In the beginning, 6 gods created the land of Vahldir. They made rolling hills, great thundering mountains, peaceful plans, rich forests, and arctic tundras. They also created Elves, Dwarves, Halflings, wild life, man, and Alituums (a mixture between birds and humans). All these races got along, building civilizations and towns. Elves scattered to the shorelines and forests, Alituums controlled the high mountain tops, Dwarves took to inside mountains, and humans settled wherever they could. The halflings seemed to exclude themselves from interactions with the other races, and soon, most forgot what they looked like. The most impressive were the Elven Alituum cities.
Wanting their creations to get along, Osnryn, the king of all gods and god of strength and will, assigned a Supreme King to rule the land of Vahldir. The First King named Aleden was the first to receive the gift of the Gods. The capital of the High Kingdom was a large and beautiful city named Silveredge. Politics were soon put in to play as the years went on, and for the time, everyone was happy... The gods soon created more species such as Centaurs, gnomes, goblins, mermaids, and giants... But even the most beautiful of fruits has a rotten part in them.
The Dwarves found unlimited riches, and humans being naturally greedy, wanted to take those riches. The political side of the kingdom tried to bargain for a small portion of it, but the poor cities near the dwarven colonies couldn't stand it much longer. War started to rage. The greedy and power hungry again the High Kingdom. As war started in Vahldir, the Gods chose sides to be on. The naturally good and light gods sided with the High Kingdom. Osnryn the god of will and strength and the king of all gods was joined by Onlor, God of hunting and stealth and Nicosa, Goddess of life and good health to side with the High Kingdom. Osnryn's brother Rorrt is the god of Darkness. He along with Ashar, goddess of pain, and Dardrao, god of greed sided with the corrupt.
What started with greed turned to be a war on good and evil. Those who were loyal to the kingdom and wanted unity stayed to fight, while the corrupt were offered riches and power. War raged on. The creatures in Vahldir were pawns in the game of the gods, and to help win, both sides created more and more. Trolls, Orcs, witches and wizards, dragons, basilisk, imps, faries. Most of these creatures stayed neutral in the war. And from these new forms of life, new gods started to form.
Lors, son of Osnryn was the god of wit and cunning. Nyst was the goddess of luck and fortune, and Burim was the god of technology stood to help fight for Osnryn. But Antai, brother of Nicosa and god of death, Imser, god of fear, and Rothen brother of Onlor and god of shadows joined Rorrt.
For the majority it seemed the kingdom had an upper hand under the rule of Aleden thanks to the gift of Osnryn... The other gods soon gave gifts to other people of Vahldir. They were both tasked to win for both sides. The clan of Light and Darkness were sent out to pursue and kill the other gifted ones. The only god who didn't give a gift was Rorrt.
Just as Aleden stormed the city of Dorden home of the rebellion, Rorrt finally gave his gift upon the Supreme King's most trusted friend named Fusos... And in the grasp of uniting the land, Aleden was stabbed by his friend. Without the leader, the clan of light soon went with him. The High Kingdom crumbled. but no one was safe from the tyrant Fusos. He also killed the clan of darkness. He was the only gift bearer. He was warned by Rorrt himself though, that there will be more. 100 years from now there will be people to join and oppose you.
Fusos didn't age thanks to his gift, and the aid of Rorrt. He killed and slaughtered anyone he thought to be bearing a gift. And for generations, the land of Vahldir was in darkness. Everyone was separated in their own kingdoms. Anywhere other than large cities were in constant fear of being attacked by bandits and hunters. For 500 years the gift bearers were not heard from. But there was still good in this world... and one true heir. Unknown to most of the kingdom, Aleden and his wife had a son, and when the kingdom fell, he and his wife was taken to a Halfling town far from the war.
The family Aleden of Silveredge soon left the town, where the heritage became farmers of a smaller village, to mayor of a port town, to now a outlaw said to be helping small towns.
