Alicia continued to cut through the oncoming horde of bugs as she fired off shot after shot of blue energy, slicing the occasional spider that lunged. She saw the hammer guy launch himself through the hole and was about to withdraw to collapse the tunnel before she heard a voice from bellow, seeing a girl holding out her hand. She noticed she was holding her side and grimaced before the wings spread a little wider, the jets slowing down a little so she could descend lower towards her. Instead of taking her hand she handed her both her weapons, "Use these and cover us, both have triggers and I don't think I need to tell you which one shoots and which charges the blade" she said, using the time given from the plasma rain to explain before she would scoop the girl off her feet, securing her with a tight embrace before she'd kick off the floor, the jets letting out a blaze of fire to compensate for the extra weight. "EVERYONE OUT OF THE TUNNEL!" she'd call as she flew up back through the hole, the spiders following behind as they would all make their way out.

Once outside she'd use her perception to check that everyone was out before placing the girl down gently. She'd then quickly step forwards while reaching her arms back to pull both her larger wings from behind her, the metal blades shifting and molding in her hands before they formed two larger and scarier looking versions of the smaller ones she'd handed to the girl. The wing cannon charged a ball of blue energy as Alicia knelt down to compensate for the recoil before the ball released into the mouth of the cave, detonating into a catastrophic explosion which collapsed the cave entrance, crushing some of the bugs in the process. Some of the bugs made it out but they were easily picked off by the other students while Alicia returned the Hawks Talon to her back as it transformed into wing form again. She then let out a deeply held breath, taking her tail wings back from the girl before placing them onto her back. "Weren't you told not to go into caves?" she asked as she recomposed herself from the close call.

Maia was glad she wasn't being left behind, though really she was more distracted by the strange and lovely weapon the girl had, two of the peices even being handed off to her to cover their retreat. Thankfully they were not that hard to get a hang of, more so for someone like her. Using the gun to hold them off rather well, given that she did not want those things anywhere near her, more so since she couldn't really fight close up while being held like that. Zooming out of the cave Maia was put onto the ground, leaving her to support herself but with her tail wrapping around her waist she was able to join in picking off the surviving Grimm from the act of blowing up the cave.

"Heh... I wonder if this makes us advanced"

She joked more to herself before handing off the weapons to the girl and being told off for going into the caves... Looking back to Regi for a moment she looked to the girl and smiled. "Yeah, I got a little cocky, thankfully Regi came to help me" She said, straightening up, the pain turning from a burning to just a slight pain.

The dust hadn't settled down by the time the instructor, flanked by two teachers came up to the group. The instructor was pretty pissed.

Crane: "You troublemaker. What did I tell you last night? Don't cause any more trouble. It hasn't been even a day since then, not even a day!" >:/

Valios: "Now now instructor Crane. These kids just went through enough don't you think? The import thing is they are all safe."

Crane: "No thanks to you Reginald. You are on thin ice boy." >:/

Valios: "Professor Aris, will you help me check them for injuries?"

Valios and the other female teacher began checking the group for anything too serious. In the mean time, instructor Crane was stil lon Regi's case who seemed ready to cry with regret and apologetic face written all over him.

Crane: "I am warning you. If you pull another stunt I will personaly make sure you get kicked out of Becon. From now on until you graduate I will be like your shadow. Just give me a reason." >:/

Valios: "Oh my....."

As professor Valios was getting some webs off of Regi to check him for bites and wounds he stopped and grinned.

Crane: "You put the entire group in needless danger and you almost ruined the team assignment task. And for what? Just so you can have a little fun?" >:/

Valios: "Instructor Crane...."

Crane: "Some of the other students neglected their chance to become a part of a team and fight for a chess piece because of you. How are you gonig to make it up to them? You may have just ruined their entire life while they are here at Becon." >:/

Valios: "Instructor Crane!"

Valios startled Crane and finaly got his attention. Professor Valios chuckled and peeled something out of the webs on Regi's back.

"Hey Aris, does this mean he wins?"

Varios peeled off of Regi a silver chess pieces. The others who had just bronze once all protested in unison. Crane was just standing with his mouth open.

"Eeeeeeeeeeeeee!" >:/

Aris: "We have never had a case like this. It's not in the rulebook. But also there is no rule that prevents initiates from entering advanced combat zones and retrieving chess pieces from them........also it's professor Aris...."

Valios: "Ain't you lucky Regi, you little devil."

Valios laughed as he gave him the piece and slapped him on the back, almost making Regi fall forward.

"There is no way you can allow this, instructor?"

The guy that pushed Regi down there seemed pretty angry about this. While the professors were discussing the matter......and Aris was pulling Valios by the ear for adressing her so friendly, Regi made his way over to Maia and Alicia who seemed to be the only two without a team.

