All right, then.

While at this point its moot and there's no point in changing anything, I would like to point out that thematically Romulus and Remus being the next generation of Castor and Pollux doesn't really work. Pollux sacrificed half his immortality for the sake of his brother, while Romulus murdered Remus.

They aren't reincarnations, as even Romulus became a god after death, they are Echo's, sometimes called shadows or doppelgangers. Twins born under the umbrella of Gemini, as they are now twins who shared their immortality and remain constant in the night sky. And because of Gabby and Ella's Greco-roman connection is why they only have access to those spirits, every set or magic or demi-god twins technically can be born under the Gemini even Helen of Troy can carry this Origin depending on how the character is imagined. Meaning that like the original brothers, their inherent magic allows them to share with each other, which is extended to all other echos or shadows. It's a complex origin, because it manifest multiple times even in the same generation, but due to the inherent abilities that come when channelling it, means all that hold it share a connection. Sorry if I made it too pointlessly complex.

This quote from Wikipedia, kinda holds the basis of the Gemini origin.
"Twins appear in the mythologies of many cultures around the world. In some they are seen as ominous and in others they are seen as auspicious. Twins in mythology are often cast as two halves of the same whole, sharing a bond deeper than that of ordinary siblings, or otherwise shown as fierce rivals. Twins can represents some "other" aspect of the Self, a doppelgänger or a shadow. Often the twin is the "evil twin"[citation needed], or one may be human and one semi-divine. The twin may be a brother, or a soul-mate, such as the "civilized" Gilgamesh and the "wild" Enkidu... ...Twins can also be shown as having special powers and deep bonds. In Greek mythology, Castor and Pollux share a bond so strong that when Castor dies, Pollux gives up half of his immortality to be with his brother. "

And Venetus in the game resents Ruber, I know my Mythology it was a large part of my degree.

Ah, so the ability was just named after the first people to possess it?

Wait a sec, how did they summon the spirit of Romulus, isn't he a god? Is that why they haven't had him actually do shit yet?

Yea castor and pollux, magical twins became the Gemini, and thus all magical twins afterwards also gained that title. A million reflections of the same two stars in the sky Castor and Pollux.

Romulus a shit, he is too strong a spirit for them to control into doing anything other than being a teleport anchor. And Romulus also a shit, so doesn't want to help of his own accord.

I'd make a joke about Romulus being the mythological source of dickishness, but even if we disregard Gil since he was more arrogant than dickish, Romulus would still have been beaten to the punch by Achilles. :zaru

Achilles was a dick. But Romulus was famous for the Rape of the Sabine women, the Murder of his own brother after vivving for power over the city the built together. And then he gets to become a god after it all.

And with Venetus, Romans use swords and spears, Its all tied to the fact that Ruber is Saber class when not Berserker, and Venetus is Lancer class, and we all know about lancer class.

At last.

You know, I think strongarm's Hercules and the Jimmy-in-all-but-name in CK's most recent war are the only actual casualties that I can recall.

Unless you count the Seventh War itself as a casualty, since that was killed by Byrd's endless bitching.

Avy died at the end of one war, as did Asune's dead apostle once.

And you know it is on all of us, noone likes to see their character die. Hence the casualities are so rare.

I don't remember that tbh. Were there deaths a result of the War, or the result of CK killing you with plot due to power creep?

No, I understand that. But at the same time, it feels like we get so dedicated to preserving our characters that we for get that character deaths are what we signed up for coming in to a HGW RP. Its meant to be a bloody, violent battle royale. Rather than trying to keep our characters alive, the focus should be on going out as badassly as possible.

Its probably why recent wars keep dying slow, painful deaths, honestly, or at least part of it. No one dies, so people lose interest, the hardcore afkers remain afk, so as a result almost no one is playing, so even the people who ARE playing have no one to fight, so they don't want to kill literally the only other people playing, so no one dies, so people lose interest, etc. Repeat cycle until game death. In the end, you get games like this one, were the dedicated few are playing six characters each because no one else can actually be counted actually do anything.

Admittedly, people using the Byrd-style of proliferative posting are the start of the cycle.

I really miss the Hive. It was so fucking good. It didn't even matter that your character probably wasn't going to last the RL week or in-game 12 hours, it was just so awesome.

Avy has died twice, both times I sacrifced him to progress the game and to stop power creep. As am the mod on NF I have no issues sacrificing characters for the good of the game. I only power creep to match the others, but still have no issues killing my own for the game.

Avy and Berserker vs Moses
Avy and Archer vs The Elder Dragon

Were when Avy died, firstly an Empathy spell that killed both he and Moses
Secondly he used all his mana since he was a spirit puppet to kill the dragon, and thus died.

Can't we end Elasa yet now that someone died, regardless Venetus called upon something with his dying breath.

VSaber is handling them, but Ruber is gonna now be the issue. Mad Enhancement A++

Elasa doesn't end until the battle is over, and none of the participants can retreat until then, thus the battle can't end with one side retreating.

So if someone pulls out a mutual KO, then this could end with no further deaths.

What would ME A++ even do? At A rank, it still only boosts all stats by one rank. Would A+ up the physical stats by a rank and a plus/two ranks, A++ all stats, and A+++ by all stats and requires manual control?

You worded it as until the battle ends, but I feel as after I accepted it, you have strongarmed me into a death match, when I was under the impression there was other ways to end a battle.

"Parameter Rules (パラメータールール, ?) are a set of rules for representing the relative power of each item ranked by letters under different systems, translated into specific parameters "for no particular reason."[1] There are five main ranks, E, D, C, B, A, that each have a quantifiable number assigned to it. Considering "one" to be a "normal value", E is equal to "ten" and it increases by ten incrementally until reaching "fifty" at A. There is also an EX rank that represents a value that cannot be quantified under the normal system because it is in a league of its own, powerful to the extent of rendering comparisons meaningless.[2] There are two different "modifiers" that can be applied to ranks, + and -. The "+" modifier represents the capacity of a temporary boost in power if certain conditions are met, allowing a weapon or ability of a lower rank to surpass a higher rank for a moment. While a B+ is generally weaker than an A, B+ may momentarily exceed A by doubling its own power.[1] + indicates a two-times increase, ++ indicates a three-times increase, and +++ indicates a four-times increase. The specifics of the "-" modifier have not been explained, but it is present in a number of different situations."

He has A+++ mad Enhancement, since it is controlled directly by his rage. So its A basically, but under certain conditions it can raise to up 4 times A, basically I didn't want to put it as EX, because it is A rank, but it also means that his stats can volatility raise, if the desire rises he can draw loads of power for small bursts.

But its ok, A teacher servant is going to put a stop to this unsanctioned battle soon enough. I allowed you your kill, so time to start moving on.

I guess, to use RPG terms, its a conflict of RAW and RAI. The way I wrote it, yes, there could be other ways to end the battle, but it was meant to be a death match, because it represents the battle of Elasa where Judah (in case you haven't figured it out, mani, ASaber is Judah Maccabee) and his loyal troops fought to the death without retreating. Elasa is meant to impose similar restrictions on everyone in it, leading to a fight to the bitter end instead of one side running away should the tide turn against them.

Its why I've been so insistent on it being a deathmatch despite the wording (I really should have just said "until the other side is dead" but ah well), because if you could just walk away peacefully from it, then it would defeat the logic behind the NP imposing those restrictions in the first place.

I apologize if I ended up strongarming you, that wasn't my intent.
