So, first post.

Well, considering that i'm on an RP forum, I should probably have some questions because I am completely new to RPing, well, other than reading a few threads to see if it was something that i'd enjoy, but that was, on a completely different forum.

First: Are there any good resources about general RP etiquitte? There seems to be a bit of that in some of the thread that i've read on other sites.

Second: On some threads that i've seen, they might make a few posts every day or so, while others might have a bunch of posts when the key person is online, generally about every 15 minutes from each other, is there a way to tell what a thread is going to be ahead of time?

Third: Would it be better for a newbie to try to become one of the original people in a thread or jump in on an established done that's still taking new people?

Fourth: Did you make any mistakes when you were new to RPing that you could have avoided?

Fifth: Am I taking this way too seriously?

Firstly, welcome to the Guild 2.0! xD

On one hand, I like that you actually have questions but on the other hand, I think you might be psyching yourself out a little.

1.) User's Guide to the Guild should help with clearing up a bit.

2.) Each role play is different; some GM's decide the post-speed and some just let it go freely.

3.) Either way, it doesn't matter. I would personally recommend starting with a clean-slate RP that hasn't already begun, but it is truly up to you.

4.) I was around 11 when I started roleplaying (god, don't ask - my mom didn't monitor our computer time) and I can't remember much of it, started in Yahoo! Chat. All I can say is...start small. Don't push yourself into doing huge posts with a bunch of filler crap if you're new to roleplaying. You can work your way up like most of us did.

5.) Roleplaying is serious business, buster xD.
