Stones crumbled off walls, sidewalks opened up to caverns miles deep, and the roads had cracks in it. No survivors, human or otherwise, reported be rescue teams. But they didn't look close enough. Dust covered, a human lay gripping the edges of a cavern. She felt as if there was no hope for her. Of course, the police were deaf. They didn't hear her screaming and crying. Her brown hair fell in her face as she again looked into the inky blackness below, wondering how long she would scream, would be awake, before she hit the end and died. She looked back up, and felt her fingers slipping. She again whistled through tears and sobs. This time, there was an answer. A medium sized, curly haired dog trotted up, and she sighed deeply. A rescue dog. Her fingers slipped, and she screamed as she fell into inky blackness. But some thing happened. The dog grabbed her as she fell, and she hung, dangling, from the mouth of an impossible dog.
