OOC: Given that there is a log, if people commented their rolls, we wouldn't have to make these posts just saying what we rolled. And, because I'm a hypocrite: I rolled a 7. But you all already knew that. Also, does anyone know who this ChibiYuki is?

OOC: I have no idea who ChibiYuki is, and considering she didn't post much, we should be able to ignore them. Also, I took Graham's advice. However, I forgot to add the extra power attack damage into the roll, the result is actually 16 damage.

Despite watching out for incoming threats, Desgoffe doesn't notice the grey reptilian creature slinking in the rocky outcropping. With a growl, it strikes and takes the dwarf by surprise, slamming a massive club of bone into the dwarf's head and knocking him unconscious.

OOC: Everyone who is asleep has to make a DC 14 Perception check to wake up. Don't worry, losing here won't result in a TPK. After reading your backstories, I came up with something that better suits your characters than my original plan.

OoC: 19! Whoo!

The half-orc hears the unmistakable thud of club on skull. Perhaps it was his orcish blood... More likely it was his lack of desire to be clubbed in the face.

Though unable to see in the dark, he kept his hands on a sealed and stoppered tube, just in case.

"Everyone, awake! NOW!"

OOC: If you managed to succeed, at your Perception check, make an Initiative roll. Just need Init checks for Graham and Jack before combat starts.

Initiative scores
-Gratianus: 24
-Arzhel: 17
-Creature: 17
-Alastor: 10

Arzhel surges to his feet at Alastor's roar, hands instinctively rushing to his swords.

"What's going on?!"

OOC: Arzhel, you're up.

Arzhel and Alastor see a grey reptilian creature standing over Desgoffe's unconscious form, illuminated by the light of your fire. It wears a crude imitation of scale armor built from the small bits of bones and hide of various animals. The skulls of a cougar and horse form the shoulder pads. It carries a large club made of the bone of some large creature, maybe a giant, and despite it's savage appearance, you can see the cunning mind of a hunter behind it's head. When it notices you are awake, it begins making a series of hisses, and growls.

OOC: Ignore the charge half if not possible, I'm partly writing it for flavor

Arzhel turns toward the growl, eyes passing over the crumpled form of Desgoffe. With unnerving precision, Arzhel rushes the creature, his katana briefly reflecting the firelight as it is swung.

Apparently, the surprise of being awoken in the middle of the night has drained much of Arzhel's strength for the steel of his sword is stopped dead against the creature's armor of bone. The light of your campfire shines a hellish light through the creature's bright, yellow eyes, and it's crocodilian maw widens in a wicked and toothy smile. The danger suddenly sinks into Arzhel. Adrenaline quickens his reflexes, allowing him to duck under the return swing.

OOC: Alastor is up, Gratianus should make a perception check, and then it's Arzhel's turn again.

The half-orc weighed his options: it was too densely packed a fight to event think of throwing bombs or axes. Only one thing to do... He pulled out a flask full of extract he had prepared ahead of time, popped off the cork and downed its contents. Almost immediately he began to grow, increasing in size until he stood at nearly ten feet tall.

Gratianus wakes up to find their watchman laying unconscious on the ground, blood caking the dwarf's hair and beard. Standing over him, Arzhel was battling sword to club against some kind of grey skinned reptilian humanoid wielding weapons and armor made of bone. And standing over them both, the Alchemist had suddenly grown to over ten feet tall.

OOC: You can get a turn now as well Gratianus.

With adrenaline coursing through his veins, Arzhel swiftly draws his wakizashi and attacks the creature, hoping to force the creature off-balance.

With no time to summon his eidolon, Gratianus instead channeled the same power into a weaker but quicker summon; with a flash of magic, a dog appeared on the other side of the grey reptile opposite Arzhel, forcing the assailant to deal with two opponents at once, one of which wasted no time charging in to attack. With a howl that sent fear into the ears of all beings who opposed order, the dog savagely bit at the lizardman.
Translation: Gratianus stays prone, spends a full-round action to use summon monster I as a spell-like ability, summoning a resolute dog 15 feet away from the lizardman on the opposite side of it as Arzhel, which then uses smite chaos targeting the lizardman and charges it, ending its charge in a position flanking it with Arzhel. Sorry if I tend to get verbose in forum RPs.

The lawful canine clamps down on the reptilian's leg, but the creature doesn't even slow down. It's thick hide prevents the dog's teeth from even breaking skin. Arzhel is having similar troubles in penetrating the bone armor it wears. His Tian Xian blades are ineffective against the crude material. However, the creature realizes that it is surrounded. It roars and some nocturnal rodents go scampering away, but it also magnifies the saurian's strength. He slams his club into Arzhel's chest. (12 damage) The elf begins gasping for breath. Your assailant then spins and clamps its jaws into the neck of the animal biting its leg. The resolute animal disappears in the same flash it arrived in.

OOC: Alastor and Gratianus get to go next. Arzhel will only get a move or a standard action and will fall unconscious if he takes it. The dog was killed.

Wasting no time, Gratianus summoned up an eagle to replace the dog; the bird let out a screech as it bit and clawed at the foe.
OOC: Same deal, except I'm summoning the eagle adjacent to the lizard so it can make a full attack with smite chaos, and the eagle is one square over so that Alastor can flank with it if he so chooses.

One of the eagle's talons manage to cut through the creature's skin. The skin bubbles and blisteres like a bad burn, but the damage is mostly superficial.

OOC: Because Alastor would get his turn first, he can't get the flanking bonus, but the Eagle could.

Alastor walks the short distance to position himself in a location where one of his allies could surround the foe and swung his now enlarged throwing axe at the foe. He wasn't quite used to his new size, so his blow was a tad off the mark...

[ OoC: Rolled a 13 to hit. Since the GM is doing the target's number crunching, I'll just leave the damage roll here just in case of a hit: 1d8+1)

The shifting weight of the axe as it turns back to its normal size in midair throws off Alastor's aim. It sails past the hostile monster, but doesn't go unnoticed. It smashes the eagle with it's greatclub, forcing the creature to disappear like the dog. It moves over to Jack, the most worthy looking enemy he can find. It growls and hisses at him. He and Gratianus recognize that the savage is actually speaking a language called Draconic. "You. You're the one Pillbug asked me to find. Come with me and you won't be injured. Yet." Alastor immediately recognizes the name Pillbug. That short, fat man was the reason he was nearly dead broke and barely a contender in the weapons business.

OOC: Do you want to take your action Arzhel? As an attack of opportunity for the move. You'll still go unconscious if you do.

Alastor reached back to draw another axe as the savage approached, but its talking stayed his hand. "What does he want with me?" the half-orc hissed back in Draconic, hand waiting to grab the half of his axe.
