How long is your bio supposed to be (minimum)?

As long as it gives us a good view of your character, there is no minimum for a bio. It could be 10k letters long, or it could be 1000 letters long. Just as long as it gives us a outline.

Yup, always room for more, and like Sightles said, we're a Free RP because we don't like to push standards. The only real rule on length is as long as it works.

Name: Adrian Kelzhar

Age: 27

Gender: Male

Race: Half-orc

Appearance/Clothing:

Weapons: Morningstar, 5 daggers

Personality: Adrian does not care much for diplomacy or charisma. He thinks of nobles as prissy, stuck-up brats that have never experienced hardship. He was born and bred in Mullen, so he knows back-alleys and the thieves' guilds that inhabit them very well. At first glance, a stranger might think of Adrian as a cold but level-headed person. He doesn't covet wealth too much.

History: Adrian never knew his father, but the love of his mother compensated for it. His mother used to work in a brothel, but that was before Adrian's father came *hint hint*. Adrian remembers his mother as a kind, caring and compassionate woman who earned an honest living as a seamstress. The bandana upon his head was made when he was eight. Unfortunately, his mother was kidnapped and sold into slavery by none other than his father himself. Adrian was not able to save his mother, but he didn't recognize his father and killed him brutally. Now, he makes a living as a thug-for-hire wandering the streets of Mullen, thinking of a way to get his mother back: dead or alive.

I like the details given and the character itself, but Orcs don't really fit the current setting, or are at least not native to Estovet. If that's something you're willing to revise or talk on then I'd be glad to accept the rest of the bio immediately.

Figured I'd post a bio for Eva since she's becoming more prominent.

Name: Eva Stonewater

Age:22

Gender: Female

Race: Human

Appearance/Clothing: Eva stands slightly above average height for a woman. She has a somewhat muscular build, and tanned skin. She carries the characteristic Tauran traits of grey hair and orange eyes. Her hair is fairly short, reaching just shy of her shoulders, and is nearly perfectly straight. It is parted neatly across her forehead.

Ordinarily, Eva wears a simple dress made of charcoal grey fabric. The garment has loose sleeves that reach the middle of her forearms and allow comfort and ease of movement. The bottom of the dress extends about halfway down her shin. The only decoration the clothing seems to bear is a row of silver buttons running from the neck to the middle of the chest. The dress' loose-fitting nature makes it perfect for concealing the armor beneath it.

Underneath her dress, Eva wears a sleeveless cuirass of scale mail made of a tough blackened metal. The cuirass reaches just past her hips, and has a belt of black leather wrapped around it's bottom to hold it tightly in place and prevent jingling or other unwanted sounds. On this belt, Eva carries multiple sheathed daggers, all of which are affixed tightly so as to conceal their existence. In addition to the cuirass, Eva wears a pair of black trousers that are hemmed just above the knee, and a sleeveless shirt made of black fabric for padding beneath her cuirass. In a bad situation, the dress can be abandoned for the more tactical gear beneath it. Eva also wears a pair of brown leather sandals, but these too can be abandoned if needed.

Weapons: Eva carries a variety of daggers on her person. At the back of her belt, the Tauran woman carries two straight, double edged daggers roughly seven inches in length. The weapons appear to be made of steel, with black leather wrapping serving as a hilt without increasing weight. They have no guard or pommel and have excellent balance, making them useful for throwing as well as melee combat.

A second pair of daggers are affixed to the belt a few inches in front of the first two. These are a pair of stilettos with narrow blades made of polished steel. They are roughly ten inches long and are useful for penetrating armor. They have small crossguards made of silver and a handle made of a black wood. Two small orbs of silver serve as pommels for the weapons.

Eva's final two weapons are a pair of single-edged knives worn near her hips. They are roughly thirteen inches in length with narrow, slightly curving blades, making them useful for both piercing and slicing. The weapons are light, making them useful for quick melee combat. They have no guards, and 'hilts' made of wrapped black leather in a manner similar to her smaller knives. A small totem hangs from a ring in the hilt of one of the knives. The totem is made of some kind of stone and is in the shape of a bull's head. It is an idol traditionally worshiped by native Taurans. It is believed the totem brings strength in battle.

Personality: When assuming her identity as a handmaiden, Eva is usually somewhat quite and inconspicuous. She tends to keep to herself and avoid bringing any unnecessary scrutiny upon her person. However, her true nature is a bit more fierce. She takes her mission very seriously, and will go to any lengths to keep the Princess out of harm's way. Though her main reason for protecting Sophia are her orders, she has grown fond of the girl over the years. She has been familiar with trauma from a young age, and thus is usually able to cope with bleak situations fairly well. She is not quick to panic.

History: Eva grew up in war-torn Taura during the Third Tauran Rebellion. She was born to a poor family, mainly surviving off of farming. After Lyoki forces put down the rebellion, most returned to their homes. Some, however, took to looting the countryside. Eva's village was sacked by one of these rogue legions, causing the death of her family. She, too, would've been lost in the chaos if the force sent to put down the raiding party had not arrived. The Faceless Legion, led by one Celeste of Redmoon, cut down their rogue brothers in droves. Following that, the area was searched for survivors. Eva, now orphaned, was taken back to Veranthium along with a number of other Tauran children as a sign of goodwill towards the now damaged colony.

She took an interest in the military, seeking to join the ranks of the Faceless Legion who had saved her from certain death. She took to weapon's training rather quickly, and was trained specifically for the Blackcloaks from an early age. She did eventually join their ranks, but was given a very specific mission. She was to assume the role of Princess Sophia Octavia's lady-in-waiting. In truth, her purpose was to be the last line of defense for the Princess in case all others failed. Other Blackcloaks were placed in similar positions to defend Sophia's sisters.

Ep, could you clarify Maria's questions more clearly?

Edit: who exactly are the Royal Arcarti Scouts?

Sorry for the delay I was away for a bit!

Maria is asking him to speculate on why she hasn't made any attempt to fight back, which might seem strange considering she is claiming to be a soldier.

The Scouts are a specific part of the military of the country of Arcartus (the blue one on the right side of the map). Arcartus and the Scouts have been tangentially involved in the plot since a woman named Lexine Tristan was killed a little over a day ago in-game time and papers were found on her body implicating a few officers from their ranks, which is why the Arcartis are currently interested in investigating that rumor. The Scouts themselves are of moderate renown, although only among circles interested in a foreign country's military. Their presence in Keilaudrin is unwelcome, because of a reputation as infiltrators, saboteurs, and generally dishonorable wet-workers. The military of Arcartus is split between the jurisdiction of the State and the Royal Family, with the royal family granted largely ceremonial authority over a select few groups when the state military is not already using them, which is where they get their naming convention.

The Keilaud military is more feudal in its organization so it's difficult to provide a comparison and none of them have come up in the thread other than the differences between the palace guard and the king's knights (The Order of the Thistle), but in tl;dr the scouts are something akin to special forces.

Not really, Trinan was referencing the tendency for Scouts to contact the criminal underbelly of hostile lands when they need to exist under the radar, and by that logic their name is probably known in the world of organized crime. Of course, it's your choice on whether this particular guild has heard of them or what they feel towards them. The intent was a little half-subtle exposition with a little something to follow if you wanted to.
