It's a normal world. Almost everything is the same as ours, with one difference. In this work one can have a supernatural being as a pet. Anything from a hellhound to a fairy. They take care of of their pets much like we do, they walk them, feed them, play with them and whatnot. Those things result in comedic situation, such as being followed to school by your pet, tornado warnings because of really big birds, tsunami warnings because there is a whale on the diving board and it might jump off.
