Agni's Characters:


Name: Seraphina "Sera" Evans

Age: 16

Personality: A rather cheerful girl with a sunny disposition, Sera seems to be a confident young woman. She can make friends easily but tends to keep them at arm's length due to her dangerous inferiority complex. Being the only child of the famous Weapon/Meister duo has put a lot of expectations on her shoulders and she often thinks she'll never live up to them. Her determination is rather impressive but is also a double-edged sword; although she works harder than anyone, she will work herself to exhaustion if someone doesn't stop her. It is said Sera looks a lot like her father when he was turned into a girl in the Book of Eibon, but her personality leans a lot more towards Maka's, especially regarding her temper. Although she doesn't get as angry as easily, once she does she becomes a storm to be reckoned with. And as nice as she is, Sera has yet to find a permanent partner. It's not helping her self-esteem at all.

Short Bio: The only daughter of Soul Eater Evans and Maka Albarn-Evans, Sera has been in the proverbial spotlight ever since she was born. Although she has been one of the top students in Shibusen, she has yet to accomplish as much as her parents have at their age. She also can't seem to keep a partner for long, due to a mismatch in wavelengths.

Weapon or Meister: Weapon; she is a double-sided scythe.

Appearance

Name: Mitsui

Age: 17

Personality: He is normally very stoic and serious. His training left little room for enjoyment as hammered in the personality he wanted in an ideal warrior. Trained to be merciless, he has almost no pity for those he battles. Despite that, though, he has two "flaws" that he might see as a strength. He, like his father and his father's teacher before him, has a soft spot for children. He will fight a child, if need be, but he would prefer to avoid that type of battle if possible. Often times, he will go out of his way to make sure no harm comes to a child or just simply to make one happier. The other "flaw" is that he is strictly honor-bound. He refuses to take an advantage. He won't fight an outnumbered opponent or an unarmed opponent without cause. If he fights, it is to be a fair match on both ends. That being said, if someone tries to cheat in order to win, no mercy will be given in the least.

Background: The young boy was born to the son of a swordsman, taught by the legendary warrior, Mifune. The man had inherited his teacher's One Hundred Sword style and used the same type of style to a lesser degree, unable to keep up with that many weapons like his teacher could. Despite his best efforts, the man never lived up to his teacher's status and would fall just short every time. Despite that, when his son was born and word reached him that Mifune had been beaten by a young Meister named Black Star, he swore to avenge his teacher.. Granted, this was during a war against the witch Arachne and the man had been fighting for the cruel witch...but that was no excuse in the eyes of the student. He decided to dedicate his life to defeat of Black Star and the annihilation of any remaining members of the boy's clan.

Fast forwarding years later, Musashi was brought up by this man in the same manner that Mifune had brought up his own student. He had the same core ideals and, above all else, he had a strong desire to be the strongest. Even after his father found and fought Black Star, losing horribly to the much stronger opponent, the boy was determined to do what neither his father or his father's teacher before him could. He would defeat the man who was said to be able to beat god himself. He would find Black Star and beat him, surpassing all of them and proclaiming himself as the strongest warrior to live.

Thus, with his father and teacher gone, Musashi set out to make a name for himself, perfecting his art in any way he could and rising up to become a somewhat prominent mercenary, seeking where ever conflict may lay to further perfect his skills.

Hey, so I was wondering where we should go next now that Sera and Mitsui have met. What should we do from there?

Hm...I don't really know. I figured they'd both be on the run. Witches are hunting Meisters/Weapons that side with Shibusen. Mitsui saved Sera. Then there's the madness creatures that are just roaming about. I was also thinking that they possibly run into a lesser witch that tries to fight them, or one of the witches pets. Basically solidifies the fact that Mitsui can't really rely on being part of the witches' sect.

That's a good idea. Let's have it be the witch's pet first with the witch watching from afar.

Now, time to pick an animal!

Hm...you want to have command of that one? I keep thinking between frogs and cats and mice, but it's unoriginal with the actual plotline...i just got back from work a half hour ago. My mind's still a little fried. xD

I'll introduce the witch's pet in my next post, no problem.

So, two things I wanted to mention. First of all, didn't explain well in my post. When I was saying she'd find out his fate anyway, I was going under the assumption that she could see the details of his last few minutes with her magic or because he is her familiar. So his message was directed at her whenever she does look to him to figure out who killed her Familiar.

The second was basically a question of what we want to do next? A witch is above Mitsui's skill level. At least, what I'm assuming Karasuko would be at since she hired him. So it might be easier to send lower grade witches, creatures, or the Madness beasts at them in the next bit. Also thought of having random creatures/supernatural beings that they could run into. I've been considering having the two meet Kid's son in the next village they pass through. I think it might be too soon, though. I'm assuming Serephina will joined Kid's son if he's fighting the witches and searching for survivors. Mitsui's still only with her because he doesn't want her to be harmed. If he gets her to capable hands, he's still at a point where he would simply leave, satisfied that she can protect herself.

I'm sorry it took a while for me to finally see this post. That's a good idea to meet with Kid's son but not so soon. Do you plan to have Mitsui travel with Sera indefinitely or are you just following the flow of your character? It'd be a shame for them to part ways so soon after her meeting a capable partner. But it's your character and I'm fine with whatever you choose.

For what's next, if we think about it they've already reached the outskirts of the city that is pretty much deserted and empty of any survivors. Sera would want to find some people she knew from the city, be it classmates or teachers. She doesn't know where her parents are (she only knows they're on a mission) and is having doubts on what they've done, so that's a internal dilemma she'll be dealing with.

And yeah, fighting with Karasuko would not be good right now. We could have them reach a small town to rest and it's suddenly attacked by Madness beasts with their guard down.

That's a possibility. I think we might hold off on that, though. I'm going with the flow of my character. Right now, that flow is that he's upholding the same honor his masters had before him. He's a protector first, until he finds Black Star. However, he's still a mercenary. His protection only really comes to those he sees as younger, being kids in his eyes. So he would follow Sera until they find someone who can take care of her. Then he'd leave her to them and continue his search elsewhere.

As for the Madness beast, I think that might be a good idea. It provides a clash in our characters. Given their situation, he wants to run away, but the beasts are attacking the town. She might see him as cold-hearted for a while, but he'd go out of his way to save a group of children or people in need.
