Ally grinned widely, shrugging and moving so his chin rested on Moe's abdomen. "Yeah, looks like it. I'm gonna grab a banana and bring it back up here. I'll be right back." He got up, affectionately tapping Moe's nose before making his way downstairs to the kitchen. His foster mom, Alaina, was waiting for him.
"You brought a boy home."
"No, Alaina, they're not a boy. Or a girl. I'd prefer if you use neutral terms for Moe, please." Ally sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose as he grabbed the yellow peely fruit and tried to abscond upstairs. Alaina quickly moved to block him.
"Ally, you know my rules. You aren't supposed to bring anyone over without asking first, ESPECIALLY someone you're planning on having sex with then sending home the next day. I don't want whatever you picked up on the street in this house." Alaina spoke in a hushed whisper, obviously angry.
Ally seethed, eyes narrowing. "Do not ever insult them like that again. It's not like that. Moe's my friend. Please, just let me go back upstairs then we'll leave."
"No. You've broken my rules, and you live with me. You're grounded, and he has to go home." Alaina said, expression irate.
"Alaina, I just told you. Don't use male pronouns." Ally gritted his teeth, and his fist that wasn't holding the banana clenched.
Alaina rolled her eyes, sarcastic. "That's fucking stupid. I'm not doing that. He needs to leave, and I'm taking your phone. You aren't getting it back for awhile, maybe never if you keep arguing with me."
This time Ally growled, staring her down. "Like hell you are. I paid for this phone and the plan myself. You're not getting it."
She froze, before opening her eyes and staring at him calmly. "Then leave. If you're going to disrespect me, and my rules, you can feel free to leave.
Ally laughed coldly, rolling his eyes. "Oh, I'm disrespecting you? I wouldn't have such a problem with this if you had just listened to me and respected Moe. But you're choosing to ignore what I've asked of you, and on top of that you're trying to take property that is rightfully mine for a bullshit reason. So, yeah, I will leave. And Moe, since I know you can hear all this, I'm going to ask you come with and grab my phone charger on the way down. That's all I need from here."
Alaina looked at him, shocked, before screaming. "IF YOU LEAVE NOW YOU CAN'T COME BACK!"
Ally looked near tears in an instant. That's something he didn't expect to hear from her. After 3 years, he had grown attached to Alaina. He spoke slowly, trying hard to control his voice. "I really hope you don't actually feel that way."
Alaina hissed her words, blinking away tears as well. "I do. If you go now I'm changing the locks and not letting you come back."
Ally stiffened. "I'm gonna go with Moe and give you some time to cool down and consider what you're saying. I love you." He started walking out the door, not missing how Alaina didn't respond. He ran out to the middle of the empty street, hyperventilating as he hunched over, hands on his knees. He was nearly missed by a car speeding by, and it honked at him. He didn't react.
