The men, clad in furs and bearing Maquitl sword clubs split up into groups of six. . . there were five parties of these men, and all of them were great hunters. Some had bows and arrows made of the strong muscles of certain beasts. Others of these men knew how to make very hardy armor just by soaking cotton in brine and somehow fashioning it for them to wear on their bodies. They also had slings, and some had leather shields as well. All of them were experienced fighters, and they were all led by the man known as Brunar. Brunar was the strongest among them. He bore a bronze shield and a bronze sword, with his helmet and armor, and his shin guards and sandals also clad in the finely crafted metal. In later years this particular bronze would be better than most warrior's master works of steel, and somehow this armor and weapon was not even enchanted. It was a fine set of protection and a mighty sword. To his side was the only woman of the group, the wise Valeria. She had dark, tanned skin and appeared to be unarmed, but appearances could be deceiving.
All of them noticed the traps on the floor, there was no way these experienced men would be taken by such a trick. This place was a marvel of engineering at the time, only Valeria or Brunar would see anything that would begin to come close. This place was huge for a building of this time period. It had half a dozen floors, In later eras this wouldn't be so impressive, but for now it stood as a somewhat monumental fortress. The men began to slay the local beasts of avian kind that infested the area. Ravens, owls, hawks and other birds of prey of quite unusual size. In the end, four of these groups out of the six made it to Angelo. . . they were taken by his beauty, and Valeria's eyes furrowed together as she looked at Brunar. "This doesn't look like what we were looking for." She noted. Bruno nodded, but readied himself in a fighting stance. "Who are you? Where is your master?" He demanded to know. . . .
