Heck of a speech, especially that Iron Curtain thing. That may be used by other people. We need to do just one post where it's nothing but Churchill and Truman playing poker.

Lol, of course I didn't write it, but it was so moving I had to let Churchill speak for himself.

Well posted my sheet for FRG. Surprised nobody jumped on them yet, they had the most crazy, heated part of the Cold War. Alot of researching to do though. US history was really vague; though from what I've seen so far, Konrad is the messiah among German political figures. Should be fun playing an workaholic aggressive chancellor.

I gave up looking from the military numbers in Brazil during 1950, but what would be the best guess? Since, the latest numbers should 80,000,000. And that is why too much, so..

I still need help on this.

I haven't been able to find the numbers, and I've looked when I've had the chance. I'll look again, but after that we'll have to just wing it.

Edit: Call it 327,000 and a much larger number of reservists. Four major military commands, 1-4th Army and assorted independent units. There is also a federal police in there that is militarized.

A large part of the military's enlisted are conscripts on a short term of service, which is a standard of the era; one or two years of service and then time in the reserves.

Turns out, Churchill was such a prolific speaker that I don't need to (although I will every so often) come up with too much original material. I have all 25,000 or so contributions he ever made in Parliament.

Well just put in my speech, short compared to other monolithic speeches. But it will do. I need to get into some more studying on the period, as I've only scratched the surface so far.

So you're going to CRTL-C and V Churchill's speeches... that's not very 'original' more like plagiarism (unless you give the link to the site where you find it). HeySeuss, what do you think of this? Should he just make his own speeches or allow him to keep going?

I don't see anything wrong with borrowing from history. It gives it that historical umph that not even the best RPer can do. As long as the conditions are the same as the ones when the speech was made it's all good. Churchill talking about the Iron Curtain when there isn't one would be tricky.

Yeah I don't see a problem with that either as long as the context is correct and it works with the situation. That Iron Curtain speech is iconic in its own right and i'm glad they got o use that one. :) Not sure how many others can work but time will tell.
