I was thinking Sandman or Sand (Sany Hawkins) for a third character. I'll lower his powers though so he only has his prophetic dreams and maybe some silicate form or geokinetic powers. For the most part I'll write him to be more like Batman or the Question, but with powers. He'll be using the gas gun, gas mask, weapons, and his body to fight crime.

I'm thinking that Gypsy, The Ray and Sandman all have powers or abilities that have ties with greater forces. Gypsy for one, from what I read on her had illusion casting as an origin so she has magical ties. The Ray's powers are genetic due to his father, but have an scientific or alien nature to it so there's space ties. And Sandman's powers come from his connection to the first Sandman and Dream (Morpheus) so there's cosmic and multidimensional ties to it.

The lack of interest does worry me though so would you care to doing this as a 1x1? I can do up to four characters by the way so if we do a 1x1 with four or three each we'll have our own little justice league, or we can do a rotating roster kind of story that uses various DC characters for one story arc (or one episode) that will eventually cover an overarching arc. I'd be willing to do either, but the latter is very interesting and would be great practice for doing stories with a cast of snowflakes.

Sandman's silicate powers are pretty unique so it would be cool if he had them. I like your ideas for the three of them very much, It's refreshing to find someone with as much interest in the characters as I do :)

Yeah, I was hoping this would get more steam by now. I'll keep this open just in case but I like the Idea of a 1x1. A rotating cast with three of four characters each is an excellent idea, and I think it'd just be great to play out stories about both powerhouses and more grounded types working together. An overarching Arc like the Cadmus Arc would simply be excellent to play out, I rarely get to fully develop arcs in a roleplay. Plus, It'd be good to practice 1x1s and writing from multiple disparate viewpoints. And we would basically never run out of characters :P

I like the idea so much, I already went and made the roleplay I haven't decided on my own initial set of characters, yet but feel free to post yours.

I love the DCU, but sadly I'm not as into the comics compared to Marvel. I like the Marvel comic U more, but I prefer the DC TV shows.
I'll work on those three characters now. By the way when you say "Alter Ego" you mean their real name yes?

I feel mostly the same, DC doesn't handle their properties the best but I'm still a sucker for the mythos they have built up. Yeah, Alter Ego is real name I was just indulging in comic book terminology :P

I'm going to start working on mine too. I'm thinking the Creeper, Vibe, and Crimson Fox. I'm thinking we could start the RP right after the show with the League chasing down the Legion of Doom or on the Watchtower, assembling for another mission. Thoughts?

No offense was meant Rumiko and I'm sorry if it came across as me dismissing you, but as of right now there isn't enough interest to justify a full-blown roleplay that relies on a large team. I'm still keeping this open if there is ever any renewed interest. But if you have any suggestions please feel free to share.

Well when you said multiple 1X1s I thought of the Team up series
It sounded interesting
Supergirl team up with the Question or with the Creeper or any others
Powergirl teaming with anyone would be fun as well
Don't worry over much though, I'm a big girl an can wait

I apologize as well Rumiko. It was an impulse thought that I really should have thought about more.

We can always do a three man group RP, it's not unheard of and it's not really that different from doing a 1x1. Three heads working together aren't really that different from two though. Personally I favor small group RP's rather than full blown group RP's though since they tend to be too chaotic.

BTW I'm working on the characters now.

I'm still here, but I would like to give some words of advise, one of the reasons the rp had a lack of interest is because of the no OC rule, since this is roleplaying, people like to use their creativity and create characters that they feel are cool, when you restrict people to just canon characters then it usually can turn people off. If the problem was people having characters that don't seem to fit in the rp then a good solution would have been to just be more critical of a player's CS to make sure the character would fit. I'm not saying this to be rude, I am just giving some advise for the next time you make a superhero rp, people want to be creative and make their own characters. I would say to not have the no OC rule next time and just be more thorough in checking everyone's CS

I'M okay with Canon because as I previously said I see them as basically pregens
I go to numerous conventions where entry into a tournament RP is pretty much playing Pregens
My only trouble with canon is when my style of character personality interpretation is questioned

I will admit that I love playing OCs as well but when all is said an done I love Roleplaying in general, hell I started RPing when I was 10 and my character was my Uncle's Girl Friend's Familiar
I was a Fairy Dragon an a pregen

I'm still here too! I don't know why we couldn't do a small cast.

Yog, heh you know how I run most superhero rps :P Most rps in general, it's just different when it's something that heavily involves canon characters.

So we could just change this into a small cast, would you all be receptive to rotating characters?

Generally speaking when I do RP's based on something and will have OC's my two preferences are to either do a story in that universe, but not directly involved in the source material or go from where the source material left off. You see the problem I have with OC's in a fan story RP is that they tend to overcrowd the source material to the point that the source material gets ignored completely. For such a big universe as the DC or the DCAU even doing a story based on a preestablished universe with a history that has canon characters seems like the better choice since creating OC's, and (from what I gather) most people do make OC's willy-nilly (is that how you spell that?). And personally I find writing undeveloped characters much more fun since you have a base for what kind of person they are, but they're free to grow, and it's also more challenging for me.

Anyway my two cents aside I'd be willing to a rotating cast. If we were to have a small group of at least five players it's possible. The way I'd go about it is instead of picking any character from the canon universe at any given time each player will have his chosen characters that only he/she can play for that specific story. This way it would be less chaotic and allows for a more centralized character development.

Firo, that was largely my reasoning for not allowing OCs in the first place though I could have communicated that better.

It just so happens we have five people :P It's an inspired idea, somewhat like choosing characters for a video-game session xD If everyone agrees to this, I think it could work splendidly. If everyone controls more than one character, say two or three, we could also have a few different plots advancing at the same time. With all of the different stories connecting in plot development and character development, much like the actual show.

In a way yes, Firo and I have most of our three characters ready for a 1x1. But if you're still interested in a rotating cast and able to make a few bios we can probably set up a small group rp.
