So I have this RP in mind, wherein the players try to solve a murder within a school setting, it can be a high-school or College, depends what do you guys are interested in. Anyways, the setting is not the important thing of this RP, it’s how it’s played.
Basically, the murderer is one of the players but none of them or I, who’ll be acting as GM, gets to choose or be chosen for the role. Then how will the murderer be chosen, you ask? Easy, each player tries to make another player look guilty and I, being GM and promising unbiased judgment, will flow the RP towards that direction.
But that’s not the only twist; a character will have no background in their CS instead they’ll have three (3) statements pertaining to the victim, two (2) of which are lies. Here is an example: 1) I’m the best friend, 2) I was asleep during her murder and 3) She was always nice to me (Relationship, Alibi and Motive). The player who created the character and other players as well, do not know which statements are lies and which one is the truth. Just like previous the paragraph, this will be decided during the RP.
Important RP Rules: I'll be acting as GM ergo the "Detective Role" will be assigned to me but I won't be partaking in the plot development meaning the detective is an NPC. When I believe the plot has progress enough, either a liar is revealed or some other key points you guys come up with, I'll post an "event".
Players can only create/play a character within the School (classmate, teacher, headmaster, etc.), family member (Mother, father, sister, brother, cousin, etc.) and/or friend/enemy (best friend, worst enemy, rival, clique friend, acquittance, stranger(I don't know her statements), etc.). Multiple relationship is possible but will only be considered as one statement.
The RP ends once the murderer is caught.
So anybody up for it?
P.S.: I already have a title: Liar, Liar
