I'm looking for a one on one fight somewhere between the power levels of peak human and Doctor Strange. You can submit a character here and I'll look them over and (if approved) will either create a new character to match them or use an existing one, which you can then approve before we start the match.

The only requirements are that you be able to post at least once a day, and have a decent understanding of written combat. Any takers?

I might as well take up this fight, but may i ask you of a favor? The thing is, a dodge or parry aren't always a concrete solid defense IRL, and while i do agree that simply altering an attack without any premise doesn't quite fit the roleplaying format, i'd like to know wether you would accept thing such as slipping around the parry after collision and immediatly halting an attack that has missed in order to switch to another one? Both could count as seperate actions, but both can come in faster than a counter-attack, thus, sometimes chopping off that part of the opponent's post - although, unlike altering an action, it won't be able to put the whole reply to waste. It is usualy unknown how your opponent will exactly react to a certain attack, so surrounding a single action with a barrage of additional 'if' statements isn't always going to work out, plus, it will be simply annoying to do so. But if one excludes the possibility of such interruptions alltogether, the lose a great deal of realism and the combat becomes much less fluid than it really is, losing a truly essential part. I, myself, am ready for such inconviniences as getting half of my post rendered null by a legit interruption, but what about you?

Legit interruptions are my bread and butter, my friend, but in every other instance I have seen them used, they can only be performed on your actions by your opponent. As a general rule of thumb, you cannot interrupt your own action. This prevents the fight from devolving into a "he twitched his thumb so I knew he would attack thusly, so my own action from the beginning of my last post changes to counter it", followed by "I noticed he saw my thumb twitch and his stance changed, so I abandon my original attack and initiate this new one", followed by "his thumb may have twitched, but now his foot has angled slightly, so my own counter changes to this maneuver in order to defeat his new attack" scenario. Thirty posts could cover no more than three seconds of observation with no actual attacks being made, because each writer is constantly interrupting their own characters actions.

Barring an actual interruption from your opponent, each of your posts should follow a linear progression starting at the last action performed in your previous post and moving forward. 'Tis the nature of written combat I'm afraid, as otherwise a match can very easily devolve into a stalemate of "he did this, so I changed that".

Im afraid you did not quite get what i meant. Here are two examples of what i was talking about:

Example 1:
xxx: i swing my sword verticaly
yyy: i block with a horizontal parry and riposte
xxx: you parry, fine, but before you counter, i slide my sword against yours, thrusting its tip towards your face
yyy: fine, i die

Example 2:
yyy: i swing horizontaly
xxx: i step backwards and counter as your sword passes by
yyy: i halt my slash as you dodge, and instead, stab you in the leg as you rush at me
xxx: i get hit in the artery and die

Though if i understood you right, you are fine with those kind of interruptions. Please, correct me if i am wrong.

Yes, those kind are fine, though they do need to be physically possible. If you were using a two-handed claymore in the second example, for instance, you wouldn't be able to stop it in time to perform the stab, simply due to its weight and momentum (unless your character is super-humanly strong or wasn't intending to do any actual damage with the original attack and swung slowly without much power behind it).

Well, now that there are three of us, i think that we should try to agree on some power level after all?

Go ahead and post your character LeeRoy. If Vordak doesn't like the power level I can fight him separately.

Well, i'd be happy with something along the lines of this:

Pure speed: dodging single projectiles at Mach 3, numerous ones at lower speeds.
Pure strength: able to throw around 20 tons with ease, lift 30.
Pure durability: impervious to submachinegun fire, able to withstand a hail of rifle bullets.
Pure destruction: weaponary or magic as powerful as artilery fire once charged, as powerful as a HE tank shell uncharged.

If everybody is fine with it, i'll make my character following those guidelines i've posted above.

EDIT: since i'd like to participate in a group fight rather than a duel.

The character I was writing up would be unlikely to survive a fight with that kind of character.

Well, im never against lowering the bar. On the contrary, i remeber expressing my distaste towards high-tier characters in the multiverse's OOC. ;P

Name: Mikaevell Ad Fortuna, just call him Mik

Age: 19

Gender: Male

Race: Lesser Ahs Chini

Personality: Mik is calm, like, remarkably calm. This guy can honestly fall asleep while standing up. Why would he ever fight? Dunno, maybe he's bored. The guy barely talks. You try and find the reason.

Appearance: Mik is a humanoid form with 6 arms, a slightly elongated head with 8 eyes positioned from the normal positioning to the back of his head. Running in a line across his dome. Two eyes run parallel to his head, allowing him omnidirectional sight. He is covered in plates of chitin and connective tissue. These plates are thinly covered in sharp grabby hairs. The six afformentioned arms are positioned in a tight triangle on his shoulders. Each hand has five digits, each foot has five digits. His height is quite great, standing at 7'3" tall.

Abilities:
Six Arms: Lesser Ahs Chini bear more humanoid form with arachnid-like features, Mik was born with a full exoskeletal structure with six arms positioned in a slightly triangular formation on his shoulders. Allowing for a full range of movement in front of and behind him.

Ascended Palm: Mik's greatest ability is his martial skill, a martial skill so great that he was gifted with a smokey silver aura around his hands. Allowing him to strike anything with his hands. No matter what his foe is made of, he may strike them. If they can turn to mist, he can strike them. If they are phantoms, he can strike them. The Ascended Palm is not designed to make him superior to his foes. It is to make him equal to his foes. The Ascended Palm has a second use. Should a foe strike his hands, he can push back with the exact same force that they exert.

Beyond Human Physical Ability: Aside from the fact that he has six arms, he has physical abilities that surpass those of humans. If only marginally. Mik can lift 300 lbs with just one pair of arms, able to lift up to 900 lbs with all six arms. As well, he is still an arachnid, Mik can climb up walls with his hands and feet. Long distance running speed is 18 mph, shory distance sprinting speed is 22 mph. Mik's exoskeletal structure is as hard and flexible as bronze is.

Omnidirectional Vision: The positioning of his eyes allows for vision in every direction. He can open and close these eyes to better focus on targets.

Sharp Wit: While not a genius, Mik has reached enlightenment. He can register things 3x faster than your average human.

Skills:
6 Hand Style: The first of Mik's self made martial arts. 6 Hand Style relies solely on Mik's upper body, using his hands as his shield and sword. This is a meticulous style, used to wear his opponents down, returning every single strike that he recieves with the exact same force. While he himself uses as little stamina as possible, making short and quick strikes to prevent himself from tiring.

14 Hand Style: Generally used after 6 hand style. As the second style created by Mik it is significantly more advanced than the former. 14 hand style is a high aggression fighting style, utilizing his elbows, knees, and feet as much as his hands. Allowing him to strike from any angle at any speed, and any time. Turning his strikes into an unrelenting, unpredictable barrage of blows. A normal human cannot last long in a 14 hand style assault.

So if I'm reading this right, he has the eight legs of a spider, coupled with the torso of a human and six arms sprouting from the shoulders?

No, he's wholly humanoid. I stated that.

No lower spider half.
