I watched a few episodes of Trigun but I couldn't get into it. The concept seemed good but I don't think I understood the context of everything that was going on, they talked too fast so I didn't catch all the subtitles.

O.o What context is there to misunderstand in the first few episodes? All you need to know at the start is that there's a legendary outlaw worth $$60,000,000,000 built up by all sorts of crazy rumors, though it turns out he's actually a pacifist and a goofball. Also, there are a pair of insurance agents sent to find and keep an eye on him since all the damage he supposedly causes costs their company a great deal of money.

That's really all there is to know as of the first couple episodes. Sure, the story and setup becomes considerably more complex over time, but Trigun's great at not giving you too much to think about at the start.

I've been looking for another anime to watch though. I've gone through Death Note, Psycho-Pass, Amnesia, Noragami, SAO season 1, only a couple of episodes of season 2 then I stopped because I thought the story got dumb. I tried Vampire Knight but it was boring and the animation looked really awkward and unnatural. I started watching the newer series of Fullmetal Alchemist and didn't understand anything and then realized I'd need to go back and watch the old series first. It looks good, but I don't know if I want to start it. Netflix was dumb and took down Avatar. Obviously I've seen Ao No Exorcist but I actually didn't like it that much (Just Mephisto, he should have his own show). I'll take recommendations, preferably ones that Netflix has.

Hmm... I recommend Cowboy Bebop and Samurai Champloo. Both are great and they also share a director - and it really shows. If you like one then it's likely you'll enjoy the other, as well.

Perhaps I was thinking too hard. I was kind of having a lousy week when I started it so maybe I'll give it another go.

The former isn't available to stream but the latter is, I've added it to my queue. Guess I know what I'm doing with my weekend.

You couldn't follow FMA Brotherhood? Sure, it starts out right in the middle of something, but IIRC they explain things all the time in that show.

And you don't need to watch the first one. Brotherhood is a remake. But hell, maybe you should go give that one a try if you think it will help.

Golly gee, I'm really having trouble imagining how someone would want to turn off Brotherhood. Hard to empathize.

I don't blame you for quitting on Trigun. I had the same problem as you combined with not actually finding the characters compelling enough to push through it. Plus it was 2goofy4me.

Go back and find Ed and Al compelling >:I

If it helps any, it gets a lot darker and more serious after a little while. Vash turns out to have quite a bit more complexity, too.

I don't know why I can't get into any fucking anime recently.I caught an episode of SAO a long time ago and thought it was lame. My friend's convinced my to watch it and so I did. It ended up okay overall, but I was not on board for all the animu drama. I watched a bit of SAO 2 but then stopped after episode ten. Right when the animu drama in the cave really went down.Anime tropes are killing me. I want to watch anime but ugh.Psychopass was pretty good actually. Though some parts really annoyed me. I think it might have been the overall story's logic combined with individual character logic. But I will acknowledge the possibility of the problem being me over-thinking things. Kill La Kill is alright. I watched a few episodes and stopped. There's a pretty good chance that I'll continue, but it hasn't really hooked me. Another trope I don't like is school-centric animu. I also don't like a lot of animu comedy but Kill La Kill is p. good in that department. I dunno.I haven't tried Fairy Tail because the name is fucking lame. Yeah, that's right. That is actually my reason. That and it sorta looks to have the same feel as Soul Eater at first glance. Including having the same audience. And Soul Eater just seems too immature with dumb jokes and shitty shit.I know that there is a slew of Seinen anime I could watch, but I have a hard time getting into those for other reasons.I just want cool... not faggy anime :(It's so hard.

Fairy Tail kicks Soul Eater's ass. I don't know about the audience, but the shows are different, both in plot and character development(Fairy Tail does a lot of character development.)
