Old OOC
Interest Check

Someone said we should write these things down – said the world needs to know who we are after all we’ve done. After all we’ve been through and all we’ve sacrificed. I guess the heroes in the history books of our youth don’t really matter as much anymore. Not after all of this. We forget too easily the faces we didn’t look at long enough and the stories that mattered only at the time. The people, the places, the events that helped shape what became of us… they need to be known.

So, welcome to Hell. There are no red men with horns, wings and pitchforks dancing amidst flames here. There’s not many men left at all, I imagine. But, there’s us. And we’re still here.

Recorded Events

Siege of Evergreen, Evergreen College Haven, October 2020

The Evergreen Haven, a stable and strong community was faced against the Legion for control of the land. While the haven had many defensive strategies in place, the combination of undead and Legion proved too much. A deal made in the background by a few offered salvation. The 1007th repelled the Legion on behalf of Evergreen. The Siege ended within a day, resulting in Evergreen Haven falling under complete 1007th control.

Rumors of Immunity, Chico Haven, November 2020

Rumors of a potential immunity spread within the Chico Haven after eyewitness reports claimed guards had discovered multiple bite wounds covering a young child's body. Inside sources of the hospital where the child had been kept claimed the child was perfectly conscious and coherent with no indication of illness, despite clarification the child displayed minor traits of infection. Two weeks after the rumors began, the child had been removed from the Haven and brought to an unknown location. Since then, there has been no other information regarding the situation.

Not quite done yet, but tell me what you think of these so far, especially if I need to make any edits before I finish the final sheet.

Just going to go ahead and post, will edit in an app.

That excitement I felt when I clicked on that hider button, thinking I'd get to read the first CS, aaaaaaand... nope. You got my hopes up big time, Nevermind.

No rush, though. Just have it done as soon as you can. The sooner the better. ASAP. Quickly. No pressure.

Even without Brick's CS, I think it's safe to say you're accepted. So unless he turns out to be the worst character in all of literary existence, you're good. I love Tony and Allie so far, although I really can't picture Allie in my head. I started off thinking of a rough country girl who likes to throw a few punches but is morally intelligent, but then she sort of became that one kid in high school who smokes in the bathroom and writes song lyrics on her self-torn jeans. I can't really picture Allie as much. Once I read more of her, I'll probably get a better understanding. Still, great characters so far.

Just to clarify, Allie would be about 22-ish, correct?

Welcome to Apocalyptica, Jazzy! If you want to go ahead and post in the IC now, you can. We're not all fully set up, but don't wait on us. I'll let you know once we're all ready.

I'm sorry, forgot to add her age in my hast. Allie will be about 24-25, within that age range. Because she lacks a calendar and only knows the general idea of what month it is based on season, she wont quite know exactly how only she is, but I'd say in the area aforementioned. I based Allie around this picture, removing most of the technology like the Nightvision goggles and all that:

Click me!

I should probably go into more detail about her appearance. Edits will be made in the near future. Brick will be up later tonight, maybe tomorrow.

Introducing Tomás Gellemo Lombardi... Deep thinking veteran desperately searching for his older brother, only to discover that the best way of finding him is through the 1007th.

Not sure how old Simon-Pietro was, but I'm operating under the assumption Tomás is 28-31. Strengths and weaknesses are written into the last couple of entries. Let me know if you need anything else!

Aweena, I'll likely use Abbie's CS again. It's a very good account of her personality and history which works well.

Edited in Brick's sheet for review, happy to make any necessary edits!

Euclid, I have a feeling Anthony would like Leopold, because Anthony's an old fart at 53 and will probably recognize just about anything Leopold finds. He'd be good at appraisal of things beyond Leo's time. God knows he needs a reminder of the good ol' days.

Finally! That only took a few decades. But so you know, I judged it so intensely. It was very well-written, actually; it was a nice, easy read with a good flow. I like Manu - even if I don't know a whole lot about him yet, I like how he sounds so far. That street-smart survivalist who is only looking out for themselves; you made him sound more like a harsh, self-concerned realist than a typical post-apocalyptic hero. I like it. You're definitely accepted. Welcome to our RP!

Truthfully, I did not expect Simon's brother to appear out of nowhere. I don't know why it took my so long to make the connection - "Lombardi" isn't even that common of a surname. At first I was on the fence about this idea (what is this soap opera plot twist?!), but after reading your CS, I think I'm okay with it. I can't speak for Shon himself, and if he ever does return the two of you may need to have a conversation.

If Tomas was presented without any connection to Simon, I would be ecstatic about having you on-board (I still am thrilled to have you, mind you). Your writing style is amazing; you'll definitely fit in with us. I'm still going to accept you (I'd be stupid not to), but can I just ask that you come up with a way to work around things should Shon return and decide he's not okay with it? He was a great person and I don't think he'd be upset necessarily, but I just don't want to put either of you in that uncomfortable situation.

So, welcome to Apocalyptica! Start as soon as you please.

Also, Simon was 29. He may be 30 by now, however. Seeing as half a year has passed and I can't remember reading about when his birthday was. Hope that helps a little.

I'm glad you introduced Leopold Walsh. That was one of my favorite CS's I've read so far. I love how you seamlessly included pivotal information without fully detracting from character's voice. It seemed very natural and effortless; I could believe that Leo is a real person. I like you, Euclid. You're most definitely allowed to stay in this RP forever.

I have a question, though: I like the backstory idea of Leo being a collector of Old World things, but after what happened to him, will that lifestyle be pushed to the back-burner? I don't imagine he'd get back to scavenging right away (he has to track down those bastards and slaughter them!), but it'd be interesting to read his adventures in dilapidated cities, looking for meaningless objects. It doesn't matter either way, I was just wondering about it.

Welcome to the RP! Glad to have you!

Made the first IC post!

Thought I'd add the last little part in for humors sake. I understand it may or may not be realistic, but hey, if throwing a penny off the empire state building can kill someone, why cant a jar of urine lobbed off a mid sized building?

Revenge wasn't an initial thought, but I'm definitely not against it. Just means better development for Leo; pushing the bounds of his humanity. I could put in an incentive for him to track them down; something of great personal value to him that he would fight to keep with him at all costs. In any case, thanks for having me!

Thank you for accepting Tomás! Glad the idea was surprising, I thought I'd try something a bit different that respected Apocalypse's history.

When I write I love the dynamic of one sibling searching for another, especially when it's the younger, 'weaker' doing the search. Reading the Simon character seemed like he was the sort with that common moral center. You know the type who said they were edgy, but really, they're well adjusted. I like that, but I like the idea of Tomás being the opposite. He thinks he's the strong and morally centered. Yet, being isolated then only exposed to the 1007th has changed his idea of right and wrong and he doesn't even recognize it. If Tomás actually did find Simon one day I have no idea how they'd relate.

I totally get it if Shon comes back and isn't cool with this character. Since the main goal for Tomás is that journey to find him, I'm totally fine with that either not coming to fruition or things not going so hunky-dory. Who knows. Maybe Tomás will be a monster by then. To be totally clear I have no plans for creating Simon as I think that's where the author's territory comes in. Besides, that search for Simon would really keep Tomás around those who knew him, and that just sounds awesome to play through. If he returns and is a bit surprised I don't mind chatting with him.