"I-I'm so sorry. For causing you so much trouble. The instructor is right, I-I will try to make it up to you I promise....you even got hurt because of me....and I don't even know your name..."

He mumbled that last part about Maia, feeling guilty.

"Here, it's not much but you can have this."

He offered the silver chess piece to Maia and Alicia so they can decide on a leader for the team.

Maia just looked on at the scene before her, the teachers coming along and telling them off for having gone inside, though despite what she had said before it seemed the teachers knew it was Regi in the tunnel firs, how did they know something like that? It is possible through deduction given he was missing, but how come she felt like they expected this much to pretty much happen? Looking down to the Chess piece Maia smiled, thinking that she could finally be a leader, though she waited for a moment for the other girls reaction.

"I wouldn't mind taking it up but.. Do you think I could get treated soon? Ribs still bruised"

She said, waiting for just that... Useless teachers...

After the comotion was done with the teachers took everybody back. Maia could get patched up too. The guy that pushed Regi in the cave didn't like how things unfold, he was so stealing that silver piece later. Once back at Beacon, Regi went to get his scraps and bruises cleaned and patched up as well. The stinging was unbareable but Regi was a man, he was not going to cry over this.

"So, umm... Wh7y were you in there in the first place?"

Maia was in the bed beside his while they were getting treated. She had to wonder why he was even there in the first place, more so since he did not seem the type to just jump into things like that...

Regi was silent for a while, not sure how to answer her.

".....I-I fell down. I got clumsy and stumbled down one of the cave entrances. Physical activities were never my strong suit..."

He decided to switch the topic, he was jsut glad things worked out...sort of.

"I believe I haven't properly introduced myself yet. My name is Reginald, but you can call me Regi. Thank you for coming to help me."

"No problem..."

She was not sure she brought that, with how he acted in combat and even outside of it she knew he was smart enough not to do something so silly but she did not press the subject, after all there was little point too.

"My name is Maia, dont need to shorten it. So, what are you going to do with that chess piece?"

"You're going to keep it"

Alicia spoke answering Maia's question as she entered the room, walking up to stand between the two beds. She folded her arms as she looked between them, seeming to check them momentarily as if making sure they were alright. Her eyes moved back to them before she continued, "There was no question that what both of you did was more than just silly, going into a cave alone in your first year is next to suicide" she said, her tone rather blunt and to the point, however she softened it as she continued once more, "However, Maia you showed compassion for a fellow student and assisted him in his time of need. I believe that to be a defining trait of a good leader" she said with a small smile, her metal wings shifting slightly behind her as they responded to her emotions and her aura. "Either of you who take the position must understand the burden that comes with leadership. It's not a title of fun nor a title for vanity, it's a responsibility and a promise that when you walk towards the dark hand in hand with those you call your friends by your side, you will make damn sure every last one of them will make it back to the light when all hell has done nothing but claw at your mortal core. Accepting leadership is to accept that you will make the tough calls when the time comes... and that those who stand beside you may not be there to see the first grey strands peek from our hair" she said before exhaling, taking a pause to let that sink in before she added "In any case, I'm glad you're both ok. I'm sorry for seeming hard on you both when we got out of that cave... It was just the adrenaline talking"

Regi just laughed it off while scratching his cheek, a little nervous tick he had. At that point one of the professors from earlier walked in.

"Nice speach miss Sovereign. I am sure you will have an equaly good one for why you used your "Hawks Talon" in a confined environment after the student body specificly asked you not to for health concearn reasons."

Valios smilled mischivously as he went to check on Maia and Regi.....by poking them in a few places.

"Ow...."

"Yup, you'll live. Ain't that awsome." ^^

He went to take a seat and put his clip board down on the table.

"You kids decided on your team leader yet? All the other teams are ready and have submitted their forms and names. A lot of paperwork is involved you know."

Regi looked over to Alicia.

"You don't have a team either miss Sovereign?"

Alicia tensed when the professor walked in and gave a sheepish and slightly nervous smile when he made a point of how she'd have to explain herself to the student body. "Yes sir, thank you" she replied politely before watching as he poked and prodded at the two on the bed. Had he been anyone else in any other place she might have questioned how poking them would tell him if they were alright, but in Beacon stranger things had happened. She looked to the boy in the bed as he asked her a question and blinked with surprise, "Oh... I suppose I don't. I was so focused on other things I forgot to join with a team .." she replied.

Maia did not really like being poked, her tail swishing between her and the professor to prevent any more poking... At the others talking, and the suggestions from the two of them she was really thinking on it while the others were distracted with each other. Though she had to mention something on what Alicia said.

"I see. Saving our butts took up your time, I suspect?"

Though a little guilty she did hold out her hand for the piece.

"Well, they suggested it, so I guess I am the leader. I hope three members is alright for the time being?"

Looking towards the pair she smiled, already expecting them to be in the team, not liek she would take no for a answer.
