Appearance- He stands at 6’4” and his toned body puts him at around 190 pounds.
Name- Aden Faye
Age- 19
Species- Human
Aura Color- Blue
Semblance- Distortion: With his semblance, Aden is able to make it appear like he is striking from multiple directions at once. But of course, the more directions he projects his attacks coming from, the quicker he will exhaust himself. And although it is hard to tell in the heat of battle, anything with sharp enough eyes will be able to catch on to the fact that the false projections have a slight translucence to them, which is why he is careful with when he uses it.
Weapon- Line and Sinker: A sword and shield set with a few hidden tricks behind them. Line, the shield, attaches to Aiden’s right forearm through two durable straps and has a collapsible handle to hold on to. It is shaped almost like a narrow heart with points replacing the curves. It is about six inches thick and is angled with the double points extending about half a foot past his knuckles, which make them ideal for jamming into a Grimm should they get close enough. In between the two points resides a small mechanism that he affectionately refers to as Hook, as it is capable of launching a sharp spearhead attached to a strand of very resilient wire.
Sinker, on the other hand, is a heavy cleaver-like sword whose blade stands at about a foot and a half tall and about eight inches wide. The guard is reminiscent of a rapier’s, covering his knuckles and running down the length of the hilt, although much more narrow. With a flip of a switch near his thumb, the collapsed blade and hilt are released, with the blade unfolding upwards in half while the guard does the same only downward. This effectively transforms the sword into a claymore and requires two hands to wield anywhere close to the vicinity of what’s considered effective.
For portability, Line is capable of folding down the middle in such a way that it is able to act as a sheath for Sinker’s collapsed form. The duo are then slung diagonally across his back.
Other Equipment- Strapped to his belt is a small first-aid kit. It won’t stop any massive injuries, but the bandages and disinfectant should prove enough to prevent minor ones from becoming major ones.
History- Being the first born out of six kids places a lot of expectations on a guy. And when both of your parents are hunters, life gets even more hectic. With at least one parent almost always away, Aden was required from a young age to help take care of his siblings. His parents were by no means neglectful, just always busy and that was something that Aden never could hold against them. But consequently, with each passing day he felt more and more responsible for each of his siblings. He was never the doting type, but it became quite clear to his peers that those that messed with his brothers and sisters would have to answer to him.
Becoming a hunter was an all too predictable path for Aden to take. Between his drive to protect his siblings and being raised on his parents tales made the young boy all too eager to enroll into Signal. A large part of him missed his family greatly, but there was another side that relished the unexpected freedom he found he had gained. Time passed quickly, for him, and the peace that The Calm promised made his days easygoing and relaxed.
The upheaval that was hiding just out of sight took him by surprise, like it had so many others. Aden did everything he could to try and protect Beacon, but he knew it was only a matter of time before it fell. He had gotten separated from his team early on during the defense and to this day he still isn’t sure what happened to them. Getting aboard the headmaster’s airship was the toughest decision he had ever made. Not once had he heard from his family during the chaos that enveloped the city, and a part of him blames himself for not being there to protect them. But he knew that he was no good to them dead, and that was the only thing that waited for him if he had tried to fight through the Grimm and find them.
With an all too heavy heart, he joined what he felt was not even close to enough people aboard the airship.
Personality- Protective to a fault, the older brother mentality in him has proven to be a hard habit for Aden to kick. Although he is by no means the domineering type, all too often Aden finds himself treating others as if they were one of his siblings, even if he isn’t necessarily much older than them. You will never catch him admitting it, but deep down Aden genuinely cares and worries about the wellbeing of others and will do what he can to help them, sometimes whether they like it or not.
Past that though is a level headed and patient individual. And even if he isn’t the greatest of strategists, he is usually the most likely one to listen to the voice of reason in any given group and encourage others to do the same. This is usually accomplished with dry and sarcastic attitude, but his intentions are always to keep those around him safe. If somebody is able to get past his acerbic speech, they will find an amiable guy that is loyal to those he cares about.
Fighting Style- Aden’s style with Line and Sinker is purely a defensive one with his shield always raised in front of him. Rarely is he ever the first to make the first move, as counterattacking is his strong suit. Years of experience have made him adept at one-on-one close quarter’s confrontations, but he becomes marginally less effective as the number of opponents increases. Hook is often used to get a Grimm’s attention or yank a flyer out of the sky, but it is not unheard of for Aden to use it defensively and put some distance between him and his foes. And of course, the area that he is weakest at is being the one on the assault as his form quickly becomes sloppy and predictable.
Other- Although Aden does smoke, the frequency of it is quite rare and oftentimes he merely takes a drag or two before putting it out.
