Name: Israel Akanahe - prefers to go by 'Iz'.
Age: 33
Gender: Male
Personality: Iz is the very persona of a "gentle giant". Having grown up in a very isolated place with parents that could only be described as "that adorable old couple you sometimes see on a gameshow", Iz considers himself blessed with a well mannered upbringing. His father instilled a sense of discipline by having him chop wood and stay in his amazing physical condition, while his mother would always send him to town warning "If you cause trouble,
I'll be the one chopping wood!", and since his mother had always been a frail woman Iz always worried about her safety. He's never desired to hurt anyone, regardless of what facade his appearance may attribute.
Iz is very far from shy- in fact, he enjoys meeting new people. He simply doesn't have much to say, very much an observer; however, when he does speak up in his deep and warming voice people often listen. He's not one for small talk, though, and will often try to contribute as much as possible to the topic of conversation without deviating too much.
If one were to try and sum up Iz, they'd probably say: Homely (the good kind of homely) of personality and strong of morals.
History: Israel was born in Hawaii to a very "lumberjack"-esque father and native Hawaiian mother. They moved back to the "mainland" states to escape the crowds of tourists when Iz was one year old, and even then he weighed almost as much as a loaded suitcase. His mother and father resettled in an isolated wood in your typical 'mountain cabin' style home.
When Iz was of age his father taught him how to swing an ax and cut wood. His father began to notice that Iz was gonna be a biggun', and having devoted to staying in shape himself, decided he would instill this same philosophy on his child. The lack of specialized equipment combined with his mother's comfort food cooking led to Iz becoming a giant of an adolescent; would've been amazing at football if he wasn't home schooled. Iz spent a large portion of his teens and twenties cycling between working out, chopping wood to keep the fires going, and walking to the tiny nearby town to buy whatever his parents told him to get. He once was given an old bike by a kind shopkeeper Iz frequented, but he turned out to be far too big for the poor thing and it wasn't long before it snapped.
Regardless, the days were coming when Iz was going to start preparing to leave his home and start his own legacy. His plans were all brought to an abrupt halt with his father's accident.
He's still convinced it was outright murder, but Iz's father was shot in a "hunting accident" (Iz tried hunting a few times, but his hands were too big for a rifle and he would often break the strings on bows) that was committed by a member of the family that disliked Iz's father for whatever reason. In fact, it was only when this tragedy happened that Iz learned of the feud in the first place. His father fought, but ultimately succumbed to the wound.
Worried about his mother and convinced the tiny and aging woman wouldn't live long by herself, Iz remained at his parents' home, now extremely protective of his momma. In recent years he's acted solely for her interests- he hates to see the woman grieve though he will often grieve with her if need be. He's learned a variety of new skills while caring for his mother: he can sort of cook (Though his mother often still does), he taught himself to drive his father's beat up rustbucket of a truck, and he can even quilt if he focuses (His fat fingers aren't very good for precise work).
Being so isolated, Iz hasn't heard much of the recent events of bonding and such. Such tales aren't new to him, though, practitioners of "magic" have always been rumored but passed off as "crazy backwoods folk".

Animal: Mountain Goat
Gender: Male
Age: 6 years- the average Mountain Goat will live 12 to 15 years.
Personality: If anything, one could observe that the personality of the Goat and Iz are one and the same: the Goat is a large and muscular animal though it is incredibly gentle. He is very unwavering and courageous- whereas most Mountain Goats are only protective of their young, this one seems to be protective of, well..
everything. This is where his gentleness wavers- when defending something he cares for he won't show mercy or restraint, and those horns don't feel good.
However, being around such things he defends will open up the other side of him, as long as he determines you pose no threat- he may nudge or butt at your hip, but that's just him sayin' "Hey."
History: He's live the ideal life of the Mountain Goat: he lives above the treeline with two other male goats, often only traveling significant distances during mating season. Recently, however, one of the two he's lived with wandered off and hasn't returned for several days, leading this one to believe he's either gotten lost , found a better food source, or killed. This goat wants to find out.
