We're switching over to a monthly format. It's easier on a smaller staff to get things done with more wiggle room to get it together. The RPGN -is- recruiting, however, so if you want to be on staff, drop a message!

Sounds fine by me.
Will you be increasing the art assets used per edition to keep the same mount of exposure (assuming you're not already strained with finding banners anyways)?

is RPGN-recruiting team looking for people to complete specific goals every edition?

Thanks for letting us know!

Probably not. The cutback allows more time to work on the content, including the art. If there is an increased demand for the RPGN to run twice a month rather than once, we can always switch back. We're just trying this out to see how it goes.

As to how we staff, we tend to let people work on what they want to work with, and then a couple more of us swing in and handle whatever is left. However, for the moment, we're down to three or so people on staff. People can stay on as long as they want once on staff, barring any trouble (and there never has been.)

This might be the more apt thread to bump when getting a bot post off the front page. Just to get awareness that RPGN needs people who are good to apply. =P

Have you guys ever considered changing up the way the RPGN is made version from version?
Like having people (or a couple people) be in charge of the same section each version?

Honestly, yeah. I can't speak if it was the case for every issue worked on, but the one time I did it the organisation and communication between people was kind of... all over the place and almost nonexistant. It needs better organisation.

You caught us on a particularly bad week Pachamac

But typically speaking I would say we do need organization and stability, sadly we don't always have the staff for either. People want the newsletter but don't want to make it, even the little effort it takes to just round up the info for the staples, let alone fun stuff. On old Guild we had the Comrades who were supposed to be producing the news as part of their duties and even then we had trouble with how much effort people were putting in and who was actually doing the greater part of the workload.

So this time we tried to leave it open to the community, for eager people who wanted to put it together. In the beginning we had lots of people, enthusiasm and ideas, now we have neither. Just a few dedicated people, several of whom have really busy schedules and still we find time. But we have hiccups, like you saw.

I am all for mixing up how it is done week to week. We have a default form for those times where we have no one helping or when the people who are helping aren't doing what they are supposed to. Then we throw together the formula. We encourage people to add things they like to the news, but rarely do we get more than ideas people want done, but don't want to do themselves. It is frustrating, on both sides of the news. I'd love to hear from people here who have ideas and are willing to see them through.
