History: Agrin was born to the tribe of Dark Elves that live in a cave in the Fallen Wood. The young Agrin was the son of a village shaman. The Shaman, Jabrall, would be the right hand of the village chieftain, advising him and giving him protection from dark magic his enemies might use on him to either kill or hurt him. Jabrall would also heal injured or ill tribes-members, cast other evil sorcery that the tribe's enemies might cast on them, drive away animals that would venture into the cave and appease their gods. If he does not make this gods happy, their belief is that their tribe would suffer as a result. Pestilence, strife, drought, floods, chaos and havoc and death are just among a few curses the gods could instill on the tribe if they failed to please them. As such, the tribe's shaman is seen as a vital link to the gods, as the gods would communicate through him and order them what they must do. Usually, this would involve a few animal sacrifices and ceremonial activities. On one morning however, Jabrall woke up from his slumber shouting that the gods needed blood, the blood of his son. The tribes folk had no choice but to bound the boy and let his father, still possessed by the gods, slaughter him. As Jabrall swung an axe, Agrin dogded the blade and ran out of the cave. He ran into the forest while being chased by his tribes kin. He managed to escape them but was still bounded by rope and was tired and thirsty.
A group of travelling Human monks found Agrin unconscious on the road they were traveling. They unraveled the ropes around his body and nursed him back to health. They took him back to their monastery just a few miles off the city of Theratin. Here, the monastery's and the monk's high priest and leader, Oliver Stonebrook, asked the young Dark Elf where he was from and how they could help him. Master Stonebrook spoke in all of the Dark Elvish's languages but Agrin did not mutter a word. It took some time before Agrin told them his story. Master Stonebrook took pity on the Dark Elf child and adopted him as a son. He was then taught by the order to be a monk. The Servants of the Light was a monk brotherhood that helped the poor and the needy. They taught him the magic of healing spells, how to create healing potions and how to perform surgery on people who's wounds could not be healed by arcane means.
As Agrin finished his lessons, he found joy in his duties to the order. This became his new life and for 91 years, Agrin has spent his life in service to the order and to the light. Agrin makes regular trips to the city of Theratin, where he helps the poor, pays for the freedom of slaves and performs he's healing miracles on those who need it.
