EDIT: OOC IS UP
The Knights of Songbird: A Bioshock Roleplay
Hello all, hopefully I have captured some interest here :)
I was looking to remake a roleplay based off the Bioshock game series that I did a while back on this site. I am absolutely in love with both Rapture and Columbia, and I created a roleplay that served as a crossover between the worlds (in a different way than the Burial at Sea DLC was able to do.) So I will give you a little run-down of the plot and let me know if you think you would be interested in contributing to it :) Also, I am very open to any suggestions for tweaking or adding to the plot. So, if you have an idea that you think will work just gimme a shout and I will be more than happy to hear you out!
NOTE: If you don't feel like reading my more than lengthy introduction, I will also provide a summary of the plot which you can skip to near the bottom :)
The Knights of Songbird:
We all know that in Columbia, the police force is more likely to serve the aristocratic and influential citizens rather than the unfortunate dwellers of Shantytown or the like. In the absence of a good PD, a group has been formed to protect the 'Regular Joes' and take care of business off the record. They called themselves the Knights of Songbird, after the great protector of the Lamb. Now, not everyone in Columbia is a supporter of the "great" Father Comstock (however most are wise enough to keep their mouths shut and carry on.) The Knights are a rag-tag group, undiscriminating. Some are devout worshipers who never miss a sermon, others smell something fishy in the clouds. But the look past that, because the Knights are family.
Now, on to the juicy bits. Far below Columbia lies another world, another universe. The world of Rapture. Here, scientists have discovered a substance known as ADAM. They have studied its qualities to reveal that it can be used for genetic manipulation. Of course in a world full of intellectuals, this is a magnificent discovery that has taken over first place on the demand list. In order to harvest ADAM, scientists have began using young girls as hosts. This process turns them into walking zombies and they become inhuman. This is not the only disturbing experiment taking place in Rapture... scientists who were tampering with cross-dimensional communication happened upon Columbia's own Rosalind Lutece, and her experiment which involved a child and quantum mechanics to allow cross dimensional travel. The curiosity of the scientists could not be quelled, and they began also trying to create a human who could open up portals to other dimensions. The began taking volunteers for "genetic study", but the volunteers soon discovered that they had willingly signed themselves over to a genetic prison.
One "inmate" decides to search for help, and he uses his new powers to seek out the Knights, in hopes that they can help him and the others escape from the terrible experiments. Thus we have our plot, of course with more sneaky bits and underlying stories to unfold.
SUMMARY:
So, we have a rebel/secret society in Columbia dedicated to the protection of those who cannot protect themselves. In Rapture, we have some cuckoo for coco-puffs scientists who are tampering with cross-dimensional travel and who have practically made a prison, luring in unknowing volunteers and holding them hostage until the experiments finally claim their now miserable lives. One of these unlucky "volunteers" uses his new but weak ability to reach out to the Knights for help. And that is where our story shall begin!
So the available characters will be the prisoner, a member of the Knights, a different character such as a policeman who is investigating the Knights, and in the past I have had someone play a Little Sister once we reach the Rapture portion of the plot (this was very interesting), and also someone's character was a Member of the Fraternal Order of the Crow as well as a member of the Knights. So the possibilities are endless, if you have an idea just gimme a shout and I will discuss it with you.
Okay so what are the thoughts here people? :)
