We begin with Earth. A planet, with some of the smartest beings in the universe. Some would say otherwise, of course, but their was no mistaking the human's great will for knowledge. Thousands of years with their strive for knowledge, and wanting to reach the stars above, soon brought them to the speed of light. Expeditions, that ultimately took up years, despite their newfound speed, were met with very little. HOWEVER, they continued their travels, year after year, before finally stumbling across what was truly the beginning of their journey. A foreign ship. This ship carried lifeforms none had seen before. Were they hallucinations from the workers who had spent so long watching a void? Not at all!(because that'd be boring) They were alien creatures! With a mind far more developed than the humans, despite humans being extremely developed. Slimey creatures, resembling that of slugs or snails on Earth, who had developed speeds faster then the speed of light, and were spreading this knowledge across the universe! 5000 years later, races of many form have sprung up with heavy exploration. The story before told, is a tale taught by every race, changing to make a specific race seem to be some of the first to travel space, the great snail like being, changed with every person who tells the tale. By now it's a large blur, nobody knows who created Faster Then Light Travel, and it's simply not cared about by anyone except scribes who wish to learn the secrets of life. The universe is today, filled with all sorts of people, shapes, sizes, and colors.even with the development of weaponry, that could easily defeat pirates or fight wars, these things seem to still happen! Though only few organizations can fully have a grasp over, even small parts of small galaxies. This is the tale, not of a great organization, who ruled large sections of galaxies far and wide, no, but instead, the crew of a small, possibly 6 crew ship, and their adventures across the universe, fighting against the law, growing ever richer, and making a name for themselves, before the day that they would inevitably be caught, and killed.

Ariens are a race of peace and tranquility. They are vegetarians and don't believe in harming other people or animals unless absolutely necessary.
Appearance:
Switch looks like you would expect a humanoid lizard to look. (Look up Argonians from the Elder Scrolls if you can't guess what that looks like.) He's a dark red and has a few green spots that go around his body. He's got a bad tattoo on his left hand that he got when he was younger.
Good Perks
Camouflage-- Switch can easily hide himself anywhere he wants. When he is hiding it can be difficult to spot him and he's noticeably faster than when he's visible.
Fighting skills-- Switch's species has three times the lifespan that a human does and he's lived one third of the time that he has to live. He's picked up a few things down the line and has learned to defend himself quite well.
Mechanic-- Switch is amazing at fixing things. He's always had an interest in being a mechanic so he started training when he was young and has become quite skilled.

Bad Perks:
Flat footed-- Switch is terrible at walking quietly, so every foot step he makes can give him away if he's using his camouflage.
Religion-- Switch's religion stops him from harming anyone or anything unless absolutely necessary. If he were to defend himself it would have to be a life-threatening situation.

Home Planet:
Rusor (I just kinda pulled that one out of my ass.)

Job On Ship:
Engineer/Mechanic-- Switch handles any and all issues with the ship. His only goal is to make sure that the ship gets from point A to point B with everyone in one piece.

Equipment:
Tools, a tranquilizer for fights, and a plasma cutter that is solar powered. The plasma cutter gets through most material and also has a mode that allows him to weld.

Apperal:
Switch is usually wearing a stained white t-shirt that fits him tightly when he works. A pair of jeans under that, and steel toed boots that protect his feet. Sometimes he'll wear an apron to protect himself from sparks. When he's not working he is usually wearing a tattered leather jacket that has a back patch from his first crew. It's very sentimental to him and he doesn't like people to touch it.

Biography:
Switch was born to two Arien parents on a spaceship that was heading towards his home planet, Rusor. His parents left him on the streets in a small village and Switch was picked up by an elderly Arien male that raised him up in his shop/house (the male was a watchmaker) until the age of ten. When Switch turned ten in human years he came home to find the home of the Arien male burned to the ground due to a debt that was owed to a fearsome pirate gang that terrorized Rusor. The pirate gang picked Switch up from the house and made plans to sell him off to slavery. That was the last time that Switch ever saw his planet.

On the ride to the slave auction Switch heard a guard complaining about his watch being broken. Having had a little bit of training in watchmaking by his adopted father, Switch bet the guard his freedom that he could fix the watch in under thirty minutes. The guard agreed and Switch fixed the watch in ten minutes, gaining his freedom (the pirates of the ship were quite serious about keeping your word) and sending the guard to his death. The captain let Switch roam the ship and soon Switch was drawn to the mechanic of the ship. Twelve years later Switch was twenty-two and he'd learned how to fix almost anything that could go wrong with a ship. He was an official member of the crew and had been branded in by the previous mechanic who died in his sleep earlier that year. Switch had settled in nicely with the crew and he knew that he wouldn't be accepted anywhere else so he agreed to become the new mechanic under the terms that he would never have to be involved in the killing of the innocent.

After another ten years Switch was thirty-two and the ship was taken over by the BST (Bureau of Space Travel) who sent him to prison to serve a twenty year sentence. Switch escaped the prison the night he was incarcerated by using his camouflage ability and escaped to a small town where he remained until he was offered a mechanic job on another ship with another crew. He agreed and now he lives on the ship with the rest of the crew. (I don't really know how long they've been a crew so I'm just going to leave it like it's his first day.)
