Count me in, brother. Always a wonder how fantasy RP's are in such high demand (so people flock to their interest check threads like crazy) but so few in number.

Glad to see your interest.

I want to apologize to you all for going back on my word and not putting up a OOC today. Tomorrow it will definitely be up and you can start posting your characters to it. For anybody who has already expressed interest and also those who are interested now, here is a basic skeleton for your characters that you can get a head start on.

Name:

Age:

Race: (Caucasian, Dark-skinned, Oriental, Eastern, etc.)

Class: (Knight, Bowman, Town guard, Serf, Nobleman/Woman, etc. Feel free to be creative).

Appearance: (Picture please, written description optional as addition, no anime pictures).

Weapon(s): (If any).

Armour: (As above).

Place of birth: (If somewhere not provided on the list please add description of town/homestead/city. If from a foreign land, please consult me as this is a persistent world of sorts).

Brief History:

Sexuality:

Marital Status:

Other:

(More may be added to the CS when the OOC is posted).

I think the CS may be missing an inventory section. Weapons and armor are fine, yeah, but an inventory section usually helps keep track of non weapon/armor items that a character would be expected to have on them at any given time; this helps in deterring players from conveniently "remembering" that they have health potions or other useful items in their bags when such needs arise (although with the right group of players this isn't usually a problem), but generally helps maintain consistency and continuity throughout the roleplay, at least in my experience, as long as players are willing to update their inventories somewhat regularly.

If you're going to dedicate whole sections to things like marital status and sexuality, it seems weird to leave out an inventory section, especially when you include armor and weapons as their own sections as well. That's just my suggestion, though.

I'll refrain from working on a CS until the OOC is up since there's quite a bit of background info I need before I feel comfortable brainstorming. As far as appearance pictures go, are you expecting "face claims" (photos of actual people)? Because I personally don't like using those. I prefer a certain style of art that's somewhere between anime and semi-realistic, but if that's unacceptable I'll go description-only (or bow out if need be).

I'm interested in this. Great potential seems to be brewing :).

Btw, they said no anime pictures in the CS

I know, that's why I asked. I'm asking what the expectation is for them because to me there's a clear difference between say, a Lucky Star or CLAMP style and something more realistic even though they can all fall under an "anime-style" category. And to clarify, I'm wondering if it's acceptable to forego a picture in favor of going description-only because I'm very much against face-claiming.

How about we describe our characters through words? It's this strange thing writers do to prove they just aren't stamping their characterizations lazily with other people's work. Just a thought. =)

Haha, that's what I'd prefer, personally. I apologize if it sounds like I'm harping on the issue, the CS template just made it sound like a picture was required and a description was optional, not the other way around.

Yeah, that is what it sounds like. But I'll probably opt out for a picture and just post a description, though there is a few medieval and fantasy film/television serials I could probably borrow a "faceclaim" from but I don't prefer to do that.

Hey thanks all for the advice and interest, sorry about today being another slow day. If you don't see an OOC post up in the next couple of hours then it will definitely be up by noon my time tomorrow. Also, I'll get to answering all questions there as well but there were two I saw in particular.

On the topic of the appearance; A picture and written description is usually preferred, when I say no Anime that doesn't mean you have to lay a "faceclaim" there is plenty of other artwork out there without having to use the Japanese style or use a picture of a real person. Anyone who just wants to write a written description is more than welcome to but I will refuse anyone who I feel hasn't described the character well enough that we can imagine what they look like.

On the topic of playing Northerners; I'd prefer if you stuck to the South, just to somewhat keep us together even if this is open-world. Perhaps when the North gets more involved then you can start playing Northern warriors if you wish, that certainly wouldn't be a problem.

@Chanda, I knew my CS skeleton was a bit rubbish but thanks for pointing that out because I wouldn't even of thought of it!

@Everyone else; Thank-you so much for all the interest and putting up with the delays in getting this going. You are ALL welcome to make a CS and join the roleplay when the OOC is up! Looking forward to roleplaying with you.

No need to apologize, taking sometime to make the OOC is alright, if anything I expect it to be good and detailed. Besides my character roughly ready, just need the information from the OOC to flesh out the history.
