Hello, everyone. This is just an idea I had inside the world of DooM and during a late-night of playing Complex DooM.

Anywho, let's lay down the ground rules.

  • One: No leaving a day or two into the roleplay. If you must leave or stop posting for whatever reason, PM me.

  • Two: No God-modding, Power-playing, etc.

  • Three: Your characters CAN die, do not throw them into battle without caution.

  • Furthermore, rank structure is key here as a landing force isn't going to consist of all high-ranking enlisted or officers. There has to be underlings (IE Junior enlisted: E-1s, E-2s, etc). Further still, there can only be one specialty in the group at one time, however, a Rifleman can (if need be) take over a heavy machine-gun and vise-versa. However, a Rifleman cannot do a Tech Operators' job. Use common sense.
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
(The security force are Marines, so, for rank, please use Marine Corps rank/structure.)
    Character Sheet -

    Name:
    Rank:
    Age:
    Gender:
    Appearance:
    Biography:
Specialty: (IE Rifleman, Machine-Gunner, Squad Leader, Tech Operator, etc.)
Plot: Caligula Sector, UAC sanctioned space, 2143.

The link between each outpost had been tedious and full of setbacks, either financial or safety related. Interest in this quadrant had been surprising to most (especially the benefactors back on earth) but when it was realized that a certain material could be obtained, refined, and sold as a very lucrative form of energy, the UAC flocked at the chance to capitalize and monopolize the market. Demon's Eye it was named (the irony not fully appreciated at the time) and of the control samples tested, projections for usefulness as well as profitability, were exponential. The only problem was how to transport the precious material at more efficient rate, the answer? Teleportation. Many backed away from the undertaking; mainly due to the cost, time, and personal risk it meant to consolidate an effective way to melt atoms and rebuild them elsewhere. That was, until six scientists proposed an idea, one that would change the face of humanity forever.

The stage was set and everyone on board outpost Tei Tenga was filled with excitement (or indifference for the marines stationed there) towards the first trial from outpost to outpost. On the receiving end was the science station Phobos, originally constructed for asteroid mining, now fitted for the first round of what many hoped, not only for faster product transport, but personal use as well. Each of the six creators watched their creation closely, none fully realizing how powerful and foreboding it was. The command was given and the lever pulled, the hammer towards humanity dropped and everyone onboard station Tei Tenga watched as the creation shook and fizzled, spraying light everywhere before shutting down. The mood dipped and meandered, some were anxious, many confused. That was, until at first, only a sliver of green could be seen over the device and another then another. Air itself being ripped apart like a drive-thru movie screen as unimaginable horrors began to flood through the tears, raining death and fear into each person.

Those who weren't immediately killed, were turned into a husk of their former selves. Grey-skin, red eyes, and their entire mind set to only one, primal instinct: Kill. In the haze of the bloodshed, as colleagues turned on one another, the six creators were nowhere to be found. Only a small handful of surviving scientists were able to escape death or possession, those whom were asleep in the lower deck of the installation knew of the test but figured nothing after it cut power to the entire station. That was, until the sound of screams and agony could be heard above and eventually seen when the axillary generator kicked in. The distress beacon went off and then another and then another, suddenly six stations (including Tei Tenga) had frantically sent out beacon after beacon. The UAC dispatched a security force to investigate and despite numerous attempts at communication, no replies came from the battered outpost. Throughout the entire station, in only the span of thirty minutes, an eerie dark tone washed over. Computers fell silent, machines stood still, life paused.

(Writing this out at five in the morning, so, excuse the grammar and punctuation errors.)

I'll answer any questions anyone might have and try to be consistent with posts/replies, though my work schedule does make it a bit hard, I'll keep you all posted. In the meantime, I'm only looking for five people, as there is usually only five or so people in a squad. If you and another person want to be the same specialty, I will decide on who gets what after reviewing both character sheets. I am open to having a mod for when I'm absent and will be accepting applications via PM.
