Vordak, admittedly had he not braced the way i had him my character would likely be dead or have dodged. it didn't help i hadn't remembered that your character had such kinetic force behind him. so i kinda got lucky as well...here's how the block worked
the metal his swords are made of is near indestructible, the only thing keeping it from being so would be a chemical that is found in the raw ore and is used in the forging to break down the metal into a workable state (that powder and high heat and the swords will melt easily) one of the qualities they get once the chemical is worked out is the ability to redirect or absorb energy based attacks, to a lesser degree including kinetic energy. so the sword itself helped.
next was his stance, bracing himself with a hand on either end of the sword to stabilize it would help take the load the sword didn't along with his natural muscle and bone strength from having developed in a higher gravity.
last was his shadows. acting as braces to help take the strain off joints and helping add over all strength they would have taken even more of the impact then the character himself, drawing away the effects. and with the sword in hand that he's blocking with he could just as easily infused metal into the shadows to make them stronger and able to take more.
