Really. There's more to RPing than lovey-dovey happy-tappy romance. But if you really really REALLY want to do romance, don't expect lovey-doveyness. Expect either a male partner with psychological issues and Asperger's syndrome that's going to be a major struggle for a female partner to love and care for, or a dysfunctional gay relationship where both guys are complete assholes to each other.
Since I should probably present something, here's an idea of mine alongside with a sample of my writing, a barely-started story based on said idea.
Sample of Writing
Strangelands
A personal setting of mine, set in a post-apocalyptic world where the pre-cataclysm world "got stuck" in the 1980s, much like how Fallout got stuck in the 1950s. It's 2051, 18 years after a world-wide cataclysm triggered by a catastrophic accident at a Soviet particle collider. Microscopic trans-dimensional portals opened up across the earth and closed as fast as they came. Alien elements brought over from them altered climates and mutated people and wildlife alike, and society collapsed as a result of food shortages, massive disasters, mutant attacks, and many other things. Anthro characters, formally known as moreaus and colloquially as furries, exist. Yet still, there's still about 1000 regular people for every moreau/furry. Oh, and lots of prehistoric animals, from dinosaurs to sabertooths, were brought back. Expect influence from Fallout, STALKER, and multiple other sources.
Here are some points to go by for you to keep in mind when RPing with me.
1. If we're going for a Free level RP, it'll be brief, and we'll have it over Skype. PM me for my Skype contacts.
2. If Casual or Advanced, I want someone who is willing to help me learn and grow with my writing capabilities. I don't want someone who's going to kiss my ass. I want someone who's going to give me fair and legitimate feedback on what I'm doing and how I can be doing it better. This'll be longer term, and we'll have it over Google Docs. PM me for further info.
3. I'm wanting to RP my main OC, Wayne Travers. Be warned, he's an anthro lion-cougar mix. Yes, he's a freaking furry, and he's also pretty dark to boot. Immature, bigoted, foul-mouthed, sarcastic, mildly autistic, and can be quite violent if provoked. A little bit like a furry version of GTA V's Trevor Phillips, really. But I try to keep him from being a copy while simultaneously trying not to turn him into a Sue-like character.
4. If you're unhappy with Wayne, I've got other characters, and I can also make them up on the spot.
5. Yeah, I RP furry stuff, but I don't want any wolf pack-type crap. With anthro characters, they'll co-exist with regular humans. They'll walk and talk like regular people. They'll express themselves like regular people. They'll wear clothes, hats, glasses, and shoes like regular people. If we're having anthro characters, they are, in practical function, human beings. Hands and feet, not paws.
6. I've got ideas for RP scenarios of my own, but I want to show some humility and hear yours too. Don't have any? Let me know you don't, and tell me which one of my ideas you'd like the most.
7. I may be a bit blunt, and I may have preferences of my own, but I don't want to dictate the whole RP. I want it to be a collaborative process, where we can both analyze, brainstorm, and do a bunch of other wonderful collaborative stuff with the RP. I won't rip you a new one for asking me questions. Be open and speak freely.
8. If there's anything else you'd want to know about me or how I RP, then for the love of all things holy, just ask.
