First things first everyone this is not, in any way, related to Star wars.
Just in case the title created some misleading thought.

Anyway this roleplay is billions of years into the future, technology is incredibly advanced.
So much so that the universe has been completely explored and conquered by the empire that spanned from Earth over 700 Billion years ago, one man would have the dream of killing god and establishing his own kingdom that would last for all eternity rose up through the political ranks and forged an empire that spanned over the entire Earth in little more than 2 years.
The reason for this was science.
The man was a scientific pioneer and his ideas mixed with the zeal and great minds of his Imperial Division of Scientific advancement gave birth to many great things.
Terrible but great.

But the one thing that he and his scientists created was, in the end, the greatest thing of all and at the time no body could ever have fathomed how important it truly was.

It was dubbed 'The Curse of Infinitum'
In short it was eternity in the form of a drug. The most loyal members of the aristocracy and the numerous divisions through out the empire were all blessed with this drug.
However it was called The curse for a reason. It changed the biological functioning of the body's cells. It made each copy stronger rather than weaker, as well as allowing other cells such as brain cells and neurons the ability to replicate.
So after a millennium some people who were 'blessed' started to see why it was a curse, every attempt on their own life failed. Their skin was stronger than any metal, fire tickled the flesh and no amount of oxygen or sustenance that they deprived themselves of would end their existence.
However their zeal did not end with that. Many scientists who were cursed tried to find a way to end the existence of those that wished it, an order issued by the Emperor himself as it would only be so long before they tried to instigate a rebellion.
In the end they developed a special form of energy that could rip through space and time itself. The very essence of reality.
This was embedded within a blade that was handed to the emperor and he swore that any one who wished for themselves to end their cursed existence, he himself would end it for them.

But that was all ancient history.

Now the Emperor is the most undisputed force in existence, he had only one goal left and that was to kill God and forever end fate and the possibility that his empire could ever fall.
Stars are artificially fueled, planets receive shipments of liquid that when dispersed can create ores and gasses in so that miners and many other jobs can continue to exist and the very expansion of the universe that would lead to the Great Collapse has been halted by machines.

The Universe exists because the Emperor wills it...

Or is it God that wills it?

In term's of technology and scientific advancement the empires total level of it is exponential, however the Empire only releases certain advancements when the time and situation demands it.
So to simplify things the overall level of advancement of the empire that is currently distributed and utilised by the universe will be measured by a level system, ranging from 1 to 10, it shall begin at 1 for everything, including military might. I will outline the specific areas and what they currently entail later on. It's a lot that I have to detail and explain, so sorry at this moment in time.

This is mains story of this RP, naturally it has a great deal of lore and history as well as explanation to do, that will all be filled in at a later date, if this RP attracts interest that is.
I'm looking for about 10-12 players and you will all start as loyal servants to the Empire, however it is your choice to defect and go on a mission to end it all or continue to serve so that in turn existence can continue.
The Emperor is not far off from Godlike. The only ways in which daeth can be assured are these:
Killing him with his own sword.
Going back in time and Killing him(Time is regulated by a device known as The Temporal Tower, it is at the heart if the universe with the Capital system of the Universe. If you use any form of time travel outside of that tower you will be apprehended seconds before your use of time travel and killed instantly
Utilising the Ragnarök Connection. (The Emperor is borderline god, and all gods have two devices in which they can be summoned with and commanded to do 1 thing with. What your command is is up to you.)

If you decide to defect, one of those options is open to you to take.

The fact that a Universe is a bit too big to do something in, the main events will happen and take place in the Capital galaxy I'll have a map on it if this role play kicks off.
Also whilst I did mention that every one will start off loyal naturally we need at least half of the people taking part in this roleplay to defect without a doubt. So if you reserve a spot please let me know if you will, without a doubt defect.

And that's, hopefully, the main basis.

Eh? I tend to figure out my characters personality on the go, helps me feel less restricted. I know he will do his best to be a loyal soldier/citizen, but that may or may not prevent him from rebelling.

I know you said very advanced, but do we have any set limits on tech levels?

I've modified it to detail technology, unfortunately I can't deatil of it at the minute.

So, basically not running around with gravity guns and molecular dispersion rifles.

Haha. No none of that, remember technology in weaponry is not very advanced if you're the sole power in the universe. Any the soldiers of the empire are something to be feared, in the beginning of the roleplay a fight with one of these is a death sentence.
But like I said this is just a very brief taste, I just wanted to know if people were warming up to the basic idea.
The first OOC post will be humongous, it will deatil all of the relevant technologies, and what the soldiers and the Emperor are like.
Sometime tomorrow maybe, I will detail the average soldiers load out and explain anything technology they utilise.
At least then you can get an idea of what the basic weapon and armour is going to be like.

I have a couple of questions!

What is law enforcement like in the Empire?
In general, are people afraid of the Empire's power or blissfully unaware? Is there dissent among civilians at all?
Will the characters who don't rebel become antagonists to those who do?

There is no dissent amongst civilians simply because the Empire is responsible for their continued existence, it's not exactly fear to speak against them nor is it that they can't. The Empire, to the average working citizen is like how we see the stars today.
"You can only see them in a certain light, but they're always there."
Everyone knows the empire exists. But they care about paying bills and feeding their family. Not what the Empire does.
The army serves as the police as well, roughly there is 1 million soldiers to every 10 billion citizens.

However paradise isn't what it always looks like, naturalists are the empires primary concern amongst the population, these people think that artificially fueling existence is wrong, religious elements are also seen as a disturbance.
These are generally the main stokers of the fire of rebellion. But they struggle to villify the Empire and the Emperor himself.
However the ones most likely to rebel are those under the 'Curse' and those who already serve the empire in science or the military. Also members of the aristocracy, power is something everyone strives for, but who's willing to try and take it?

And finally you can decide amongst yourselves sir you know each other prior to the start, this will create some drama.

I've been thinking about it and I think I'll be a servant of the Emperor, though as to what kind I'm still unsure.

I would be interested, and depending on how the rest of the people fall I will take either side. Both sound interesting :p
