So, I've been into writing for a while now, though only recently starting to send my first book off to the publishers, but I had never attempted something that I think I probably should have thought about earlier on: collaborative writing. Not roleplaying, as though it is similar, roleplaying is one person coming up with a world and sometimes a layout of the entire story and everyone else coming up with a character or two, and that's about it. Collaborative writing, on the other hand, is the concept of two people sitting down together and designing everything from the bottom up as a fifty-fifty team effort.
My thought was that I wanted to do that one crazy thing that is two people collaborating on something that they can equally say, "That is my creation." I mean, writing a book is crazy enough, but two people building off of each other's writing styles has recently appealed to me, and I would like to give an attempt at it with anyone who might also have that scratching idea at the back of their mind.
So anyway, I'll just leave a list of things I've wanted to do fanfics for and maybe some other stuff I enjoy and if something strikes your fancy, let me know and we'll see about working on something together. If there's something else you might want to do a collaborative for-fun work on, or even if you wanted to approach a non-fanfic idea as a serious money-making project, let me know, and maybe my response will surprise us both. However, I should probably mention up-front that I don't do alternate universes or parallel worlds. I would also prefer that whatever you approach me about doing a fanfiction for, you should be highly knowledgeable about and well versed in the subject.
My List:
Fire Emblem (Let me know which games you've played if interested)
Inheritance Cycle (Eragon, Eldest, Brisingr, Inheritance)
Yu-Gi-Oh!
Pokemon
Sonic the Hedgehog
Star Wars
Harry Potter
The Legend of Zelda
Left Behind (May or may not follow books; could be just a Revelation-based collaboration if you prefer; this will be the hardest thing to collaborate on of all mentioned topics, though.)
So I've got a current list of nine. I may be open to more, though if you approach me about doing a fanfic for a non-Nintendo video game series, I am likely to decline. (Sonic is a major exception as a third-party series since some of his best games since release on non-Sega systems were Nintendo-exclusive, but that's just my opinion)
