any physical activity, her only real friend was a girl named Sango an overly energetic girl who didn't even when to the same school as she did, she would often go and help around on her mother's store along with Rika on their free days.

Her father not there for them Rika had taken care of Maki, the sun of the family, a very cute 10 year old girl and her only sister, unlike Rika, Maki loves fashion more than anything was always smiling and playing around, had many friends and was open to mostly anything. Keeping her grades up only thanks to Rika's intervention she loved Rika and Rika loved her little sister.

One day, on a night where her mother had left for awhile, she heard some noise coming from down stairs, looking through the window of her room and much to her surprise a thief was breaking into their store, before she even grabbed the phone he was already passed the front door as their lock wasn't very secure, immediately Rika grabbed the phone and called the police, silently moving to her sister's room to lock the door... the problem was that her sister wasn't there... she was down stairs getting a snack from a small fridge near the kitchen.

The next thing Rika heard was a bang noise and rushing down stairs she saw with terror her sister face down on a small puddle of her own blood.
Rika's eyes teared up and she looked at the robber's face the man was frightened by what he had done, he was saying how she hit him from behind, how it was an accident, right there the police came in and took custody of the man, Maki dying a day later on the hospital.
This has a great impact on Rika who was speechless for a few days, unable to express how sorry she was for allowing this to happen to her sister, unable to look at her mother on the face even to this day.

As if to make up for the loss within herself and the loss her family suffered she started to imitate Maki, not caring what her mother would say about it, even going as far as to deny Maki's death all together, quickly shutting down the subject whenever she was asked about it on school.

it's now been two months since then, either through pity or through genuine care, Rika has made many more friends with her new found style and attitude than she ever had when she was herself... at least now she seems happy, if only on the outside.

Appearance:

Personality: Masato has a very-fun loving and goof personality that makes it hard for him to take things seriously and hard for others to take him seriously. He’s always friendly with his fellow students and is ready with a joke for every occasion. He tries his best to make sure his friends are always doing ok and makes sure he’s there for them if they need help.

Biography: Masato and his family have lived in Kadoguchi for as long as he can remember. His parents set boundaries for him but were never very strict about many things, meaning he was an adventurous child. Having no brothers or sisters he spent most of his time playing outside, something his parents encouraged. He has never lost his wonder for the world and when he graduates plans on taking a gap year to travel around it. Masato’s interests revolve mainly around the environment, travelling, basketball and roller-blading, which he has been doing to get too and from school for around three years. He is quite a skilled basketball player and plays on the schools team but he is unsure if he wants to make a solid commitment to playing basketball as a future career. While he enjoys it, it seems too much like hard work and he enjoys the idea of being a landscape photographer.
