I just got done binge watching the first season, sue me. Also, I'm only using names from SAO.

I also find it a little depressing that no one mentioned me using Daisuke Niwa, and Dark's pictures for my character. Is DNAngel really that obscure? Because if so, then that makes me sad; that was what got my into manga and anime in the first place (it was also what showed me that they existed at all. Since at the time I got my first volume of the series, I had no idea that Pokemon, Digimon, and Sailor Moon were from Japan)

I try not to call out that stuff you know? Sure I know who they are but it just seems rude to go "Oh, so your character is Daisuke Niwa? Got it." So I generally don't.

I heard the name 'DNAngel' before but it didn't interest me enough to check it out, so It wouldn't ring any bells for me.

If you read the thread, you'll find that most people have posted their sheets already and majority of them are based in Tokyo. Why are you using names of existing characters though?

As for the reason I didn't put Tokyo as his location is because that's kind of vague. See, Tokyo isn't really a city officially (or at all, people just call it that), it's a metropolitan prefecture. Most people live in Tokyo's 23 special wards (which are on the land that was once Tokyo City), and each ward governs itself like a city. Honestly, Tokyo functions more like a State in America then a city. Normally this wouldn't be an issue for an MMO based RP, but since it's designed to give our characters a chance to interact in the real world, I feel that location matters a lot more. Although this may just be me splitting hairs, I'm kind of weird like that

No one cares (at least I don't) that you decided to name your character and online alias the same as an already established character, and the only one making it a big deal is you. If you want that for your names, be our guest and use it. Oscar just asked why you decided to name your character as such. That's all.

It's probably just best to pick a ward/district you feel is better for your character, don't need to base it on others locations. Most, if not all, is located in tokyo, just different places. Hard to pick an exact place that's near everyone lol.

A few of us listed the ward, most people just generalize Tokyo and list it as the entirety of the Metropolitan Area. Perhaps then it just implies that's their entire area of activity, or going by your comparison to a State: perhaps like how some people say they only live in Texas, United States.

I'm guilty of that, I've never said where in Texas I live.

As for being aggravated by people not recognizing your character naming and image usages... The point of homage and reference is to be subtle, if not humble about it. No matter how important some piece of fiction is to you, it's unbecoming to get angry at people for not realizing or not mentioning your referenced works.

On a personal note, I'm fine with you using other characters' names from fiction, especially in an MMO. Not like we don't see at least 50 variations of Kirito's names running around Final Fantasy XIV, after all. Some may look down on this as they feel it's not creative enough, just pay them no heed and make sure your actual roleplaying is original. In the end, the name itself doesn't matter, but the roleplay.

I was waiting for more people to make a CS and list where their character lived. That way I could just put my guy somewhere in the middle by using a map to check where each place was. When I finally listed Nerima as his home, that was basically me caving to what I perceived as hostility. I tend to be over sensitive in new groups. Which I also why I feel the need to defend myself from what you said, even if you didn't mean anything by it

That was less me being angry about people not noticing the reference to DNAngel (I wasn't even mad at all), and more me feeling a little disheartened that people were quick to point out my use of Kirito's name, but not the uses of pictures from (what is to me) the most nostalgic manga series of all time. What I felt was more me feeling a strange combination of self loathing and depression...I kind of have a self-esteem problem

Well, I've finished my sheet and don't intend post it until the OOC comes up. Also, I don't know much about inner Tokyo geography. >.> I could do some research.

As far as character relations go, my character will be relatively new to the MMO. Although, I suppose it would be possible for Card Captor's maybe, I dunno.

Yeah, A.J will be generally known by about everyone, as she has a vlog about her adventures in The World, but she actually has very few friends in the game, two to be exact, which I hope I can use as NPCs: an information dealer, and a self-proclaimed gaming Buddha.

Just thought of a few questions that I was originally saving for the OOC, but... Eh, I'll ask them right now.

• Inside the MMO
1. Most importantly... Does our MMO even have a name, right now?
2. Are there any famous guilds yet? If there are, what kinds of guilds are they (i.e. Zerg PvPvE guild, crafting and trading guild, elite arena PvP guild, PKK guild, PK guild, etc.)?
3. In .hack's The World R:2, character customization was highly limited. Obviously we have people with rather radically different pictures, here, but it still doesn't change that they could be presets. How in-depth is character customization in our MMO?
4. Are there sub-classes? Or is it truly like The World where there are just some unofficial classes that some people like to take? I'm thinking along the lines of Log Horizon, which had things like a Scribe sub-class. In the real world, Final Fantasy XIV has non-combat classes, like miner or fisher or tailor.
5. Character Stats, I'm talking HP/MP. Is there SP or any other stat? Similarly, someone asked about skills/spells... Are we just sticking to the (rather limited) skill sets in R:2, or are we allowed to make our own?

• Outside the MMO; The World Outside
1. I believe you mentioned that this is taking place around 20...20? What are common technologies that people use daily? I'm talking about hologram kinda things and personal robotics. It's likely not that far, but I figured I should ask.
2. Is this the first VRMMORPG? Actually, The World wasn't even a VRMMORPG, now that I think of it... So better question: This is a VRMMORPG, right?
3. Either way, what is the control scheme of our MMO? Is it a Nerve Gear like SAO, or a head mounted display + physical controls like The World?

• Meta-game
1. My character is a programmer and game developer, similar to Zombeh's character. Is it possible to have my character's history include a hand in the development in our MMO? Nothing as powerful as lead developer, but just part of it. A previous employee, basically.
2. ... I had one more thing, but I forgot.

My idea for my character is that while he's played a lot of video games, he's relatively new to the MMO scene. If Kumori wants to plan something out for our characters, then I'm fine with that
