Pathfinder A walking disaster

Durus looked at Tessa and the wolf and made an apology, "I am sorry, this cursed armor... it makes me forget who I am. Especially in the heat of battle. And no lady Tessa, I will not need your healing." Durus knew that once the metal cooled down, any damage that had occurred would be dealt with. Knowing that while the armor keeps him prisoner it also keeps him alive. Like a sick warden. However that became sting of thoughts became moot once the Wolf talked of guards.

Placing the sword in its sheath, Durus said "There is a gate to the north that we could go through, its how I got into this blasted city. It is seldom used and poorly guarded, it'll be the death of this city but for now it shall be our salvation." With that Durus began to head in that direction, the fight had dislodged some information but from experience he knew that he had now forgotten something. Damned armor. Lost in his hateful broodings, Durus was knocked out of it with the sound of sizzling. Jolting to attention, Durus found that it was starting to rain and the armor was beginning because of it. If they continued on their way it wouldn't be a problem... hopefully.

Tessa paled when he heard the city guard was close. Did they already noticed her escape? Or maybe it was the sound of fighting that had attracted them. She really needed to get out of there, and she hoped the rain didn't slow them down too much. She nodded as Durus spoke. 'We need to head north anyways' She said as she started walking, nervous and scared that she would be forced back to the gallows. No matter what, she had to make it to Engels, someone had to know about that book. She didn't dare speak of it to her companions before knowing what it meant, exactly, but she had a feeling it was going to be bad. Breathing deeply and calming herself down she stopped and turned to Anderus.

'Do you need healing? I'm afraid it will have to wait for us to be out, but I am good at it.' She smiled nervously at the two of them and resumed walking.

"Yes Tessa, thank you! But after we get out of here." Anderus answered the young priestess.
Anderus has entered the town through a hole in the wall a little to the West, but of course that way was blocked now by the town guards squad, so he nodded to Durus and followed him together with Tessa till they arrived to the gate. A single young guard was guarding the exit gate, Durus was right, this gate will be the town's doom one day. Anderus asked his friends to stop behind the corner so the guard won't see them and then quickly as a lightning he jumped from the corner, rolled on the ground and appeared behind the guards back, he then attacked a pressure point on the guards neck making the guard to blackout, all of this happened so quickly that the guard didn't even have time to blink. Anderus took the keys from the unconscious guard and opened the gate. "Quickly! Lets exit this town and go to the woods!" he said to his companions. "Don't worry, I didn't kill him, he will regain consciousness in about a quarter of an hour, so we should hurry!" he answered Tessa's accusing look and smiled, as the three of them went out the gate and headed towards the forest.

As the wolf faced him and Tessa, Durus was alarmed for a split second. The burn looked serious, almost crippling, but the wolf seemed to be carrying himself well enough. Giving the wolf a grunt of acknowledgement, Durus lead them to the north gate with haste. While not moving really fast, he had stamina and kept the pace at a consistent speed. Not stepping out for anything, not even when the wolf sped up and took care of the lone guard. In passing, Durus heard something about the guard being ok, he didn't really care As the group left the city behind, Durus slowed down before turning to his new allies. Turning to Tessa Durus said "Tessa, tend to the wolf. With a burn like that he won't make it far."

Tessa sighed in relief as they crossed into the forest. She was able to relax just a little bit now that they were outside the city, but they would have to move fast if they were to avoid the patrols that would soon be combing the territory for her. However, they did have enough time for her to heal Anderus. It was a nasty burn, and if left untreated there was the risk of infection. She got close to the shapeshifter and raised her hand to the burn, hovering an inch above the wounded skin. 'This would be easier if I had a staff' She muttered as she concentrated. Soon her hand began to glow, bathing the burned area in a warm light and the skin started to slowly knit back together. Tessa poured more magic into the spell, just enough to make the process go faster, but not so much that she would overwhelm the area. It didn't take long for the burn to completely disappear, the only trace of any injury being the new skin that covered it, it was in a slightly lighter tone than the rest. 'All done' She said with a satisfied smile, then, she looked at the others. 'We should keep moving'

Anderus felt pleasant life energy going trough him when Tessa healed his burn, the open wound with the scorched flesh and skin disappeared and new skin appeared where the wound used to be.
Tessa's life energy was enormous, Anderus finally started to understand how much change Tessa could bring to this world and why it was important to protect her.
After the healing, Anderus turned fully into a man, as up till now he remained in the half turned state. His companions finally could see his human face.
Anderus was a tall and attractive young man at the age of 30, with dark eyes and skin colour and a muscular body.
Anderus thanked Tessa for the healing and then started to lead the group through a barely visible forest trail, "Friends, please follow me, the guards don't know this trail, they won't be able to follow us without getting stuck in the vegetation or falling into a pit!" he said to Tessa and Durus.
After about quarter of an hour they arrived to a small cave in the forest, the cave was surrounded by wild vegetation from all sides and was completely invisible to the outside world. "We can rest here for a while, the guards won't be able to find this place so quickly. Would you like me to hunt us something for lunch? " said Anderus to his companions. Inside the cave there was an improvised table made from few stones heaped one on top of another and an improvised bed that was nothing more then a pile of hay. It was obvious that Anderus used this site as a temporary dwelling place in the past.