The age of darkness is soon to come to an end. The heir to the throne seeks to take it back, but he must find the gift bearers to help him on his quest. Rorrt has told Fusos but he thinks nothing of it. It won't be an easy task, and he will recruit not only gift bearers, but anyone willing to lend a hand in this battle. The High Kingdom will reign again!

Appearance: Long Dark brown hair and emerald green eyes. Has scruffy beard, Tanned from the traveling, and scars across his body from his days of adventuring. Has a branded mark of a flame on his wrist from being tortured in Dorden.
Bio: I was told the stories of the Great King, like most kids do. How he was fair, and kind, and loyal, and led a group of people blessed by the gods... And how that Great King will return with his group yet again. And that I was intended to do great things... But until then, my father intended me to be a child first, before I grew up. I grew up in Hallsgrave, a small village known for its bars just a day away from Faycrest (if you knew the way). I was an assistant to the barkeep, and when I wasn't working for him, I was helping my father build the home he dreamed of when he was a boy. It was clear that everyone hated the Legendary Fusos, and that everyone has to keep their mouth shut at it. But that didn't stop my family.
They would tell me time and time again that we were related to the High King, and to prove it, we had his sword passed down from generations, waiting for the day that the gift bearers would help us gain power again. It was inspiring, hearing the stories, and how I wanted it to happen to me. The adventure, the battles, the hope that there is something to rid this land of people! But that inspiration soon left me.
When I was 16, I went on an errand to deliver some ale to a local town not far. When I returned, there was a frenzy waiting for me. Fusos men came charging in, and were looking for my family. I ran back home to see all the hard work my father put in to it was now a pile of ash, human remains visible... My father was laid to rest like his work. Angry, and scared, I ran after the men who killed my father. Although it was brave, it was very stupid. Going against a large fleet of highly trained and merciless fighters wasn't the best idea I had. Before I was about to charge I was soon stopped by a man I never met. An elven male who claimed to know my father. As proof, he handed me the family sword. He was said to take me in. To train me in skills that I would never learn back home. I agreed, and soon joined a group of rebels and thieves determined to fight Fusos in any way possible. They were known as the Lapsa
There were a mix of men, elves, humans, Centaurs, dwarves, I even saw my first glance of an arituum. I learned archery from the perfect elves, swordsmanship from warriors fighting since they could hold an axe. I learned to hunt, to heal, to speak the languages of the land, they never let up on me. They saw the ancient weapon I held. They knew who I was, and they were going to harden me up before anyone else could. For the second time in my life, though, my belief in this fight was starting to fail. We were ambushed one night, friends I had grown to being slain in front of me by orcs and man themselves. I fought off as much as I could before I had to retreat with the survivors. Soon, I lost hope, and did my best to take care of myself. I stole from the corrupt, I never killed unless I had to, and when people needed help, I helped them. Other than that, I kept to myself. I became infamous. "The High King" they would call me. It didn't take long for me to get caught. I had my blade before though, giving it to a member of the Lapsa.
I was taken to Dorden to be questioned about the man named Rilden. I used a fake name, and since they had to proof I was him, I was let go... but not without them branding me, and torturing me to know what I did. Luckily I have a strong will. Others weren't so lucky. Young men and women of all species, screaming, yelling, begging for mercy... It changed me. The boy that once dreamed of having a peaceful, happy place to live was back. Once I was let go, I returned to my things, and started something I should have done a long time ago: To find the gift bearers, and if they are around, to help me fight back for the High Kingdom.
Personality: Very brave and headstrong. Has a strong will, and is hard to betray those who have helped him. Although it may not seem like it at times, he cares for all those in need. Very quick thinking, cunning, and can be a charmer when need be. He did live with thieves after all. If respect if shown, he will give it back. Doesn't discriminate against any race except the ones meant for evil. A classic hero personality
Faction: Thief, Outlaw, but ultimately the New High Kingdom
Gift: Gift of Onsryn, but has no idea he bears the gift
Weapon(s) of choice: Fortis, the blade my ancestors held before me, an elven bow, and a dagger for hunting.
