I hate it when public transport drivers over here speed at 60 to 70 mph inside really packed, urban areas just because they weren't making enough money. I also hate it when they jam people inside their rides and yell at the passengers because we aren't at maximum capacity yet. I hate it when the collectors refuse your student id, and expect you to pay the regular fare. Because clearly, it's my fault students are entitled to a discount, and taking advantage of that discount is immoral. The shouldn't be putting down those who are going to school just because they never did. Moreover, when it does happen, other people just treat it like a fact of life, as if this sort of abuse were absolutely inevitable. It's corruption, at the very lowest level, and it pisses me off because nobobdy cares, and they just let it happen. And then they deal with other abuse with the exact same attitude, making absolutely everything worse.

The whole point of subsidizing transportation for college students(along with other social benefits) is to make college affordable and open for the masses. Not something to bury yourself in debt with for the next 10 years of your life after you graduate, nor something exclusive to the rich, or even the middle class. Tuition is in fact, free of charge within public institutions here.Hence why charging full price is abuse, plain and simple, and completely invalidates one of the few good, minor things to come out of the government.
