Hum?It might be a nifty idea. But your traveling compatriot is a Feral Mage...wouldn't that put her in immediate danger with us?

Well, Mia herself is technically a feral mage but as she only manipulates steel and her main magic is her steel arm, as long as she doesn't openly go "Hey guys, check this cool metal arm magic trick" or make steel float she could probably go undetected. As for Emil, his magic tends to be more support/defense oriented so again, as long as we aren't openly using our magic, we shouldn't be easy to point out. Or do the guardian/tower mages have a way to detect other magic users?

Illusionists can, since the school of Illusion has to do with any spells affecting the mind (including mind reading, so they would read your mind to know you're a mage), but otherwise no.

And if I recall correctly, there are no current magic users of the illusionist type, meaning no one could find out anyone else is a mage without seeing their magic first hand. Though I could be wrong, my work schedule keeps me in a state of mind where I'm prone to miss a few details (closing/night shifts = nocturnal schedule for me lol)

Correct, no player characters are illusionists. In fact the only PC with knowledge of any of the schools of Mystos is Tali's character (pending revision for acceptance) with Curses. So the only way anyone will discover you're a mage is if you do something to reveal it.

Oh, also, I wanted to just ask everyone cause it might help us catch others in the RP at different times. What time zones are you guys in? I'm on EST, but with my work schedule I'm usually up from 12PM to 5AM most days/nights, in case anyone needs to talk to me about anything :)

I'm PST, and I keep some messed up hours. Ranges anywhere from 7 am to midnight to 11 am to 2 am. Generally, if you need to get a hold of me, say something in the OOC or PM me and I'll get back to you as soon as I see it.

Brand said The only problem i'm seeing with your CS is the age. I'm having a hard time accepting a 13 or 14 year old girl is capable of rising to the rank of a knight, your character is too young for the accomplishments you've listed. Not to mention that a girl that young who relied on the sword in a fight would probably be demolished sheerly out of lack of muscle development (even if your shade is very knowledgeable in swordplay). You're welcomed to play a character that young if you think you could pull it off, as it would be an interesting perspective to have a little girl in the group, one with the mind of an adult and literally not scared of death (I see some interesting dialogue here), but a 14 year old girl with a longsword would be pretty useless in a fight.

If you want to go this route tune down the accomplishments and consider a different weapon (one more suitable to a person of smaller size). Otherwise make your character older (at the very least 18)

Ferros, by the way, doesn't really recognize the Knight class and isn't big on chivalry. You're more than welcome to say some people have adopted chivalry and knighthood akin to the western nations, but adopting chivalry will somewhat distance your character from your countrymen culturally.

Like I said, you're definitely taking some interesting angels with your character here, but the age and list of accomplishments you've given don't match.

That's my bad then. I was under the assumption that Shades were supernaturally strong regardless of what they possessed, which is why I figured the size of the body itself didn't matter. To clarify one thing, however, she isn't 13 or 14. If the girl wouldn't have died from fever, she'd be around 20 or so, but the body itself doesn't age while possessed, so it stopped growing. I also misread the tab on Ferros as them being the only nation that cared about knighthood and chivalry any longer, so that's why I went with that route. Don't worry, though. I'll get it all fixed eventually.

Yeah, the vessel a shade posses is preserved as is, no aging no healing no nuthin. Once you get it fixed up you're accepted.

Well damn, posted in OOC xD

Might as well ask a question: I would Imagine Vespar would be constantly threatened with sieges, attacks, invasion and so on?

Okay. So as long as she doesn't use magic, her main form of offence and defence in front of Kotori/Alaric, she'll be okay......I can already see the dilemma.

Additionally, I'm Pacific Time usually like Salty. But at the moment I'm elsewhere. And my time zones change alot. I travel quite a bit in my occupation. ^_^;

Seems logical. I'm marching with a column intending to attack the city - so it seems that's the way things are going to go.

Oh, and I'm GMT+3 - Saudi time.

May I ask about naval technology? I'm assuming that gunpowder isn't a thing in this world, so are ships outfitted with ballistae instead of cannons? I'm just wondering because I was thinking of having my second character be of a seafaring profession. :3

Oh, and I'm EST if that helps figure out sort of what my hours of operation are.

I did too, haha. Not to mention how scary it would be to see a soldier next to you impaled and sent flying by essentially a huge fucking arrow.

Pretty much.

Lacking in practicality (other than armor piercing power) while having a great intimidation factor.

That raises an interesting question - I've been thinking about what role something like siege equipment really has in a world with with a bunch of mages running around. Is it worth building and transporting a bunch of mangonel when there's a bunch of people who can achieve the same effect just by waving their arms in the air?

It's not very relevant for me, since I'm the only character disconnected from the world of incantation, but how widely disseminated is magic? When push comes to shove, what percentage of the general population can lob balls of fire or something equivalent?

That is a great question.

Also, updated my sheet to have the three important NPCs in Nyirr's life have a small sheet themselves.
