Appearance:
Name:
Conrad “Red” Kusuma
Age:
19
Unique Quality:
Necro Senses- Red has the uncanny ability to see and hear those who have passed, though he cannot touch them. He can only see those whose souls possess strong will. Red can control some of the weaker-minded spirits to his own will though they do not appear to him in their full forms but rather small, bright orbs. His control and manipulation over them has given him the ability to feign telekinesis.
Weakness:
— Voices in his head. He can hear the cries and screams of souls burning in the pits of hell as well as the confused murmuring of those lost to wander the otherworldly plane. This causes him to get severe headaches and migraines as well as insomnia, the voices never resting.
— Mental Instability. Though he can block out the voices or dull them in his mind at times, his mental psyche is extremely fragile due to the hours he’d endured the screams when his ability had first surfaced.
— On very rare occasions, he may suffer from psychotic breaks
Personality:
Revealed in IC
Bio:
Red was a problem child, always putting his family on edge worried that his actions would catch up to him. He had dropped out of High School after finding out he would not be graduating his senior year and did not plan to go to college, a topic that often was the cause of fighting in his household. His younger sister, Karla, was the peacekeeper and the only one known to successfully calm him down. One night, after a rather explosive argument with his parents, Red stormed out of the house and got in his car, planning to drive to a friend’s house. His sister managed to get into the car before he took off, to his surprise, and hoped to help him calm down and talk. She always knew what to say and how to say it, however, this time Red was more frustrated than he had ever been and continued to shout. His unstable behavior began to effect his driving and in his rage he was not paying full attention to the road. A loud honk and a scream from his sister shook his attention back to the road as he had been drifting into another lane. He quickly corrected himself and felt relieved when he was back in his own lane. Recovering from the incident, Red had failed to notice the light turn yellow. It had turned red before he ever made it to the light but was too occupied in recovering from the shock of the near accident to stop. Another scream from his sister alerted him of the incoming traffic ahead. The passenger-side door was rammed.
Coming to, Red found himself lying sore on a hospital bed. His sister is sitting beside his bed, smiling at him. When a doctor entered the room, he was informed that an accident had occurred in which one person was killed: his sister. They informed him that his heart had stopped and he was officially dead for ten minutes before emergency responders arrived and attempted to revive him. To the surprise of the doctors, Red did not seem to suffer any brain damage from the time his heart stopped beating. It was from then that he noticed his sister once again and his mind flooded with voices.
After the accident, his parents couldn’t stand to look at him. Disowned and homeless, Red wandered the street, making money from street performances and “psychic readings”, his sister’s spirit following alongside. She promised to stick by his side until she felt it was safe to leave him alone, until he found happiness. News of his taboo ability got around and caught the attention of the social higher-ups. He was taken from a homeless shelter in the dead of night and brought to Mary St. Jude’s
Extras:
His sister is his constant companion, often acting as his subconscious. Without her, he would not have been able to control his ability and dull out the voices.
