I did sit on a step stool for a while at one point, but never a full ladder.

One of my feet is usually resting on the other knee while I'm leisurely browsing the internet. If I'm gaming or doing something otherwise intensive, I sit up straight with my feet planted firmly on the ground like a normal person.
