Lara saw a hare pass by them. Animals always know the way out of places its their instinct. "Follow that hare!" As she ran after the animal the voice filled the room again. Suddenly dogs came from all sides. Lara could hear them bark and growl. Before she knew it, the dogs had cornered her and the hare. The girl picked up the scared hare and held him close to her protecting it. Lara always had had a weak spot for animals in need. One of the dogs lunged at her and she shut her eyes tight in fear. She felt a sharp pain in her shoulder as claws hit her.

Alex was taking up the rear now since the guy behind him changed into a rabbit, odd enough, and then suddenly the voice talked about dogs and dogs came running into the maze. "That's just great." Alex said as he was running. He then saw Lara was now cornered by a dog with the rabbit in her arms. The dog leaped at her Alex said "I'm gonna regret this." Alex then ran and tackled the dog which made both him and the dog hit the metal walls of the maze which were getting really hot from the wall of fire being so close. Alex felt the metal burn his arm and side through his shirt but knew that the dog also hit the wall and was burned as well. Alex then got back up on his feet ready to fight the dog.

Charlie the hare heard the loud sound of the microphone come on, then several words were spoken, but his adrenaline was rushing, so that m,ade it hard for him to understand much of what was actually being said, All he heard was a large barking, and his eyes grew wide, his ears shot up, and he lurched forward, or tried to do all of these things, and would have succeeded, if he hadn't been picked up, gently but firmly, and held tightly by a warm presence. Unfortunately the dogs had caught up with them, and his prey instincts kicked in, he tried to escape the warm hands, but as he was held closer he could feel a bit of his humanity coming back, and his mind cleared long enough to think that he was safe in these arms. He wasn't sure what was going to happen next, but he knew that nearby there was danger, the kind with fangs that ripped and jaws that slathered, minds that worked as a team, and voices that were harsh and unforgiving. His heart thumped faster and faster, he hoped that it wouldn't explode, though to be honest, that was lower on his list of hopes than was not being torn to pieces.
