With the Advent of FTL travel Humanity cleared the stars to create for themselves an Empire without end. Creating that Empire however came at a huge expense of manpower and resources and soon that dream of an empire failed and Humanity became fractured and lost.

Other Alien races saw this and their views were mixed. Some saw them as a renewable resource to be harvest, others saw them as a pest that needed extinguished and others saw them as potential forces of change. Those that helped humanity taught them advanced medical sciences, resource gathering and terraforming of planets, and with that humanity flourished and reconnected itself. Most humans saw the Alien races that helped them to be a saving grace, other more humanity centric people looked upon them with disgust.

Then came the War of the Third Sphere, the Alien race known as the Ecclsecis, who were robotic in nature launched a full scale assault against humanity. Upset that they were being helped rather then them. The war devastated many of the races that fought with the humans. several went extinct, others retreated far from the people they had come to care about. Sooner or later Humanity stood on its own against them. Humans learned of Battlesuit Technology from fallen Ecclsecis War Engines, reverse engineered them and soon the tide turned and Humanity stood on the brink of Victory. In Humanities greatest battle, the WarLeader of the Ecclsecis was destroyed and Humanity set about reshaping the way they conducted themselves on the universal stage.

They became an Empire again, and Empires are forged on the battlefield with blood being the catalyst for change. Humanity established the Free Legion in which races of aliens and Humans could work together to establish order and freedom from the evils of the universe.
